車両用エンジン(E)の排気マニフォルド(1)の排気集合部(1a)から大気開放口(2)に至る排気管(3)の中間部に消音器(6)を設けてなり,この消音器(6)が,前記排気管(3)の途中に介入する内筒(10)と,この内筒(10)を収容してそれとの間に膨張室(11)を画成するハウジング(12)とを備え,前記内筒(10)には,その内部を前記膨張室(11)に連通する小孔(21,21…)群を設けた,車両の排気消音装置において,
前記消音器(6)を,排気管(3)内に生じる定在波(W)の腹位置(P)から排気管(3)の長手方向に沿って偏倚した位置に配置する一方,前記内筒(10)上で前記小孔(21,21…)群を前記腹位置(P)寄りに偏在させたことを特徴とする,車両の排気消音装置。
