Description
本出願は、係属中の2007年2月16日出願の米国特許出願第11/675,726号の一部継続出願であり、引用によって本明細書に取り込まれる。
「DO」は、溶存酸素を表す。
プロセス流中の微生物活動は、細胞が好気呼吸状態下で生成しているATPの量と溶存酸素の消費量が直接的に関連するため、溶存酸素の消費をモニタリングすることによって間接的に測定でき、細胞が生成するATPの量は前記プロセス流中の微生物活動のレベルと相関付けできる。本発明に記載の方法は、好気呼吸が微生物細胞中のエネルギ生成の主経路ではない場合の低レベルのDOを有するプロセス流に対しては好適ではない。
機構はプロセス流中の溶存酸素を実際に測定するために開発された。例えばORPプローブのような、他の分析装置はこの機構に付随してもよい。
プロセス流中のバルク型の(全体の)微生物学的活性をモニタリングする方法が開示される。バルク型の(全体の)微生物学的活性は、プロセス流中のプランクトン様の微生物及び固着性の微生物のような、プロセス流中のバルク型の微生物活動である。
表面結合型の微生物学的活性は、例えば生物膜のような、表面型微生物の微生物活動である。
バルク型の微生物学的活性は、表面結合型の微生物学的活性と併用してモニタリングできる。プロセス流中のバルク型の微生物学的活性と、表面結合型の微生物学的活性とを測定する方法は、(a)機構を前記プロセス流に連結するステップであって、前記機構が、複数の開口を含むフローセルであって、少なくとも1の開口が前記プロセス流から引き込まれる流体用のフローセル入口であり、少なくとも1の開口が前記フローセルを出る流体用のフローセル出口であるフローセルと、前記開口のうちの1つに取付けられるDOプローブと、選択的に前記開口のうちの1つに取付けられるORPプローブと、選択的に前記開口のうちの1つに取付けられる洗浄装置と、選択的にフローセル入口に取り付けられる第1の導管と、選択的にフローセル出口に取り付けられる第2の導管と、選択的に前記フローセルに付随するバルブとを含むステップと、(b)前記プロセス流から前記フローセル内に流体を引き込むステップと、(c)流体が前記フローセル内に引き込まれるのを可能にすべく、前記機構のバルブを開けるステップと、(d)前記DOプローブで前記プロセス流のDO濃度を少なくとも1回測定するステップであって、前記DOプローブは各測定前に洗浄されないステップと、(e)前記DOプローブの表面を洗浄するステップと、(f)前記DOプローブで前記機構内部の流体のDO濃度を少なくとも1回測定するステップであって、選択的に各測定前に前記DOプローブの表面が洗浄されるステップと、(g)流体が前記フローセル内に引き込まれるのを防ぐために前記機構のバルブを閉じるステップと、(h)前記DOプローブで前記機構内部の流体のDO濃度を少なくとも1回測定するステップであって、各測定前に前記DOプローブの表面が洗浄されるステップと、(i)ステップ(f)とステップ(h)との間のΔDOの読取り値を計算し、前記ΔDOを前記プロセス流中の前記バルク型の微生物学的活性と少なくとも相関づけるステップと、(j)ステップ(d)とステップ(f)との間のΔDOの読取り値を計算し、前記ΔDOを前記プロセス流中の前記表面結合型の微生物学的活性と少なくとも相関づけるステップとを含む。

Claims (7)
- プロセス流中のバルク型の(全体の)微生物学的水分活性をモニタリング及び制御する方法であって、
a.機構をプロセス流に連結するステップであって、前記機構が、複数の開口を含むフローセルであって、少なくとも1の開口が前記プロセス流から引き込まれる流体用のフローセル入口であり、少なくとも1の開口が前記フローセルを出る流体用のフローセル出口であるフローセルと、前記開口のうちの1つに取付けられるDOプローブと、選択的に前記開口のうちの1つに取付けられるORPプローブと、選択的に前記開口のうちの1つに取付けられる洗浄装置と、選択的に前記フローセル入口に取り付けられる第1の導管と、選択的に前記フローセル出口に取り付けられる第2の導管と、選択的に前記フローセルに付随するバルブとを含むステップと、
b.前記プロセス流から前記フローセル内に流体を引き込むステップと、
c.流体が前記フローセル内に引き込まれるのを可能にすべく、前記機構のバルブを開けるステップと、
d.前記DOプローブで前記プロセス流のDO濃度を少なくとも1回測定するステップであって、各測定前に前記DOプローブの表面が洗浄されるステップと、
e.流体が前記フローセルに引き込まれるのを防ぐべく、前記機構のバルブを閉じるステップと、
f.前記DOプローブで前記機構内部の流体のDO濃度を少なくとも1回測定するステップであって、各測定前に前記DOプローブの表面が洗浄されるステップと、
g.ステップ(d)とステップ(f)との間のΔDOの読取り値を計算するステップと、
h.ステップ(g)中の少なくとも前記ΔDOの値を、前記プロセス流中のバルク型の(全体の)微生物学的活性と相関づけるステップと、
i.1又はそれ以上の酸化性の殺生物剤を含む有効量の処理剤を前記プロセス流に、及び/又は、1又はそれ以上の非酸化性の殺生物剤を含む有効量の処理剤と、選択的に、n−水素化合物、酸化性の殺生物剤、及び選択的に緩衝剤を含む混合物とを前記プロセス流に添加することによって、前記微生物学的活性量を制御するステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記プロセス流が、製紙プロセス流又は流体交絡された非織繊維のプロセス流であることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項2に記載の方法において、前記流体交絡された非織繊維のプロセス流がガラス繊維マットを生成するプロセスの一部であることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記n−水素化合物がアンモニウム塩、硫酸アンモニウム、酢酸アンモニウム、炭酸水素アンモニウム、臭化アンモニウム、炭酸アンモニウム、塩化アンモニウム、クエン酸アンモニウム、硝酸アンモニウム、シュウ酸アンモニウム、過硫酸アンモニウム、リン酸アンモニウム、硫酸アンモニウム、硫酸第二鉄アンモニウム、及び硫酸第一鉄アンモニウムのうちの少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記n−水素化合物がスクシニミド、シアナミド、ジシアナミド、メラミン、エタノールアミン、エチレンジアミン、ジエタノールアミン、トリエタノールアミン、トリエチレンテトラミン、ジブチルアミン、トリブチルアミン、グルタミン、ジフェニルアミン、ヒドラジン、尿素、チオ尿素、N−メチル尿素、アセチル尿素、カルバミン酸エチル、1,3−ジメチルビウレト、メチルフェニルビウレト、イソシアヌル酸、バルビツール酸、6−メチルウラシル、2−イミダゾリン、5,5−ジメチルヒダントイン、2−ピリミジノン、ベンズアミド、フタルイミド、N−エチルアセトアミド、アゼチジン−2−オン、2−ピロリドン、カプロラクタム、スルファミン酸、スルファミド、p−トルエンスルホンアミド、フェニルスルホンアミド、ジメチルスルフィニミン、イソチアゾレン−1,1−ジオキシド、オルトホスホリルトリアミド、ピロホスホリルトリアミド、フェニルホスホリル−ビスジメチルアミド、ホウ酸アミド、メタンスルホンアミド、メラミン、ピロリドン、ヒダントイン、アセトアニリド、アセトアミド、ビウレット、アロファン酸、ピロール、インドール、グアニジン、ビグアニジン、ならびに第一級及び第二級の窒素含有ポリマのうちの少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記非酸化性の殺生物剤が2,2−ジブロモ−3−トリロプロピオンアミド(DBNPA)、グルタルアルデヒド、メチレンビスチオシアナート(MBTC)、チアゾール誘導体、イソチアゾリノン誘導体、5−クロロ−2−メチル−4−イソチアゾリン−3−オン(CMIT)、2−メチル−4−イソチアゾリン−3−オン(MIT)、1,2−ベンゾイソチアゾリン−3−オン(BIT)、2−ブロモ−2−ニトロ−プロパン−1,3−ジオール(ブロノポール)、長鎖型四級アンモニウム化合物、脂肪族ジアミン、グアニジン、ビグアニジン、n−ドデシルグアニジン塩酸塩(DGH)、n−塩化アルキルジメチルベンジルアンモニウム、ジデシルジメチルアンモニウムクロリド、1,2−ジブロモ−2,4−ジシアノブタン、2,2−ジブロモ−3−トリロプロピオンアミド(DBNPA)、ビス(トリクロロメチル)スルホン、4,5−ジクロロ−1,2−ジチオール−3−オン、2−ブロモ−2−ニトロスチレン、5−クロロ−2−メチル−4−イソチアゾリン−3−オン(CMIT)、及び2−メチル−4−イソチアゾリン−3−オン(MIT)のうちの少なくとも1つを含むことを特徴とする方法。
