Description

The present invention relates to a coil device used as an inductor element, a power transmission element, a transformer, or the like, and more particularly to a coil device suitable for high frequency applications.

In recent years, in the field of computers and communication equipment, development of inductors, transformers, and coils suitable for high frequency applications (for example, 100 KHz to several hundreds GHz) has been demanded.

In developing these inductors, transformers and coils, there are few losses in the high frequency band, little magnetic unnecessary radiation, stable inductance frequency characteristics, low cost production, etc. Technical issues must be solved.

Conventionally, in order to reduce the loss in the high frequency band of this kind of inductance, transformer and coil, the development of a high quality core material satisfying various performances required for the core (for example, low hysteresis loss, etc.) There was a tendency to place a heavy weight on (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

JP 2001-237136 A JP 2004-172517 A

However, a coil device using a high-quality core material that satisfies various performances required for the core (for example, low hysteresis loss, etc.) is difficult to manufacture at a low cost. In the coil device that focuses on the shape of the winding, there is still a problem that unnecessary radiation cannot be sufficiently reduced.

The present invention has been made paying attention to the above-mentioned problems, and the object of the present invention is to use an air core or a core material without using a high quality core material. It is an object of the present invention to provide a coil device that has a low loss in a high frequency band, a small amount of unnecessary magnetic radiation, a stable frequency characteristic of inductance, and can be manufactured at low cost.

Other objects and operational effects of the present invention will be easily understood by those skilled in the art by referring to the following description of the specification.

It is considered that the above technical problem can be solved by a coil device having the following configuration.

That is, the coil device according to the present invention is a single layer structure in which a linear conductor is wound around each of two axes parallel to each other so as to be substantially S-shaped and wound one turn at a time. The unit windings are divided so that the axis lines are aligned over a plurality of layers, and the unit windings of all the layers are electrically connected in series.

According to such a configuration, since a magnetic push-pull operation is performed for each unit winding of each layer, a high-quality core material is used even in the case of an air core or a core. Even without this, the loss in the high frequency band is small, the magnetic unnecessary radiation is small, the frequency characteristic of the inductance is stable, and it can be manufactured at low cost.

According to a preferred embodiment, the two rings constituting the unit winding of each layer have the same shape, and the two rings share one straight side, and this straight line The sides are located on a straight bisector of a straight line connecting both axes.

According to such a configuration, since the linear side shared by the two rings is located on the vertical bisector connecting the two axes, the magnetic flux generated from the unit winding of each layer Are added efficiently, thereby promoting the above-described effects.

According to a preferred embodiment, the two rings are composed of two equilateral triangles sharing the base, and the tips of the inner and outer vertices of the equilateral triangle are straight so that all inner angles are 120 degrees. It is cut into a shape.

According to such a configuration, since the straight side shared by the two equilateral triangles is located on the vertical bisector connecting the two axes, it is generated from the unit winding of each layer. The magnetic fluxes are added more efficiently, and the heat generated by the high-frequency current at the apex of the equilateral triangle is also reduced, so that the above-described effects are further promoted.

According to a preferred embodiment, the unit winding of each layer is formed by one conductive wire common to all layers.

According to such a configuration, even in the case of an air core or in the case of a core, there is little loss in a high frequency band and less magnetic unnecessary radiation without using a high quality core material, It is possible to provide a wire-wound type coil device that has stable frequency characteristics of inductance and can be manufactured at low cost.

According to a preferred embodiment, the unit winding of each layer is formed using a multilayer wiring board manufacturing technique.

According to such a configuration, even in the case of an air core or in the case of a core, there is little loss in a high frequency band and less magnetic unnecessary radiation without using a high quality core material, It is possible to provide a thin type coil device with a laminated substrate that has a stable frequency characteristic of inductance and can be manufactured at low cost.

That is, when an S-shaped pattern is adopted as each layer pattern, in addition to the patterns between the upper and lower layers being completely superimposed, if a multilayer substrate manufacturing technique is adopted, as in the case of using a conductive wire, By twisting or bending the wire, the upper and lower wires are not shifted and overlapped, and the parasitic capacitance between the linear conductors is promoted to be uniform, thereby improving the efficiency of the product.

In addition, when the two rings constituting the S-shaped coil are configured by separate single windings, four vias for connecting the upper and lower layers are required, whereas According to the S-shaped pattern of the present invention, the number of vias for interlayer connection is only two, and the number of expensive vias is halved, so that the manufacturing cost can be greatly reduced.

According to a preferred embodiment, the unit winding of each layer is formed using a semiconductor integrated circuit manufacturing technique.

According to such a configuration, even in the case of an air core or in the case of a core, there is little loss in a high frequency band and less magnetic unnecessary radiation without using a high quality core material, It is possible to provide a semiconductor-embedded coil device that has stable frequency characteristics of inductance and can be manufactured at low cost.

That is, when an S-shaped pattern is adopted as each layer pattern, patterns in the upper and lower layers are completely overlapped with each other, and when a semiconductor integrated circuit manufacturing technique is employed, a conductive wire is used. As a result of twisting and bending of the wire, the upper and lower wires do not overlap each other and overlap, facilitating uniform parasitic capacitance between the wire conductors, and moving electrons more smoothly in the semiconductor chip. Together, they improve the efficiency of the product.

According to a preferred embodiment, it is used as a winding of a single-winding transformer or as each winding of a double-winding transformer.

According to such a configuration, even in the case of an air core or in the case of a core, there is little loss in a high frequency band and less magnetic unnecessary radiation without using a high quality core material, It is possible to provide a single-winding transformer or a multiple-winding transformer that has a stable frequency characteristic of inductance and can be manufactured at low cost.

According to the present invention, since a magnetic push-pull operation is performed for each unit winding of each layer, a high-quality core material is not used even in the case of an air core or a core. In both cases, it is possible to provide a coil device that has a small loss in the high frequency band, a small amount of unnecessary magnetic radiation, a stable frequency characteristic of inductance, and can be manufactured at low cost.

Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of a coil device according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

A schematic configuration diagram of a coil device (using conductive wire) according to the present invention is shown in FIG. As shown in the figure, the coil device 1 includes two axes Z1 and Z2 that are parallel to each other so that a conductive wire (e.g., enameled wire, litz wire, etc.) c is generally S-shaped as a whole. A unit winding W for one layer is formed by winding the winding direction counterclockwise and clockwise one turn at a time, and this unit winding W is aligned with the axes Z1 and Z2 over a plurality of layers. They are laminated while being electrically arranged, and are electrically arranged so that unit windings of all layers are in series.

In the figure, reference numerals W1, W2, W3... Wn are unit windings of the first layer, the second layer, the third layer,. Each of these unit windings W1, W2, W3... Wn has a first ring a1, a2, a3... An that is wound only one turn counterclockwise, and only one turn clockwise. It is comprised from the wound 2nd ring b1, b2, b3 ... bn.

That is, the unit winding W1 of the first layer is wound only one turn clockwise around the first ring a1 and the straight axis Z2 wound around the straight axis Z1 counterclockwise. Second ring b1. Similarly, the unit winding W2 of the second layer is wound only one turn clockwise around the first ring a2 and the axis Z2 wound around the axis Z1 by one turn counterclockwise. And a second ring b2. Hereinafter, the unit winding W3 in the third layer to the unit winding Wn in the nth layer are similarly configured.

Then, the winding start end of the conductive wire c is led out to the first coil terminal T1, and the winding end end is led out to the second coil terminal T2.

For convenience of explanation, it should be noted that the coil device 1 shown in the three-dimensional view of FIG. 4A is abbreviated as shown in the schematic diagram of FIG.

FIG. 2 shows an explanatory view of a main part of the coil device (using conductive wire) shown in FIG. As shown in the top view of FIG. 5A, in this example, the first ring a1 and the second ring b2 are both substantially circular, and in FIG. As shown in the longitudinal sectional view, the first rings a1, a2, and a3 and the second rings b1, b2, and b3 that constitute the unit windings W1, W2, and W3 of each layer are formed of one shared part ab1, ab2 and ab3. In this example, the shared portions ab1, ab2, and ab3 are defined as one point where the wires intersect each other.

The first rings a1, a2, a3... An and the second rings b1, b2, b3... Bn constituting the unit windings W1, W2, W3. In the example, a perfect circle shape having the same radius), when the axial cores Z1 and Z2 are aligned and overlapped vertically, as shown in FIG. 2B, each unit winding W1, W2 , W3... Wn are shared in a line in a direction along the axis (vertical direction in this example).

Therefore, the magnetic flux Φ generated by the currents flowing through the unit windings W1, W2, W3... Wn of each layer is upward or downward in the axis Z1 and downward or upward in the axis Z2 without canceling each other. And a phase difference of 180 ° from each other. By applying a high-frequency voltage, a magnetic push-pull operation is performed between the first axis Z1 and the second axis Z2.

As a result, as is clear from the experimental results described later (see FIG. 9), according to the coil device 1 using the conductive wire shown in FIG. Even without using a high quality core material, there are few practical effects such as low loss in high frequency band, low magnetic unnecessary radiation, stable frequency characteristics of inductance, and low cost production. It is obtained.

FIG. 3 shows an explanatory diagram of a more specific example of the coil device (using conductive wire). As shown in FIG. 1, the coil device 10 is configured by accommodating a coil assembly 13 in a coil case 11.

The coil case 11 can be formed using a magnetic material such as ferrite or a non-magnetic material such as ceramic or plastic, and a space 12 is provided in the coil case 11. A first columnar core 15 and a second columnar core 16 each having a predetermined cross-sectional shape are integrally formed in the void 12. When the coil case 11 is made of ferrite, the first columnar core 15 and the second columnar core 16 are also integrally formed of ferrite. When the case is made of plastic or ceramic, the columnar cores 15 and 16 are also integrally formed of plastic or ceramic.

The coil assembly 13 is obtained by winding a conductive wire c around hollow bobbins 15 ′ and 16 ′ formed on a plastic mounting plate 14. The coil assembly 13 is housed in the coil case 10 by covering the columnar cores 15 and 16 in the coil case 11 after winding work outside the case.

That is, the coil assembly 13 is formed by winding the conductive wire c around the two bobbins 15 ′ and 16 ′ in different turns so as to form a substantially S shape as a whole. The unit windings are composed of layers, the unit windings are stacked over a plurality of layers while aligning the axes, and are electrically arranged so that the unit windings of all the layers are in series.

The coil assembly 13 thus completed is returned to the space 12 in the coil case 11 again as indicated by an arrow A2 in the drawing, and is then coiled using a known method such as adhesive or resin sealing. It is housed and fixed in the case 11.

FIG. 4 shows an explanatory view of a main part in one embodiment of FIG. As shown in the figure, the first and second columnar cores 15 and 16 or the bobbins 15 ′ and 16 ′ are opposed to each other through a gap corresponding to the thickness of the wire c, and the cross-sectional shape thereof is an irregular hexagon. It is made into a shape. More specifically, the cross-section is basically an equilateral triangle, and each of the three vertices is cut perpendicularly to the axis so that all the internal angles are 120 °, (See FIG. 4B).

Then, the conductive wire c is wound in a substantially S shape around the first and second columnar cores 15.16 having such an irregular hexagonal cross section, as shown in FIG. In addition, the shapes of the two rings a1 and b1 constituting the unit winding W1 are two substantially equilateral triangles sharing the base.

At this time, the first and second columnar cores 15 and 16 or the bobbins 15 'and 16' around which the wire c is wound have a deformed hexagonal shape as described above. Although a1 and b1 are equilateral triangles as a whole, their vertices are bent with an internal angle of 120 °.

In other words, the two rings (a1 to an, b1 to bn) constituting the unit windings W1 to Wn of each layer are both substantially equilateral triangles, and the two rings a1 and b1 are one straight line. The shared portion ab1 serving as the side is shared, and the shared portion ab1 serving as the straight side is located on the vertical bisector connecting both the axes Z1 and Z2. Moreover, the two rings a1 and b1 consist of two equilateral triangles sharing the base, and the tips of the inner and outer vertices of the equilateral triangle are cut linearly so that all inner angles are 120 °. Will be.

By having such a configuration, according to the embodiment of the coil device shown in FIG. 3, when the two rings a1 and b1 are other polygons (for example, a square, a hexagon, an octagon, etc.) In comparison, the concentration efficiency of the magnetic flux on the axes Z1 and Z2 is the highest, and the two rings a1 and b1 constituting the unit windings of each layer are 120 ° in all internal angles. There is also an advantage that heat is hardly generated at the apex and there is little loss.

As a result, according to the coil device of the embodiment shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, the loss in the high frequency band is small, the magnetic unnecessary radiation is small, and the frequency of the inductance is reduced without using a high quality core material. The advantage that the characteristics are stable is obtained.

FIG. 5 shows an application example of the coil device (using conductive wire) according to the present invention to a compound winding transformer. The coil notation in the figure adopts the abbreviation described earlier with reference to FIG.

In the application example (No. 1) to the multi-winding transformer shown in FIG. 5A, two or more sets of the coil devices described above are provided, and they are distributed in the axial direction. In this example, the first coil device is configured by arranging a first ring a11, a12, a13, a14 and a second ring b11, b12, b13 between a pair of coil terminals T11, T12. Is done. The second coil device is configured by connecting a first ring a21, a22, a23 and a second ring b21, b22, b23 between a pair of coil terminals T21, T22. For example, the first coil device becomes the primary winding of the transformer, and the second coil device becomes the secondary winding of the transformer.

FIG. 2B shows an application example (No. 2) to a compound winding transformer. In this example, a multi-core electric wire including two or more core wires insulated from each other is used as the conductive wire, and this is interposed between the first axis Z1 and the second axis Z2. A multi-winding transformer is configured by winding in an S-shape. That is, the first coil device is configured by connecting the first rings a31, a32, a33, a34 and the second rings b31, b32, b33 between a pair of coil terminals T31, T32. The second coil device is configured by connecting a first ring a41, a42, a43, a44 and a second ring b41, b42, b43 between a pair of external terminals T41, T42. For example, the first coil device becomes the primary winding of the transformer, and the second coil device becomes the secondary winding of the transformer.

In the example of FIG. 5, only the case of the multi-winding transformer has been described. However, it is easy for those skilled in the art to configure a single-winding transformer by taking out the intermediate tap from the middle of the first coil device. Will be understood.

A more specific embodiment applied to a multi-winding transformer of a coil device (using a conductive wire) is shown in FIG. The illustrated compound transformer 20 is configured by combining two sets of coil devices 10A and 10B. The structure of these coil devices 10A and 10B is the same as that of the coil device 10 described with reference to FIGS.

That is, the coil device 10A is configured by accommodating and fixing the coil assembly 13A in the space 12A of the coil case 11A, and the coil device 10B is configured to accommodate and fix the coil assembly 13B in the space 12B of the case 11B. Configured. Then, these coil devices 10A, 10B are opposed to each other so that the columnar cores 15A, 16A are in abutted state, and both the cases 11A, 11B are coupled face to face, thereby the coil shown in FIG. 5 (a). The multi-winding transformer 20 having the arrangement is completed.

Even with this multi-winding transformer, magnetic push-pull operation is performed efficiently while concentrating the magnetic flux at high density, so there is little loss in the high-frequency band and no magnetic force without using a high-quality core material. There are advantages that there is little unnecessary radiation and the frequency characteristic of the inductance is stable.

Next, the block diagram of one Example of a coil apparatus (multilayer wiring board manufacturing technique) is shown by FIG. As shown in the figure, the coil device 30 includes seven wiring boards, that is, a first layer substrate 31-1, a second layer substrate 31-2, a third layer substrate 31-3, and a fourth layer substrate 31. -4, the fifth layer substrate 31-5, the sixth layer substrate 31-6, and the seventh layer substrate 31-7 are laminated, and an insulating coating layer 34 is further laminated on the upper surface side, and on the lower surface side. The second power supply layer 33 and the insulating coating layer 35 are stacked.

Two cylindrical cores 37a and 37b which are parallel to each other are penetrated and fixed to these substrate laminates. These cylindrical cores 37a and 37b are formed using a magnetic material (for example, ferrite or the like), and the cross section thereof is a substantially equilateral triangle shape, so that one base is parallel to each other, that is, two regular cores are formed. The triangles are positioned in a back-to-back orientation via the bases.

The conductive thin film (for example, copper foil or aluminum foil) of the first layer substrate 31-1 includes first magnetic flux transmission holes 36a and second magnetic flux transmission holes 36b corresponding to the axial positions of the cylindrical cores 37a and 37b. Except for this part, it is left in a substantially solid state (the entire surface is uniform), and this functions as the first power supply layer 32.

The conductive thin films of the second layer substrate 31-2 to the seventh layer substrate 31-7 are etched to form a substantially S-shaped conductor (for example, copper foil or aluminum foil) pattern corresponding to the unit winding. Is formed.

In the drawing, an S-shaped conductor pattern corresponding to the unit winding W1 of the first layer is drawn in the space above the laminated section. As is apparent from the figure, the S-shaped conductor pattern corresponding to the unit winding W1 of the first layer is formed by winding the linear conductor around the first cylindrical core 37a by one turn counterclockwise. Similarly, it has a first ring a1 and a second ring b1 formed by winding a linear conductor around the second cylindrical core 37b clockwise by one turn. Both of these two rings a1 and b1 have an equilateral triangle shape, and a linear shared portion ab1 is formed by sharing the bases of each other. The linear sharing part ab1 is arranged so as to be positioned on a perpendicular bisector connecting the axial centers of the two cylindrical cores 37a and 37b.

Of course, even in this example, the corners of the conductor pattern corresponding to the vertices of the equilateral triangle are devised so that all internal angles are 120 ° in order to suppress overheating due to the application of high-frequency current. Yes.

The S-shaped conductor patterns corresponding to the unit windings formed on each of the second layer substrate 31-2 to the seventh layer substrate 31-7 are connected to each other by known interlayer connection means (in this example, the via 38 is used). Thus, the unit windings W1 to W6 of each layer are electrically connected in series from the top.

As a result, when viewed as a whole, the coil device 30 is wound one turn at a time with different winding directions around two axes parallel to each other so as to form a substantially S-shaped linear conductor as a whole. The unit winding for one layer is laminated with the unit windings aligned with the axes over a plurality of layers, and the unit windings of all layers are electrically connected in series. It will be a thing.

Therefore, according to the coil device 30 having such a structure, even in the case of an air core or in the case of a core, there is little loss in the high frequency band without using a high quality core material, and the magnetic device 30 is magnetic. It is possible to realize a thin-type coil device by stacking substrates that has no unnecessary radiation, has a stable frequency characteristic of inductance, and can be manufactured at low cost.

Although the wire winding type coil device and the thin type coil device by stacking the substrate have been described above, the coil device of the present invention has a similar structure by using a semiconductor integrated circuit manufacturing technology. Those skilled in the art will readily understand that it can also be realized as a coil device.

Finally, the performance test result of the coil device according to the present invention will be described. An explanatory view of the coil device to be tested is shown in FIG. For verification of the coil of the present invention, a comparison target coil device shown in FIG. 5A and an example coil device shown in FIG.

As the structure on which the linear conductor is to be wound, a structure in which two cylindrical cores parallel to each other are connected to each other with a yoke and fixed with a rubber band is adopted. At this time, the two cylindrical cores were made of ferrite, 12 mm in diameter, and 50 mm in length. On the other hand, as the conductive wire to be wound around these cylindrical cores, an enamel wire having a diameter of 0.7 mm and an enamel coating thickness of 2 μm was used.

Then, as shown in FIG. 6A, a coil device to be compared is obtained by winding a conductive wire in a spiral shape for 36 turns only on one of the two cylindrical cores. At the same time, as shown in FIG. 5B, the conductive wire material is alternately wound around both cylindrical cores in opposite directions in a turn for a total of 36 turns (18 turns × 2) in an S-shape. Example coil device. That is, the performances of the conductive wires are compared under the same conditions (36 turns).

The graph of FIG. 9 shows the result of measuring the frequency characteristics of the inductance using such a comparison object coil device and the example coil device. As is apparent from the graph, in the case of the coil device of the example, the inductance value sharply decreases in the band of about 37 KHz or less, whereas in the region of 37 KHz to several tens of MHz, the inductance value is The value was almost constant (400 μH), and it was confirmed that the stability against frequency fluctuation was good.

In contrast, in the case of the coil device to be compared, the inductance value is relatively stable (450 μH) in the region below 37 KHz, but the inductance value increases after that. Although it shows a peak at about 1.5 MHz, it has been confirmed that it gradually decreases in a frequency band higher than that and becomes almost zero around 10 MHz. By the way, an example was also tried in which the winding direction was alternately changed by 3 turns, but the frequency characteristics of the inductance were significantly deteriorated compared to the case where the winding direction was changed by 1 turn. Was confirmed.

Moreover, when the temperature of both coils was compared during the above test, it was confirmed that the coil device of Example was clearly less heated than the coil device to be compared. In addition, it was confirmed by another test that unnecessary radiation was clearly less in the example coil device than in the comparison target coil device.

In the above embodiment, the shapes of the two rings are the same. However, what is important in the present invention is that the shared portions ab1, ab2, ab3... Are aligned in a line in the stacking direction. It was confirmed by a further test by the present inventors that the shape and size of the two rings may be different on the left and right. This is shown in the second and third embodiments of FIGS.

According to the present invention, even in the case of an air core or a core, the loss in the high frequency band is small, the magnetic unnecessary radiation is small, and the inductance is reduced without using a high quality core material. It is possible to provide a coil device that has stable frequency characteristics and can be manufactured at low cost.
