Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a putter type golf club.
Hereinafter, the height of the bottom surface of the head from the ground contact surface is also referred to as “floating”. Hereinafter, the stability of the head posture at the time of addressing is also referred to as “sitting”. These terms are expressions that have become established in the art.
The head according to Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2005-199073 has a heavy toe portion and heel portion of the head. When the toe portion and the heel portion have large floats, the head tends to tilt toward the toe side or the heel side, and the head sits worse. On the other hand, when the toe portion and the heel portion have small floats, the sitting can be improved. However, in this case, the toe portion or the heel portion tends to contact the ground during the swing. This contact prevents a smooth swing.
An object of the present invention is to provide a putter-type golf club that is easy to sit on and can swing smoothly.

The reference ground surface s includes a straight line connecting the point (c3) and the point (c4) and is a plane parallel to the straight line connecting the point (h5) and the point (t5). The height H at each point is the height from the reference ground plane s. The height H is measured in a direction perpendicular to the reference ground plane s.
The toe-heel direction can be defined as a direction parallel to the reference ground plane s and parallel to the
When swinging out worsens, directionality and distance characteristics (easy to adjust the distance) decrease. The difference [H (h4) −H (c4)] is preferably 0 mm or more, more preferably 0.3 mm or more, and 0.6 mm from the viewpoint of improving swinging by suppressing contact with the heel side during the stroke. The above is particularly preferable. When sitting down, the head state (head posture) changes every time addressing is performed. If the sitting is worse, the head tends to tilt in the toe-heel direction at the start of hitting. If the sitting is worse, the directionality and the distance are reduced. From the viewpoint of improving sitting, the difference [H (h4) −H (c4)] is preferably 1.5 mm or less, and more preferably 1 mm or less.
The difference [H (t4) −H (c4)] is preferably 0 mm or more, more preferably 0.3 mm or more, and 0.6 mm from the viewpoint of improving swinging by suppressing the contact on the toe side during the stroke. Particularly preferred. From the viewpoint of improving sitting, the difference [H (t5) −H (c4)] is preferably 3 mm or less, and more preferably 2 mm or less.
In the second half of the hit ball, the head posture is higher on the front side (face side) and lower on the rear side (back side). The second half of the hit ball is the second half of the impact and the part after the impact of the stroke. The second half of the impact is the second half of the time when the club is in contact with the ball. In the second half of the hit ball, the rear portion of the lower surface of the head approaches the ground. As the stroke progresses, the part approaching the ground moves backward. In the second half of the hit ball, the point (c3), the point (h3), and the point (t3) approach the ground. In the second half of the hit ball, the point (c2), the point (h2), and the point (t2) approach the ground. In the second half of the hit ball, the point (c1), the point (h1), and the point (t1) approach the ground.
The influence of H (c3) and H (h3) is large in the second half of the hit ball. When the difference [H (h3) -H (c3)] is excessively large, the degree of freedom in the inclination angle of the head in the toe-heel direction is excessively large in the second half of the hit ball. The same applies when the difference [H (t3) −H (c3)] is excessively large. A golfer easily tilts the head in the toe-heel direction due to the degree of freedom. Due to this inclination, the posture of the head at the address is difficult to be reproduced by impact.
When the difference [H (h3) −H (c3)] is excessively large, the head tends to tilt in the toe / heel direction in the second half of the hitting ball, and the directionality and the distance characteristic are lowered. The above is particularly preferable. The difference [H (h3) −H (c3)] is preferably 5 mm or less, and more preferably 3.5 mm or less from the viewpoint of improving sitting and suppressing the inclination in the toe-heel direction in the second half of the hit ball.

The difference [H (t3) −H (t5)] is preferably 0 mm or more, more preferably 0.3 mm or more, and 0.7 mm from the viewpoint of improving the swing-out by suppressing the contact on the back side during the stroke. The above is particularly preferable. The difference [H (t3) −H (t5)] is preferably 4 mm or less, and more preferably 2.5 mm or less, from the viewpoint of improving sitting and suppressing the inclination in the toe-heel direction in the second half of the hit ball.

When the difference [(A1)-(B)] is excessively large, the degree of freedom in the inclination angle of the head in the toe-heel direction is large in the second half of the hit ball. A golfer can easily tilt the head in the toe-heel direction due to the degree of freedom.

When the difference [(A1)-(B)] is excessively large, the head tends to tilt in the toe-heel direction in the second half of the hit ball, and the directionality and the distance characteristic are deteriorated. The difference [(A1)-(B)] is preferably greater than 0 mm, more preferably greater than 1 mm, and even more preferably greater than 2 mm from the viewpoint of improving the swing-out by suppressing contact on the heel side during the stroke. 3.5 mm or more is particularly preferable. The difference [(A1)-(B)] is preferably 15 mm or less, and more preferably 9.5 mm or less from the viewpoint of improving sitting and suppressing the inclination in the toe-heel direction in the second half of the hit ball.

From the viewpoint of improving sitting, a straight line connecting the point (c3) and the point (c4) is preferably included in the lower surface of the
In FIG. 4, what is indicated by a double arrow L1 is the maximum width of the head in the toe-heel direction. From the viewpoint of improving sitting and increasing the moment of inertia of the head to improve the directionality, the width L1 is preferably 70 mm or more, more preferably 80 mm or more, and particularly preferably 90 mm or more. If the head weight becomes excessively large, the swing-out becomes worse and it becomes difficult to finely adjust the hitting speed, so that the directionality and the distance characteristic are lowered. From the viewpoint of improving swinging and suppressing an excessive increase in weight, the width L1 is preferably equal to or less than 150 mm, more preferably equal to or less than 130 mm, and particularly preferably equal to or less than 110 mm.
In FIG. 4, what is indicated by a double-headed arrow L3 is the maximum width of the head in the face-back direction. From the viewpoint of improving sitting and increasing the moment of inertia of the head to enhance the directionality, the width L3 is preferably 60 mm or more, more preferably 70 mm or more, and particularly preferably 80 mm or more. From the viewpoint of improving swinging and suppressing an excessive increase in weight, the width L3 is preferably equal to or less than 140 mm, more preferably equal to or less than 120 mm, and particularly preferably equal to or less than 100 mm.
In FIG. 4, what is indicated by a double-headed arrow L4 is the length in the face-back direction from the point (c1) to the point (c4). When the length L4 is excessively small, the degree of freedom of inclination in the toe / heel direction in the second half of the hit ball is increased. From the viewpoint of suppressing the inclination of the toe-heel direction in the latter half of the hit ball and increasing the completion moment to increase the directionality, the length L4 is preferably 40 mm or more, more preferably 50 mm or more, and particularly preferably 60 mm or more. From the viewpoint of improving swinging and suppressing excessive weight increase, the width L4 is preferably equal to or less than 120 mm, more preferably equal to or less than 100 mm, and particularly preferably equal to or less than 80 mm.
In FIG. 4, what is indicated by a double-headed arrow L5 is the length in the face-back direction from the
In FIG. 4, the double arrow L0 indicates the toe-heel direction length from the point (c4) to the point (h5). This length L0 is also the toe-heel direction length from the point (c4) to the point (t5). From the viewpoint of improving sitting and increasing the moment of inertia of the head to improve the directionality, the width L0 is preferably 25 mm or more, more preferably 30 mm or more, and particularly preferably 35 mm or more. From the viewpoint of improving swing-out and suppressing excessive weight increase, the width L0 is preferably 90 mm or less, more preferably 70 mm or less, and particularly preferably 50 mm or less.
In FIG. 8, what is indicated by a double-headed arrow θ is an angle formed by a straight line Ls perpendicular to the reference ground plane s and a straight line Lc connecting the point (c5) and the face center fc. The angle θ is a loft angle with respect to the reference ground plane s. When the angle θ is small, the loft angle with respect to the vertical direction tends to be negative in impact. Due to this negative loft angle, an impact is made with the ball pressed against the ground. This impact hinders smooth rolling, hinders smooth strokes, and deteriorates distance and directionality. From the viewpoint of suppressing an excessively small loft angle with respect to the vertical direction in impact, the angle θ is preferably 0 degree or more, more preferably 1 degree or more, and particularly preferably 2 degrees or more. If the angle θ is too large, the ball will bounce, etc., and smooth rolling cannot be obtained, resulting in a decrease in distance and directionality. In terms of impact, from the viewpoint of suppressing an excessively large loft angle with respect to the vertical direction, the angle θ is preferably 8 degrees or less, more preferably 6 degrees or less, and particularly preferably 5 degrees or less.
