本発明は、一般に、ソーシャルネットワークにおける動的なニュース提示に関し、より詳しくは、特定の人についてのニュース配信を動的に提示するシステムおよび方法に関する。
従来、ネットワーキングウェブサイトのユーザは、他のユーザによるアクセスのために、ソーシャルネットワークウェブサイトにユーザについての情報を提供することにより、他のユーザとつながっている。例えば、ユーザは、連絡先、背景情報、現在の仕事の地位、趣味等を掲示すればよい。他のユーザは、共通の関心事に基づいてまたはあらゆる他の理由のために、ユーザと接触したり、あるいはユーザについての情報を検討したりしてもよい。

ソーシャルネットワークのユーザの活動についてのニュース配信を動的に提示するシステムおよび方法を提供する。ソーシャルネットワークのユーザ（視聴ユーザ）は、ソーシャルネットワーク内の別のユーザ（従属ユーザ）についてのニュース配信を見ることを選んでもよい。ソーシャルネットワーク内の従属ユーザの活動のリストは、ソーシャルネットワーク内の種々のデータベースから取り出されればよい。ニュース配信は、活動のリストに基づいて自動的に生成される。活動のリストは、例えば、視聴ユーザの優先度設定や従属ユーザのプライバシー設定に応じて取り除かれ（フィルタリングされ）てもよい。活動のリストは、好ましい序列（例えば、年代順、優先順、アルファベット順など）で提示されるニュース項目のリストとして表示されてもよい。ニュース配信内の種々のニュース項目は、従属ユーザの活動を示すメディアコンテンツの項目やメディアコンテンツへのリンクを含んでもよい。また、ニュース項目は、視聴ユーザが従属ユーザの活動に参加することができるようにするリンクを含んでもよい。ニュース配信は、新しい活動についてのニュース項目を加えたり、以前の活動についてのニュース項目を取り除いたりすることにより絶え間なく更新されればよい。したがって、視聴ユーザは、新しい活動を連続的に掲示することを従属ユーザに要求することなく、ニュース配信に基づいて、ソーシャルネットワークを通して従属ユーザの「足跡（footprints）」の「軌道（track）」をうまく追うことができてもよい。

ミニフィードエンジン１１０が種々の構成要素（例えば、活動解析部３０２、プライバシーコンポーネント３０４、動的リストコンポーネント３０６、表示順コンポーネント３０８、情報リンクコンポーネント３１０、アクティブリンクコンポーネント３１２およびメディアジェネレータ３１４）から構成されるように記述したが、より少ない構成要素がミニフィードエンジン１１０を構成してもよく、それにもかかわらず種々の実施形態の範囲内である。
図４は、視聴ユーザ１０１ａに対して表示される一つ以上のニュース項目４０２の例示的なスクリーンショット４００である。例示的なスクリーンショット４００は、「サラ（Sarah）」という名の従属ユーザに関する６つのニュース項目４０２を示す表示ページを表す。しかしながら、６つより多くのあるいは少ないニュース項目４０２が表示されてもよい。総表示数は動的リストコンポーネント３０６によって制限されてもよい。種々の記事、コンテンツ、メディア等は、表示ページを介してニュース項目４０２に表示されてもよい。図４に示す例示的なスクリーンショットでは、ニュース項目が記事あるいは記事の見出しの形式で表示される。
ニュース項目４０２は活動を含む。例示的な活動４０４は、「ジョイ・リー（Joy Lee）がサラの１枚の写真を加えた」ことを示す。活動はテキストにより記述されてもよい。いくつかの実施形態では、情報リンク４０６は、ニュース項目４０２の一つ以上に結びつけられてもよい。情報リンクは、活動４０４についての追加情報を提供してもよい。例示的な情報リンク４０６は、例えば、視聴ユーザ１０１ａが「photogo」という名のジョイ・リーの写真アルバムを見ることができるようにする。種々の実施形態では、情報リンクは、視聴ユーザ１０１ａが別のウェブページにリンクしたり、写真を見たり、組織についての情報を得たり、ユーザプロフィールにリンクしたり、イベントについての情報を見たり、ユーザのメモを見たりすることができるようにしてもよい。いくつかの実施形態では、情報リンクは、多数の選択を持つドロップダウンメニューを含んでもよい。ニュース項目は、多数の情報リンクまたは一つの情報リンクを含めばよい。

図５を参照すると、ソーシャルネットワークのユーザの活動についてのニュース配信を生成し、表示する例示的な処理のフローチャートが示される。ステップ５０２において、ソーシャルネットワーク環境に関連した従属ユーザ１０１ｂにより実行される活動に関するニュース項目が生成される。例えば、活動解析部３０２は、監視モジュール２０６からまた選択的にソーシャルネットワークの種々のデータベース（例えば、プロフィールデータベース２０２、関係データベース２１０、活動データベース２１２など）から、従属ユーザ１０１ｂに関連した一つ以上の活動のリストを収集してもよい。活動のリストは、ここで論じるように、電子メール、ユーザプロフィールの視聴、ユーザの写真の視聴、昇進、他のユーザへのメッセージの送信などを含めばよい。活動のリストは、視聴ユーザあるいは従属ユーザにより設定された好みに応じて取り除かれてもよい。

    所定の組の視聴者に対して、前記複数のニュース項目へのアクセスを制限するステップと、
    前記複数のニュース項目に序列を割り当てるステップと、
    前記所定の組の視聴者の少なくとも一人の視聴ユーザに割り当てられた序列で前記複数のニュース項目を表示するステップと
    を含むことを特徴とする方法。

  23. 前記複数のニュース項目から所定のニュース項目を取り除き、前記複数のニュース項目に新しいニュース項目を追加するように構成される動的リストコンポーネントをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項１６に記載のシステム。
  24. ニュース配信を表示するためのプログラムを記憶したコンピュータ読み取り可能な媒体であって、プロセッサに、
    ソーシャルネットワーク環境のユーザに関連した複数の活動に関する複数のニュース項目を生成する手順と、
    前記複数の活動の少なくとも一つに関連した情報リンクを前記複数のニュース項目の少なくとも一つに結びつける手順と、
    所定の組の視聴者に対して、前記複数のニュース項目へのアクセスを制限する手順と、
    前記生成された複数のニュース項目に序列を割り当てる手順と、
    前記所定の組の視聴者の少なくとも一人の視聴ユーザに割り当てられた序列で、前記複数のニュース項目を表示する手順と
    を実行させるための前記プログラムを記憶したこと特徴とするコンピュータ読み取り可能な媒体。
  25. 前記プログラムは、前記プロセッサに、前記複数の活動の少なくとも一つに関連したアクティブリンクを前記複数のニュース項目の少なくとも一つに結びつける手順をさらに実行させることを特徴とする請求項２４に記載の媒体。
  26. 前記プログラムは、前記プロセッサに、表示に利用可能なメディアコンテンツの前記項目の数を動的に制限する手順をさらに実行させることを特徴とする請求項２４に記載の媒体。
