Description

The present invention relates to an edge sensor suitable for detecting, for example, chipping or cracking at the edge of liquid crystal glass, and a defect inspection apparatus using the edge sensor.

As a technique for detecting the edge position of an object with high accuracy, the present inventor first focused on Fresnel diffraction of monochromatic parallel light at the edge of the object, and detected it using a line sensor in which a plurality of light receiving cells are arranged at a predetermined pitch. It was proposed to detect the edge position of the object with an accuracy equal to or higher than the arrangement pitch of the light receiving cells in the line sensor by analyzing the light quantity distribution pattern (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

In addition, for transparent bodies such as liquid crystal glass and translucent bodies, a technique for detecting the edge position with high accuracy by focusing on the above-mentioned Fresnel diffraction has been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 2).
Japanese Patent No. 3858994 JP 2007-64733 A

However, if there is chipping or cracking on the edge of the glass body, it will be affected by the light reflected at the defective part due to the chipping or cracking inside the glass body. It becomes difficult to detect. Moreover, even if the edge position of the glass body having a chip or a crack on the edge is detected while moving the line sensor along the edge, it is difficult to clearly detect the change in the edge position. For this reason, it is also difficult to specify a defective part in which a chip or a crack occurs in the glass body.

The present invention has been made in consideration of such circumstances, and an object of the present invention is an edge sensor for detecting the edge position of the object from a light amount distribution pattern generated by Fresnel diffraction at the edge of the object, for example, a liquid crystal glass. It is an object of the present invention to provide an edge sensor capable of reliably detecting defects such as chipping and cracks generated in a transparent or translucent object such as the above.
At the same time, the present invention provides a defect inspection apparatus capable of accurately detecting a defective portion such as a chip or a crack generated in a transparent or translucent object such as liquid crystal glass using the edge sensor. It is aimed.

In order to achieve the above-described object, an edge sensor according to the present invention includes a line sensor in which a plurality of light receiving cells are arranged at a predetermined pitch, a light source that projects monochromatic parallel light toward the line sensor, And an arithmetic unit that analyzes an output and detects a specific position (edge position) of an object positioned in the optical path of the monochromatic parallel light,
The calculation unit is configured to analyze the light quantity distribution pattern on the line sensor by searching for the output of the line sensor from the free space side, for example.
<A> A first light amount threshold value in which a light amount when a light amount distribution pattern generated at the edge of a transparent or translucent object is searched from one end portion to the other end portion is determined based on the light amount in free space. First position detecting means for obtaining the position lowered to the first detection position of the object;
<B> A second position where the second detected position of the object is obtained as a second detected position of the object after the light quantity further decreases from the detected first detected position and then increased to a second light quantity threshold value determined based on the light quantity in the free space. 2 position detecting means. The first and second light intensity threshold values may be set individually, but may be given as the same value.

Moreover, the defect inspection apparatus according to the present invention includes the edge sensor having the above-described configuration,
<a> Scanning means for moving the line sensor in the edge sensor along an edge of the transparent or translucent object, or for moving the transparent or translucent object in a direction crossing the line sensor in the edge sensor; ,
<b> Changes in the first and second detection positions detected by the first and second position detection means of the edge sensor as the line sensor or the object is scanned are monitored, Alternatively, defect detection means for emitting an event when the amount of change in the second detection position exceeds a preset threshold value is provided.

Further, another defect inspection apparatus according to the present invention is configured to include the edge sensor having the above-described configuration,
<c> a light shielding width detecting means for obtaining a difference between the first and second detection positions detected by the first and second position detecting means of the edge sensor as a light shielding width;
<a> Scanning means for moving the line sensor in the edge sensor along an edge of the transparent or translucent object, or for moving the transparent or translucent object in a direction crossing the line sensor in the edge sensor; ,
<d> a defect detection unit that monitors a light shielding width obtained by the light shielding width detection unit as the line sensor or the object is scanned, and emits an event when the light shielding width exceeds a preset threshold value. It is characterized by that.

Incidentally, the transparent or translucent object is a glass plate, and the defect detecting means detects a chip or crack at the edge of the glass plate, and further detects a dent (a large chip that deforms the edge line) to detect the presence of a defect. Configured to emit events that indicate.

According to the edge sensor having the above-described configuration, the position where the light amount is reduced from the light amount distribution pattern generated at the edge of the object to the first light amount threshold value determined with reference to the light amount in free space (a large change portion of the light amount). The detected portion of the object is detected as a first detection position (for example, an edge position), and the change portion having a larger light amount on the object side than the first detection position detected as described above because the object is transparent or translucent. Are detected as a second detection position that has increased to a second light quantity threshold value determined with reference to the light quantity in free space after the light quantity further decreases from the first detection position. From this relationship, it is possible to determine the presence or absence of a defect at the edge of the object.

In other words, when there are defects such as chips or cracks on the edge of the object, the light transmission action inside the transparent or translucent object is changed due to these defects, and it occurs at a normal edge without defects. Since the light quantity distribution pattern is different from the light quantity distribution pattern, the change in the light quantity distribution pattern can be easily determined from the two detection positions described above. As a result, it is possible to easily determine the presence or absence of a defect at the edge of the object from the relationship between the two detection positions.

According to the defect inspection apparatus of the present invention, the line sensor in the edge sensor is moved along the edge of the transparent or translucent object, or the transparent or translucent object is moved to the line sensor in the edge sensor. Since the first and second detection positions are obtained while moving in the intersecting direction, and the trends of the detected detection positions are obtained, a defect such as a chip or a crack can be detected from the change in the two detection positions described above. At the same time, the position of the defect can be easily specified from the information (scanning position information) of the detection position detection part when the defect is detected.

Therefore, it is possible to easily and effectively detect the presence of defects such as chipping and cracking at the edge of the object while paying attention to the change in the light amount distribution pattern at the edge of the transparent or translucent object. There are significant practical advantages.

Hereinafter, an edge sensor according to an embodiment of the present invention and a defect inspection apparatus using the edge sensor will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 illustrates an edge sensor 10 that detects a specific position (for example, an edge position) of a transparent or translucent object A such as liquid crystal glass, and the position detection target portion of the object A scanned by the edge sensor 10. It is a schematic block diagram of the defect inspection apparatus which monitors the output of the edge sensor 10 and inspects the presence or absence of a defect in the object A.

In the edge sensor 10, a line sensor 11 in which a plurality of light receiving cells are arranged on a straight line at a predetermined pitch and a light source 12 that projects monochromatic parallel light toward the line sensor 11 are arranged facing each other with a predetermined distance therebetween. And an arithmetic unit 14 for analyzing the output of the line sensor 11 and detecting a specific position (for example, edge position) of the object A in the optical path of the monochromatic parallel light. .

The basic structure (configuration) of the optical head 13 is well known as described in Patent Documents 1 and 2 described above. The scanning of the position detection target part of the object A by the edge sensor 10 is performed by moving the line sensor 11 (optical head 13) in the edge sensor 10 along the edge of the transparent or translucent object A. Done. Alternatively, the scanning is performed by moving the transparent or translucent object A in the direction intersecting the line sensor 11 in the edge sensor 10, specifically, the direction intersecting the arrangement direction of the plurality of light receiving cells. Is called.

The computing unit 14 is realized by a CPU, for example, and analyzes the light quantity distribution pattern on the line sensor 11 generated at the edge of the object A described above from the output of the line sensor 11 to analyze the object A. A specific position (for example, first and second detection positions described later including an edge position). Here, the light quantity distribution pattern is generally a Fresnel diffraction pattern generated in the monochromatic parallel light.

Incidentally, when the light amount received by the line sensor 11 in the free space that is not obstructed by the object A is normalized to [1], the arithmetic unit 14 is basically at the rising portion of the light amount distribution pattern. A position where the received light amount is [0.25] is detected as a detection position (edge position) of the object A. In other words, the computing unit 14 locates the position where the light amount becomes a predetermined light amount threshold value [0.25] determined on the basis of the light amount [1] in free space on the light amount distribution pattern by the Fresnel diffraction. It is comprised so that it may detect as a specific position (edge position).

In the present invention, since the object A to be detected is transparent or translucent, the output of the line sensor 11 has a large amount of received light in a free space where the object A is not positioned as shown in FIG. Not only that, but also in the portion where the object A is positioned, the monochromatic parallel light transmitted through the object A reaches the line sensor 11, so that the amount of received light is large, and when the object is a light shielding body, It is noted that the amount of received light does not decrease so much at the edge portion, but the amount of received light is reduced to some extent only by the influence of Fresnel diffraction at the edge portion of the object A. In addition to this, when a defect such as a chip or a crack exists on the edge of the object A, the edge of the straight line is affected by random diffraction or refraction of the monochromatic parallel light at the defect portion, and also irregular reflection. It pays attention to the fact that the width of the portion where the amount of received light is reduced (decreased) becomes wider than when Fresnel diffraction occurs at (knife edge).

That is, the output of the line sensor 11 when the detection position of the liquid crystal glass, which is a transparent object, is detected using the optical head 13, as shown in FIGS. 3 (a) to 3 (d), is applied to the edge of the liquid crystal glass. A difference occurs in the distribution pattern of the amount of received light depending on whether or not there is a defect. 3A shows a light reception distribution pattern at an edge portion where no defect exists, FIG. 3B shows a light reception distribution pattern when a minute chip exists in the edge portion, and FIG. 3C shows an edge portion. FIG. 3D shows a distribution pattern when cracks exist, and FIG. 3D shows a distribution pattern when dents due to chipping exist in the edge portion.

As shown in the distribution patterns of the received light amounts shown in FIGS. 3A to 3D, when there is a defect such as a chip or a crack as compared with the case where there is no defect at the edge of the object A, the edge portion The drop in the amount of light increases at the same time, and the width of the drop in the amount of light increases. However, the drop position of the amount of light detected on the free space side hardly changes regardless of the presence or absence of a defect. Further, the light amount drop position detected on the object side varies greatly depending on the type and degree of the defect, and the drop method (light amount change pattern) also changes variously. In addition, when there is a defect at the detection position, a large variation occurs in the amount of light received on the side of the object A that is essentially transparent to transmit light.

Therefore, in the edge sensor 10 according to the present invention, the output of the line sensor 11 is searched from the free space side where the object A is not positioned, and the amount of light suddenly decreases due to Fresnel diffraction generated at the edge of the object A. The first position detection means 15 for obtaining the first detection position α of the object A from the portion to be detected is provided, and the amount of received light is further reduced from the first detection position α obtained by the first position detection means 15. After that, the second position detection means 16 is provided which obtains the position where the amount of received light again increases as the second detection position β of the object A.

Incidentally, in this embodiment, for example, the received light amount is reduced to the position where the normalized light amount on the free space side is reduced from [1.0] to [0.825], that is, to the first and second light amount threshold values set in advance. The positions are detected as the first and second detection positions α and β, respectively. Here, the first and second light intensity threshold values are set as the same value [0.825], but may be set as different values. In this embodiment, the output of the line sensor 11 is searched from the free space side, so that the detection of the object A can be performed regardless of the irregular change in the amount of light received on the object A side due to the defect. The first and second detection positions α and β necessary for specifying the portion where the received light amount falls corresponding to the position (edge position) are reliably detected. However, the output of the line sensor 11 may be searched from the object A side. When normalizing the amount of received light, the amount of light in free space may be measured and stored in advance without the object A, and normalization based on this may be performed for detection. You may treat the area | region where the fall of quantity is small as free space.

The defect inspection apparatus for inspecting the defect of the object A using the information of the detection position (first and second detection positions α, β) of the object A detected by the edge sensor 10 is the optical A scanning unit (scanning mechanism) 21 that moves the detection target portion of the detection position of the object A by the head 13 along the edge of the object A is provided. The scanning means 21 may be an object support mechanism (not shown) having a function of translating the object A along the edge thereof. Conversely, the optical head 13 is moved along the edge of the object A. It is also possible to use a head moving mechanism (not shown) for parallel translation. That is, the scanning unit 21 may translate the object A in a direction intersecting the line sensor 11, and conversely, may translate the line sensor 11 along the edge of the object A. .

In addition to the scanning means 21, the defect inspection apparatus is configured to detect the first and second detection positions α and β by the arithmetic unit (CPU) 14 in accordance with the scanning of the position detection target part. Detection means (trend determination means) for detecting the presence or absence of defects such as chips and cracks at the edge of the object A by monitoring the changes in the outputs (first and second detection positions α, β). ) 22. In this embodiment, after the information of the first and second detection positions α and β detected by the edge sensor 10 is once stored in the memory 23, the change pattern of the first and second detection positions. (Trend) is read out to the defect detection means 22 and used for defect inspection.

In the defect detection means (trend determination means) 22, for example, when the change width of the first detection position α or the second detection position β described above exceeds a preset allowable width, this is indicated as “defective”. It is judged as. At the same time, the defect inspection part (scanning position) of the object A when it is determined that “there is a defect” is detected as a defect existing part. The allowable width for the change width of the first detection position α or the second detection position β is set according to the degree of linearity required for the edge of the object A.

Alternatively, the defect detection means (trend determination means) 22 detects, for example, a difference between the first detection position α and the second detection position β as a light amount drop width (light-shielding width) in the light amount distribution pattern described above. Then, a change in the difference between the detection positions α and β (a light intensity drop width) when the edge of the object A is scanned is monitored. When the difference between the detection positions (the amount of decrease in the amount of light) exceeds a preset allowable value, this is determined as “defective”. Also in this case, the defect inspection part (scanning position) of the object A when it is determined that “there is a defect” is detected as a defect existence part. The allowable value for the detection position difference (light intensity drop width) is set according to the degree of linearity required for the edge of the object A.

As described above, in this defect inspection apparatus, the edge sensor 10 detects the detection position of the transparent or translucent object A as the first and second detection positions α and β, respectively, and the position detection target. A state (trend) of the change of the first and second detection positions α and β is monitored while moving the part along the edge. Therefore, according to the present apparatus, when a change in the first or second detection position α, β exceeding a preset allowable value is detected, or between the first detection position α and the second detection position β. When the difference exceeds the allowable width, this can be reliably detected as a defect such as a chip or a crack on the edge of the object A. At the same time, according to this apparatus, it is possible to detect which part of the edge of the object A has a defect such as a chip or a crack.

FIG. 4A shows how the first and second detection positions α and β change when edge detection is performed using a liquid crystal glass with a chip as a sample. In this sample inspection, the first detection position α is hardly changed, but the second detection position β is greatly changed over the width corresponding to the missing portion. FIG. 4B shows how the first and second detection positions α and β change when edge detection is performed using a cracked liquid crystal glass as a sample. In this sample inspection, the first detection position α is hardly changed, but the second detection position β is greatly changed over the width corresponding to the cracked portion.

FIG. 4C shows how the first and second detection positions α and β change when edge detection is performed using a liquid crystal glass having a dent resulting from chipping as a sample. In this sample inspection, a slight change is observed in the recessed portion with respect to the first detection position α, but rather a large change is observed over the width corresponding to the recessed portion with respect to the second detection position β. 5 (a) to 5 (c) correspond to FIGS. 4 (a) to 4 (c), respectively, and the first and first movements of the edge sensor 10 or the translucent body A are taken as the horizontal axis. 2 shows how the two detection positions α and β change. Even when the edge detection result is expressed in this way, it is possible to see the same tendency as the change shown in FIGS. 4 (a) to 4 (c).

Therefore, the edge of the object A is detected using the edge sensor 10 according to the present invention in which the second detection position β is detected in addition to the first detection position α detected by the general edge sensor as described above. According to the defect inspection apparatus according to the present invention, which monitors the state of change in the first and second detection positions α and β when scanning the A minute defect such as a crack can be reliably detected. Moreover, since the location of the defect can also be detected, its practical advantage is tremendous in managing the quality of the liquid crystal glass, for example.

In addition, when a defect is detected, it is desirable that a predetermined event corresponding to the defect is performed. As an event, for example, an operation instruction is given to issue a warning or an alarm, or a removal device that removes the object A from the process as a defect is separately provided, and an instruction to perform the removal process is provided for this. What is necessary is just to comprise so that it may take. As a result, it is possible to easily deal with products having defects.

If there is a defect such as a chip or a crack on the edge of the object A, the amount of received light also changes on the object A side as described with reference to FIGS. Therefore, when it is guaranteed that the transparent or translucent object A is free of dirt and the light quantity in the object A portion (inside the object) is stable, for example, the inside of the normal object A It is also possible to obtain a light amount distribution as shown in FIG. 3A in advance, and inspect the defect by comparing the light amount distribution on the inside of the object A to be inspected with the light amount distribution. When the light quantity distribution on the inner side of the object A to be inspected is obtained as shown in FIGS. 3B to 3D, respectively, when this is different from the light quantity distribution of the normal object A shown in FIG. It is also possible to determine that there is a defect such as chipping or cracking. Further, if this method is used in combination with the above-described method for determining the change in the second detection position, it is possible to further detect a minute defect at the edge of the object A.

The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above. For example, the first and second light intensity threshold values for detecting the first and second detection positions α and β are not specified in [0.825] described above, What is necessary is just to set according to the fall degree of the light quantity in the edge part at the time of detecting the detection position of the translucent object A. FIG. The detection width by the line sensor 11 may be determined according to the distance (working distance) between the line sensor 11 and the object A. In addition, the present invention can be variously modified and implemented without departing from the scope of the invention.
