Abstract
PTFE膜に上昇した圧力を適用することによってPTFE膜の寸法の安定性を改良するための方法である。このプロセスは、既存の方法を使用して作られてたPTFE膜に関連する通常の緩和応力を減少する、および/または、除去する。
Description
本発明は、PTFE膜の寸法の安定性を改良する方法および本発明の方法を使用して作られる寸法的に安定したPTFE膜に方向づけらる。本明細書で記載されたプロセスは、従来の既存の方法を使用して作られたPTFE膜に通常、関連している緩和応力(relaxation stress)を減少する、および/または、除去する。
Claims (20)
- PTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法であって、
a)予め設定された露出時間、PTFE膜を前記PTFE膜の融点より上に上昇した温度に晒す工程と、
b)予め設定された露出時間、前記PTFE膜を上昇した圧力に晒す工程と、
を有し、
前記PTFE膜は、前記上昇した温度と前記上昇した圧力とに同時に晒され、
前記PTFE膜の寸法の安定性への影響は、少なくとも一部が、前記温度と圧力と露出時間との組み合わせによって決定されることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記PTFE膜が約327℃より上の温度まで上昇されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記PTFE膜が約340℃より上の温度まで上昇されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記PTFE膜が約340℃より上で約400℃未満の温度まで上昇されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記PTFE膜が約350℃より上で約360℃未満の温度まで上昇されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記PTFE膜が約360℃より上で約380℃未満の温度まで上昇されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記PTFE膜が約325℃より上で約400℃未満の温度まで上昇されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記PTFE膜が約340℃より上の温度を有するローラを用いて上昇した温度に加熱されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記PTFE膜が約360℃より上の温度を有するローラを用いて上昇した温度に加熱されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記PTFE膜が約327℃より上の温度まで加熱され、同時に、少なくとも1ポンド/平方インチの圧力の下で圧縮されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記PTFE膜が約327℃より上の温度まで加熱され、同時に、少なくとも5ポンド/平方インチの圧力の下で圧縮されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記PTFE膜が約327℃より上の温度まで加熱され、同時に、少なくとも20ポンド/平方インチの圧力の下で圧縮されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記予め設定された露出時間が0.1〜1秒であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 前記予め設定された露出時間が0.05〜0.5秒であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のPTFE膜の寸法の安定性に影響を及ぼす方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法を用いて製造されたPTFE膜。
- 前記PTFE膜は、0.7バールで少なくとも4リットル/分・cm2の空気透過率を有することを特徴とする請求項15に記載のPTFE膜。
- 前記PTFE膜は、少なくとも0.25MFPのコールタ・ポロメータ(Coulter Porometer)を有することを特徴とする請求項15に記載のPTFE膜。
- 前記PTFE膜は、機械方向に10%未満の収縮を有することを特徴とする請求項15に記載のPTFE膜。
- 前記PTFE膜は、機械方向に5%未満の収縮を有することを特徴とする請求項15に記載のPTFE膜。
- PTFE膜の処理方法であって、
a)少なくとも一方向に配向されている、配向したPTFE膜を提供する工程と、
b)前記PTFE膜を1秒未満の期間の少なくとも340℃の温度と、少なくとも1ポンド/平方インチの圧力に、同時に晒す工程と、
を有すること特徴とする方法。
