Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の液晶表示装置は、短辺と長辺とを有する液晶パネル、液晶パネルと重畳するように配置された導光板、導光板を収納する収納容器、液晶パネルの短辺又は長辺のうちのいずれか一つに沿って収納容器の側壁と導光板との間に配置されて液晶パネルに映像信号を供給する第1印刷回路基板、及び液晶パネルの短辺又は長辺の残りのうちの一つに沿って収納容器の側壁と導光板との間に配置されて液晶パネルに光を供給する光源を備える。

Description
本発明の液晶表示装置は、前記印刷回路基板と電気的に接続される駆動集積回路チップを更に含むことができ、前記駆動集積回路チップはデータ駆動部、組み込み型の(embedded)タイミングコントローラを含むことができる。
前記液晶パネルの複数の縁は短辺と長辺とを含み、前記印刷回路基板は前記液晶パネルの長辺に沿って配置され、前記光源は前記液晶パネルの短辺に沿って配置されうる。
ここで、前記印刷回路基板は前記液晶パネルの下側長辺に沿って配置され、前記駆動集積回路チップは前記液晶パネルの長辺又は短辺に配置されうる。
或いは、前記印刷回路基板は前記液晶パネルの短辺に沿って配置され、前記光源は前記液晶パネルの長辺に沿って配置されうる。
本発明の液晶表示装置は、前記液晶パネルの短辺に配置され、一端は前記液晶パネルと接続され、他端は前記印刷回路基板と接続される回路フィルムを更に含むことができ、前記回路フィルムは、前記液晶パネルの短辺に沿って折り曲げられた後に前記液晶パネルの長辺に沿って延長され、以後前記印刷回路基板に向かって延長されて該印刷回路基板と接続されうる。
また、本発明の液晶表示装置は、前記印刷回路基板と前記駆動集積回路チップとを電気的に接続する回路フィルムを更に含むことができ、前記印刷回路基板の背面に形成され、前記回路フィルムが接続されるコネクタを更に含むことができる。
前記印刷回路基板は第1印刷回路基板であり、前記光源は点光源素子及び該点光源素子が実装された第2印刷回路基板を含むことができる。

Claims (15)
- 複数の縁を有する液晶パネルと、
前記液晶パネルと重畳するように配置された導光板と、
前記導光板を収納する収納容器と、
前記液晶パネルの複数の縁のうちのいずれか一つに沿って前記収納容器の側壁と前記導光板との間に配置されて前記液晶パネルに映像信号を供給する印刷回路基板と、
前記液晶パネルの複数の縁の残りのうちの一つに沿って前記収納容器の側壁と前記導光板との間に配置されて前記液晶パネルに光を供給する光源と、を備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記導光板は所定の平面を有する平面形状であり、
前記印刷回路基板は前記導光板の所定の平面と同一平面に配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記印刷回路基板と電気的に接続される駆動集積回路チップを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記駆動集積回路チップはデータ駆動部を含むことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記駆動集積回路チップは組み込み型の(embedded)タイミングコントローラを含むことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶パネルの複数の縁は短辺と長辺とを含み、
前記印刷回路基板は前記液晶パネルの長辺に沿って配置され、
前記光源は前記液晶パネルの短辺に沿って配置されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記印刷回路基板は前記液晶パネルの下側長辺に沿って配置されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記駆動集積回路チップは前記液晶パネルの長辺に配置されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記駆動集積回路チップは前記液晶パネルの短辺に配置されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶パネルの短辺に配置され、一端は前記液晶パネルと接続され、他端は前記印刷回路基板と接続される回路フィルムを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記回路フィルムは、前記液晶パネルの短辺に沿って折り曲げられた後に前記液晶パネルの長辺に沿って延長され、以後前記印刷回路基板に向かって延長されて該印刷回路基板と接続されることを特徴とする請求項10に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記印刷回路基板は前記液晶パネルの短辺に沿って配置され、
前記光源は前記液晶パネルの長辺に沿って配置されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記印刷回路基板と前記駆動集積回路チップとを電気的に接続する回路フィルムを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記印刷回路基板の背面に形成され、前記回路フィルムが接続されるコネクタを更に含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記印刷回路基板は第1印刷回路基板であり、前記光源は点光源素子及び該点光源素子が実装された第2印刷回路基板を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
