Description

The present invention relates to a tray-type card connector in which a terminal of an IC card is brought into and out of contact with a storage case by inserting and removing a tray supporting an IC card into and from the storage case.

Patent Document 1 discloses a portable terminal including a connector that can be attached to and detached from an IC card called a SIM card (Subscriber Identity Module Card). The connector includes an insulator (housing) having an open top surface and a contact fixed to the circuit board at the bottom, a metal shell (cover) that closes the top surface of the housing, an insulator supporting the SIM card, And a tray (slider) that can be inserted and removed while sliding into the storage case from the end opening of the storage case constituted by the shell. The tray includes a pair of left and right support pieces (arms), and when the bottom surface of the SIM card is supported by the left and right support pieces, the terminals provided on the bottom surface of the SIM card are exposed downward from between the left and right support pieces. Further, a leaf spring is provided on the bottom surface of the insulator, and a stopper that engages with the leaf spring when the tray is completely inserted into the storage case protrudes from the lower surface of the left and right support pieces. .
When the tray is completely inserted into the storage case, the SIM card terminal comes into contact with the contact fixed to the insulator, so that the control unit built in the portable terminal can read the data already input to the SIM card. On the other hand, when the tray is pulled out from the storage case, the leaf spring and the stopper engage with each other, so that the tray is prevented from falling out of the storage case.

In recent years, there has been a strict demand for lowering (thinning) and miniaturization of portable terminals, so it is necessary to reduce the height and area of the connector. To that end, the entire support piece of the tray must be thinned. .
However, when the thickness is reduced, the support piece has a reduced rigidity and is liable to be twisted or bent, so that the engagement force between the leaf spring and the stopper is reduced. Therefore, when a user who has purchased a portable terminal pulls out the tray with an unnecessarily large force when replacing the SIM card, the tray may drop from the storage case.

To solve this problem, plate springs are formed on both sides of the shell, and engagement recesses that engage the left and right plate springs when the tray is pulled out on the side surfaces of the left and right support pieces. It is possible to do. Even if the support piece is thin, it does not have a significant effect on the ease of bending of the support piece in the left-right direction. Compared to Patent Document 1, it is easier to prevent the tray from dropping out of the storage case.

However, in the case of the card connector using the tray as described above, even if the tray is pulled out from the storage case with a strong force, it is not damaged and is flexible so that the tray can be inserted into the storage case again. A function that is contradictory to each other, that is, a property and a strength (hardness) that can resist a pulling force of a considerable magnitude is required. Therefore, if the support piece is easily twisted around the longitudinal direction by extremely thinning the support piece, or the support piece is easily twisted in the longitudinal direction, the support piece is caused by the elastic force of the left and right leaf springs. As a result, there is a possibility that the tray cannot be smoothly slid with respect to the storage case.
Furthermore, even if the elastic force of the left and right leaf springs is increased, if the user accidentally moves the tray in the pulling direction with a strong force, the tray will fall out of the storage case.
In addition, if the user accidentally pulls out the tray from the storage case, the tray must be reinserted into the storage case. There is a risk of both being damaged by rubbing with a strong force.

The object of the present invention is to allow the tray to be smoothly operated even when the tray is lowered in height, to prevent the tray from being easily detached from the storage case, and to reverse the direction of the front and back of the tray. Another object of the present invention is to provide a tray-type card connector that can be inserted into a storage case.

The tray-type card connector of the present invention comprises a storage case having an insertion opening and supporting a contact and two support pieces for supporting the bottom surface of the IC card, and is inserted into the storage case from the insertion opening. And a tray for bringing the terminal of the IC card exposed between the two supporting pieces into contact with the contact and separating the terminal from the contact by pulling out the terminal. The two supporting pieces and the storage case An elastic engagement portion that urges the two support pieces in a direction approaching each other is formed on one of the two side portions, and a drawer that engages the elastic engagement portion when the tray is pulled out from the storage case on the other side. A guide that extends in the moving direction of the tray and closes at one end on at least one of the bottom of the support piece and the bottom of the storage case. It is formed and is characterized by the formation of the engaging projection to be engaged with the end portion when slidably engaged with the guide groove to the other, and pulled out the tray.

It is preferable that the arrangement of the engagement protrusions is devised so that when the IC card is supported on the tray, at least a part of the engagement protrusions overlaps the IC card in plan view.

In the present invention, the engagement protrusion provided on one of the tray and the storage case is slidably engaged with the guide groove formed on the other, so that the support piece can be reliably prevented from being twisted or twisted. Therefore, it is possible to operate the tray smoothly while the position of the tray is restricted, while increasing the elastic force of the elastic engagement portion to increase the force of preventing the tray from dropping out of the storage case.
In addition, when the tray is pulled out from the storage case with a strong force, the engagement protrusions abut against the end of the guide groove to resist the tray pulling out, so that the tray can be prevented from being pulled out unexpectedly.
Further, since the guide groove and the engaging protrusion are formed on the bottom of the tray and the storage case, the tray cannot be inserted into the storage case unless the front and back of the tray are oriented correctly. Therefore, there is no possibility that the tray is inserted in the storage case with the direction of the tray reversed, and both are damaged.

According to the second aspect, when the IC card is placed on the tray, the IC card is positioned immediately above at least a part of the engaging protrusion, so that the support card on which the engaging protrusion is formed is bent upward. Is reliably regulated. Since the engagement allowance of the engagement protrusion with respect to the guide groove is large, the engagement protrusion is more difficult to be removed from the guide groove, and the effect of preventing the pull-out in the state where the IC card is stored is further enhanced. Therefore, it is effective in preventing the IC card from being lost during the work.

The insulator 20 is obtained by injection molding an insulating and heat-resistant synthetic resin material. Six contacts 22 are fixed inside the bottom plate portion 21 of the insulator 20 by insert molding at the time of injection molding. The contact 22 is subjected to a base plating (for example, nickel (Ni) plating) on a base material (for example, phosphor bronze, beryllium copper, titanium copper, stainless steel, Corson type copper alloy) obtained by stamping, and then finished. It is an integrated product manufactured by plating (for example, gold plating, tin (Sn) -copper (Cu) plating, tin (Sn) -lead (Pb) plating), and both have elasticity and conductivity. A tail portion 23 formed at the front end of each contact 22 protrudes forward from the front end surface of the bottom plate portion 21, and a spring-like terminal 24 extending forward from the rear portion of each contact 22 is formed as a through hole in the bottom plate portion 21. It protrudes above the bottom plate portion 21 through the six long holes 25. The left and right sides of the upper surface of the bottom plate portion 21 are support piece guide recesses 26 and 27 that are one step lower than the center portion and extend in the front-rear direction (the support piece guide recess 27 is wider than the support piece guide recess 26). Is). Furthermore, a guide groove 28 extending in the front-rear direction and closed at both front and rear ends is formed as a through hole in the right support piece guide recess 27 (the bottom of the insulator 20). Further, bottom cutouts 29 are formed at both left and right end portions on the rear end side of the bottom plate portion 21.
Substantially vertical side walls 31 are provided on the left and right side edges of the bottom plate portion 21, and side cutouts 32 are formed at the rear ends of the left and right side walls 31. Further, three upper engaging protrusions 33 and three lower engaging protrusions 34 project from the outer surfaces of the left and right side walls 31.
Near the left and right ends of the front edge of the bottom plate portion 21, a pair of substantially vertical front stoppers 36 separated from the side wall 31 in the left-right direction are provided as left and right pairs. 37 protrudes (see FIG. 2).

すると、図1に示すように携帯端末Aの裏面に凹設したバッテリ収納凹部B(図1では、バッテリ収納凹部Bからバッテリとバッテリ収納凹部Bの開口を塞ぐ蓋を取り外している)の前壁に形成した取付孔内に収納ケースCが位置する。
The shell 40 is a member formed of phosphor bronze or stainless steel, for example. The shell 40 has substantially the same planar shape as the insulator 20, and includes a ceiling portion 41 that closes the upper surface of the insulator 20, and a pair of left and right side plate portions 42 that hang down from both side edges of the ceiling portion 41. Two locking holes 44 and a locking hole 45 are formed in the front and rear side in a portion straddling the ceiling portion 41 and the side plate portion 42. The rear portion of the lower edge portion of the locking hole 45 is an engagement step portion 46 that is one step lower than the front portion, and the engagement protrusion is formed from the rear edge portion of the locking hole 45 to the front end portion (front end portion). An elastic engagement portion 47 having 48 extends forward. The elastic engagement portion 47 can be elastically deformed in the left-right direction, and is located inside the side plate portion 42 in a free state as shown in FIG.
Two lower edge engaging recesses 50 are formed in the lower edge portions of the left and right side plate portions 42. Furthermore, a substantially horizontal tail portion 51 protrudes inwardly at the rear ends of the left and right side plate portions 42, and Sn—Cu (tin copper) or gold is plated on the surfaces of the left and right tail portions 51. is there. In addition, a pair of left and right tail portions 52 and a pair of left and right engaging portions 53 located outside the tail portion 52 protrude from the front edge portion of the ceiling portion 41. Sn—Cu (tin copper) or gold is plated on the surfaces of the left and right tail portions 52, and the left and right locking portions 53 are formed with locking holes (see FIG. 2).
When the ceiling portion 41 of the shell 40 is put on the top of the insulator 20, the three upper engaging projections 33 on the left and right of the insulator 20 are connected to the lower edge portions of the left and right engaging holes 44 and the engaging step portions 46 of the engaging holes 45. The left and right three lower engaging projections 34 are engaged with the right and left lower edge engaging recesses 50 and the portion immediately below the tail portion 51 on the lower edge of the side plate portion 42, and the left and right elastic engagements. The engaging protrusion 48 of the portion 47 protrudes inside the corresponding side wall 31 through the left and right side cutouts 32 of the insulator 20. Further, the left and right tail portions 51 are positioned in the corresponding bottom cutouts 29 of the insulator 20, and the locking holes of the left and right locking portions 53 are locked to the left and right locking projections 37 (see FIG. 2).
The storage case C composed of the insulator 20 and the shell 40 integrated with each other in this way solders the tail portion 23 of each contact 22 to a circuit pattern on a circuit board (not shown) fixed inside the portable terminal A. In addition, the tail part 51 and the tail part 52 of the shell 40 are fixed to the circuit board by soldering to the ground pattern or fixing pattern of the circuit board. Then, as shown in FIG. 1, the front wall of the battery housing recess B that is recessed on the back surface of the portable terminal A (in FIG. 1, the battery and the lid that closes the opening of the battery housing recess B are removed from the battery housing recess B). The storage case C is located in the mounting hole formed in the above.

The tray 60 is formed by injection molding an insulating synthetic resin material. The tray 60 includes an operation end 61 having a rear end portion and a notch 62 formed on the left end portion thereof, and support pieces 63 and 64 projecting forward from the operation end portion 61 together. An exposure opening 65 is formed between the operation end 61, the support piece 63, and the support piece 64. As shown in the figure, the support piece 64 is wider than the support piece 63, and the support piece 63 is substantially the same width as the support piece guide recess 26 on the left side of the insulator 20, and the support piece 64 is on the right side of the insulator 20. The width of the support piece guide recess 27 is substantially the same. On the upper surface of the operation end 61, the support piece 63, and the support piece 64, a mounting recess 67 having substantially the same planar shape and substantially the same height as the SIM card (IC card) 80 is provided. At the right end portion of the upper surface of the portion 61, a triangular pull-out recess 68 independent of the mounting recess 67 is provided. Side stoppers 69 are formed on the left and right sides of the rear end of the tray 60 so as to protrude outwardly from the front part of the tray 60. The portion of the tray 60 positioned in front of the side stopper 69 is smaller than the inner surface of the left and right side walls 31 and can be inserted into the storage case C from the rear end opening (insertion opening) of the storage case C. Since the left and right widths of the rear end portion of 60 (the portion where the side stopper 69 is formed) are larger than the dimension between the inner surfaces of the left and right side walls 31, they cannot be inserted into the storage case C.
At the same front-rear direction position of the outer surfaces of the support piece 63 and the support piece 64, a pull-out engagement portion 71 and a storage-time engagement portion 72 are respectively recessed, and the support piece 63 and the support piece 64 have front end surfaces on the front end surfaces. A front end protrusion 73 projects. Further, an engagement protrusion 75 having a width substantially the same as that of the guide groove 28 of the insulator 20 protrudes downward in the vicinity of the front end of the inner edge portion of the lower surface of the support piece 64 (the bottom portion of the support piece 64).
The tray 60 is assembled to the storage case C by soldering the storage case C to the circuit board and then inserting it into the storage case C from the rear end opening of the storage case C. When the tray 60 is assembled to the storage case C, the support piece 63 is slidably engaged with the support piece guide recess 26 and the support piece 64 is slidably engaged with the support piece guide recess 27 as shown in FIG. Further, the engaging protrusion 75 protruding from the lower surface of the support piece 64 is slidably fitted into the guide groove 28 of the insulator 20. Further, a portion of the insulator 20 located between the support piece guide recess 26 and the support piece guide recess 27 (a portion higher than the support piece guide recess 26 and the support piece guide recess 27) is located in the exposure opening 65, and left and right The engaging protrusions 48 of the elastic engaging portions 47 come into contact with the outer surfaces of the support piece 63 and the support piece 64 while being elastically deformed.
The tray 60 integrated with the storage case C can slide in the front-rear direction with respect to the storage case C. That is, the front end surfaces of the left and right side stoppers 69 abut against the left and right sides of the rear end surface of the shell 40, respectively, and the front end surfaces of the tray 60 (inner portions of the front end protrusions 73) respectively contact the front stopper 36 of the insulator 20. The tray 60 is accommodated in a storage position (position in FIGS. 2 and 3) where the left and right front end protrusions 73 come into contact with each other and enter the gap between the left and right side walls 31 and the front stopper 36 (see FIG. 2). It is slidable between a drawing position (the position shown in FIGS. 4 to 6) that is largely drawn rearward from the case C. When the tray 60 is located at the storage position, the engaging protrusion 75 contacts the front end surface of the guide groove 28, and the left and right side stoppers 69 contact the left and right end portions of the rear end surface of the tray 60. Since the slides 48 do not slide forward and the engagement protrusions 48 of the left and right elastic engagement portions 47 engage with the left and right storage engagement portions 72 (see FIGS. 2 and 3), the tray 60 is stored. Held in position. On the other hand, when the tray 60 is located at the pull-out position, the engaging projection 75 abuts against the rear end surface of the guide groove 28, so that the tray 60 does not slide any further and the engagement of the left and right elastic engaging portions 47 is increased. Since the mating protrusion 48 engages with the left and right pulling engagement portions 71 (see FIGS. 4 to 6), the tray 60 is held in the pulling position. As shown in FIG. 1, when the tray 60 is located at the storage position, the rear end of the tray 60 is located inside the battery storage recess B.

In order to attach the SIM card 80 to the connector 10 having the above-described configuration, first, an operator at the manufacturing site or a user who has purchased the portable terminal A equipped with the connector 10 pulls out the tray 60 located at the storage position as shown in FIG. An end portion of a rod-like member (not shown) (not shown) is engaged with the concave portion 68, and the rod-like member is pulled backward. Then, the left and right elastic engagement portions 47 are elastically deformed outward, and the respective engagement protrusions 48 escape outward from the left and right pull-out engagement portions 71, so that the tray 60 slides rearward along the guide grooves 28. . When the tray 60 reaches the pull-out position, the engaging protrusion 75 comes into contact with the rear end surface of the guide groove 28, and the left and right elastic engaging portions 47 are elastically deformed inward to correspond to the respective engaging protrusions 48. Since it engages with the engaging portion 72 at the time of storage, the operator or user can get a click feeling, and the tray 60 is held in the drawer position.
Next, as shown in FIG. 5, the SIM card 80 is placed in the placement recess 67 of the tray 60. Then, the six terminals 81 (see FIG. 4) provided on the lower surface of the SIM card 80 are exposed below the tray 60 through the exposure opening 65. When the operation end 61 of the tray 60 is pushed forward, the left and right elastic engaging portions 47 are elastically deformed outward, and the respective engaging projections 48 escape from the left and right storage engaging portions 72 to the outside. 60 slides forward along the guide groove 28. When the tray 60 reaches the storage position, the engaging protrusion 75 comes into contact with the front end surface of the guide groove 28, and the left and right elastic engaging portions 47 are elastically deformed inward, so that each engaging protrusion 48 corresponds. Since it engages with the engaging portion 72 at the time of storage, the operator or user can also recognize the completion of insertion by a click feeling, and the tray 60 is held at the storage position. Further, since the spring-like terminals 24 of the six contacts 22 of the insulator 20 come into contact with the six terminals 81 of the SIM card 80 through the exposure opening 65, the circuit board and the SIM card 80 are electrically connected. Therefore, a control unit (not shown) built in the portable terminal A and electrically connected to the circuit board can read data already input to the SIM card 80.
Further, when taking out the SIM card 80 from the connector 10, the tray 60 is slid rearward to the drawing position in the same procedure as described above. Since the SIM card 80 stored in the tray 60 is also exposed on the lower side of the notch 62, it can be picked up with a finger or the like and can be easily removed from the connector 10.

In the present embodiment described above, the engagement protrusion 75 provided on the tray 60 is slidably engaged with the guide groove 28 formed on the insulator 20, so that the support piece 63 and the support piece 64 are twisted around the longitudinal direction or in the longitudinal direction. Can prevent drooling. Therefore, it is possible to smoothly slide the tray 60 while increasing the elastic force of the left and right elastic engaging portions 47 to increase the force of preventing the tray 60 from dropping from the storage case C.

Further, in order to pull the tray 60 backward from the storage position in the inserted state of the SIM card 80, an elastic force is applied from the respective contacts 22 to the lower surface of the placed SIM card 80, so that a corresponding force is required. Therefore, when pulling out the tray 60, the tray 60 may be pulled out with a force larger than necessary, and the tray 60 in which the SIM card 80 is stored may be accidentally pulled out from the connector 10. However, when the tray 60 moves to the drawing position, the engaging protrusion 75 comes into contact with the rear end of the guide groove 28 and resists the pulling force, so that compared with the case where the engaging protrusion 75 and the guide groove 28 are not formed. Since the force required to pull out the tray 60 is increased, it is possible to prevent the tray 60 from being easily pulled out.
Further, especially when the SIM card 80 is inserted, the SIM card 80 is located immediately above the engaging protrusion 75, so that the SIM card 80 causes the upward bending of the support piece 64 on which the engaging protrusion 75 is formed. Be regulated. Since the engagement allowance of the engagement protrusion 75 with respect to the guide groove 28 is large, the engagement protrusion 75 is less likely to be detached from the guide groove 28, and the pull-out prevention effect is enhanced. Thereby, it is possible to prevent an operator or user who replaces the SIM card 80 from dropping or losing the SIM card 80 by mistake.
Even when the SIM card 80 is not inserted in the tray 60, the left and right elastic engagement portions 47 press the support pieces 63 and 64 inward, but the support pieces 63 and 64 are The support piece guide recess 26 and the support piece guide recess 27 having the same width are engaged with each other. For this reason, there is little risk that the support piece 63 and the support piece 64 escape inside from the support piece guide recess 26 and the support piece guide recess 27 and ride on the portion between the support piece guide recess 26 and the support piece guide recess 27. Since the engagement protrusion 75 is engaged with the guide groove 28 with respect to the piece 64, there is a risk that the engagement protrusion 75 may be disengaged upward from the support piece guide recess 27 and ride on the portion between the support piece guide recess 26 and the support piece guide recess 27. small. Therefore, the elastic force can be reliably applied to the tray 60 from the left and right elastic engagement portions 47, and the possibility that the holding force of the tray 60 by the elastic engagement portions 47 is reduced is small.
Further, when the user pulls the tray 60 rearward with an extremely strong force, the engagement by the elastic engagement portion 47 (engagement protrusion 48) and the engagement portion 72 during storage is released and the engagement protrusion 75 is released. Falls out of the guide groove 28, and the tray 60 is pulled out of the storage case C. In this case, the user must insert the tray 60 into the storage case C again. However, the guide groove 28 is formed in the bottom plate portion 21 of the insulator 20 and the engaging protrusion 75 is formed in the bottom portion of the tray 60. The tray 60 cannot be inserted into the storage case C unless the front and back (upper and lower) orientations of the tray 60 are set correctly. Therefore, there is no possibility that the user inserts the storage case C with the direction of the tray 60 reversed and damages both. Further, when the connector 10 is manufactured, it is possible to prevent the operator from inserting the tray 60 in the storage case C with the direction of the tray 60 reversed.

As mentioned above, although this invention was demonstrated based on the said embodiment, this invention is not limited to this embodiment, It can implement, giving various deformation | transformation.
For example, the engagement protrusion 75 may be formed only on the support piece 63 side or on the bottom surface of the support piece 63 and the support piece 64, and the guide groove 28 may be formed at a position corresponding to the engagement protrusion 75 of the insulator 20. Further, the engagement protrusion 75 may be formed on the bottom portion on the insulator 20 side, and the guide groove 28 may be formed on the bottom portion on the tray 60 side. Further, the guide groove 28 does not need to be a through groove and may be a bottomed groove. Further, the front end of the guide groove 28 may be opened without being closed (when the guide groove 28 is formed in the tray 60, the rear end of the guide groove 28 may be opened).
Further, members corresponding to the elastic engagement portions 47 are formed on the outer surfaces of the support piece 63 and the support piece 64, and concave portions (corresponding to the engagement portion 71 when pulled out and the engagement portion 72 when stored) are formed on both sides of the shell 40. Alternatively, a hole) may be formed.
Further, the tray 60 may be formed of a material having not only insulating properties but also heat resistance. In this way, the tail portion 23, the tail portion 51, and the tail portion 52 of each contact 22 can be soldered to the circuit board with the tray 60 inserted into the storage case C.
Further, the contact 22 may be press-fitted and fixed to the insulator 20 without insert molding the contact 22 and the insulator 20.
Further, the front ends of the support piece 63 and the support piece 64 may be connected by a connecting piece 70 as in the tray 60 ′ shown in FIG. In this case, the lower surface position of the connecting piece 70 is set above the support piece 63 and the support piece 64 so that the connecting piece 70 does not come into contact with the contact 22 when the tray 60 ′ slides.
Of course, the present invention can be applied to a connector for connecting an IC card of a different use from the SIM card 80 to an electronic device.
