Description

The present invention relates to an electric power steering device for a vehicle, for example, and relates to a power steering device capable of adjusting a backlash between gears in a reduction mechanism.

As a conventional power steering device, for example, a reduction mechanism comprising a worm wheel provided on the outer peripheral side of the steering shaft, and a worm shaft meshing with the worm wheel and having one end connected to an electric motor, There is known an electric power steering device that assists the steering force by applying an auxiliary torque corresponding to the rotational torque of the steering shaft by the driving force of the electric motor transmitted through the speed reduction mechanism.

In such an electric power steering device, when the backlash between each tooth portion of the worm wheel and the worm shaft is large, the rattling noise of the worm wheel and the worm shaft is generated by the vibration transmitted from the wheel. In order to solve this problem, for example, a power steering device that can adjust the backlash of the speed reduction mechanism described in Patent Document 1 below has been proposed.

This power steering device has a concave groove that holds a bearing press-fitted and fixed to the tip of the worm shaft at one end, and a cylinder having a first cam surface that is inclined along the axial direction at the other end. A first cam member having a shape and a pair of the first cam member are provided, and a second cam surface corresponding to the first cam surface is formed on one end surface and engaged with the first cam member. A so-called swash plate cam mechanism comprising a cylindrical second cam member, a biasing member for biasing the second cam member in the axial direction (first cam member side), and the biasing member as a second cam An adjusting screw that adjusts the urging force of the urging member by being pressed against the member.

Then, by advancing the adjusting screw, the urging force of the urging member that urges the second cam member in the axial direction is applied to the swash plate cam mechanism in a direction perpendicular to the axis, that is, in the radial direction of the worm wheel. In other words, the tip of the worm shaft is biased toward the worm wheel as the first cam member is biased in the direction perpendicular to the axis.

With such a configuration, the biasing force of the biasing member, that is, the axial pressing force with respect to the second cam is adjusted by the amount of advancement and retraction of the adjustment screw, thereby adjusting the radial deflection amount of the worm shaft. The backlash between the tooth portions of the worm wheel and the worm shaft can be adjusted.
JP 2002-145082 A

However, in the conventional power steering device, the urging force by the urging member is converted only to the radial force of the worm wheel by the swash plate cam mechanism, and for example, a regulating force is applied in the thickness direction of the worm wheel. Therefore, the pressing force merely presses the worm shaft against the worm wheel, and may not necessarily match the meshing direction of the worm shaft and the worm wheel. As a result, there has been a problem that sufficient meshing efficiency between the tooth portions of the worm wheel and the worm shaft cannot be obtained.

The present invention has been devised by paying attention to such a technical problem, and provides a power steering device capable of ensuring sufficient meshing efficiency between the teeth of the worm wheel and the worm shaft. is there.

The invention according to claim 1 is a power steering device comprising a worm gear mechanism comprising a worm wheel linked to a steering shaft, and a worm shaft housed in a housing and meshing with the worm wheel. A holding member that holds one end of the worm shaft, an adjustment member that adjusts an axial position of the holding member, and an outer peripheral side of the holding member, and the worm moves as the adjustment member moves forward A guide projection that biases one end of the shaft through a taper surface in a meshing direction with the worm wheel via the holding member, and the worm wheel in the worm shaft as the adjustment member moves forward and backward The feature is that the amount of deviation in the meshing direction can be adjusted.

According to this invention, one end of the worm shaft is pressed toward the worm wheel by the advancement and retraction of the adjustment member, so that the worm shaft can be biased in the meshing direction of the respective teeth with the worm wheel. The meshing efficiency of the worm gear mechanism can be improved.

Further, since the amount of deviation of the worm shaft in the meshing direction with the worm wheel can be adjusted by adjusting the advance / retreat amount of the adjustment member, the backlash of the worm gear mechanism is set to a desired value (range). can do.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, the guide protrusion is provided at a position opposite to the meshing portion of the worm shaft and the worm wheel with the worm shaft interposed therebetween, and the guide is moved when the adjustment member is advanced. The taper surface of the protrusion is provided so as to be in sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the holding member.

According to the present invention, as the adjustment member advances, the holding member slides and advances along the axial direction, so that the pressing force by the adjustment member acts on one end portion of the worm shaft, This pressing force is decomposed by the tapered surface of the guide projection, and a force in the direction perpendicular to the axis, that is, the worm wheel side acts as a component of the reaction force. As a result, the direction of the combined vector of these forces coincides with the meshing direction of the worm gear mechanism, so that the meshing efficiency of the worm gear mechanism can be improved.

According to a third aspect of the present invention, the holding member is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape, while the tapered surface of the guide protrusion is formed in a substantially arc shape along the outer peripheral surface of the holding member and It is characterized by being formed in an inclined shape along the axial direction.

According to this invention, the substantially cylindrical holding member is pushed in the meshing direction of the worm gear mechanism by the tapered surface of the guide protrusion formed in a substantially arc shape along the outer peripheral surface of the holding member. In addition to the pressure, a force in the thickness direction of the worm wheel, that is, a force (centripetal force) for holding the holding member at the axial center position of the worm shaft is applied. As a result, the resultant force of the force acting on one end of the worm shaft acts on the center in the width direction of the outer peripheral surface of the worm wheel, so that the worm shaft is more reliably pressed toward the meshing direction with the worm wheel. Thus, the meshing efficiency of the worm gear mechanism is further improved.

Embodiments of a power steering apparatus according to the present invention will be described below in detail with reference to the drawings. In the present embodiment, the power steering device is applied to, for example, an electric rack and pinion type steering device for a vehicle.

As shown in FIG. 5, the power steering device 1 includes a steering shaft 3 coupled to the steering wheel 2, an input shaft 4 coupled to the steering shaft 3, and a torsion bar (not shown) on the input shaft 4. An output shaft 5 connected to the coaxial line so as to be relatively rotatable, a pinion gear formed on the front end side, and a rack shaft 6 in which a rack gear meshing with the pinion gear of the output shaft 5 is formed in a predetermined range in the axial direction; Tie rods 7 and 7 for connecting knuckles (not shown) connected to both ends of the rack shaft 6 and the wheels WL and WR are provided.

As is well known, when the steering wheel 2 is rotated, the input shaft 4 is rotated in synchronization with the steering shaft 3 to twist the torsion bar, and the elastic force of the torsion bar causes the input shaft 4 to rotate. Following this, the output shaft 5 rotates. Then, since the rotational movement of the output shaft 5 is converted into the linear movement of the rack shaft 5 by the rack and pinion structure, the rack shaft 6 moves in the left-right direction, so that the knuckle is moved left and right via the tie rods 7 and 7. The two wheels WL and WR are steered.

The power steering device 1 includes a housing 11 provided on the outer peripheral side of the connecting portion of the input shaft 4 and the output shaft 5, and is accommodated in the housing 11 so that the relative rotational displacement between the input shaft 4 and the output shaft 5 is achieved. And an assist torque corresponding to the steering torque of the input shaft 4 is applied to the output shaft 5 to assist the steering force.

As shown in FIG. 1, the housing 11 has a concave groove formed in the upper end surface in the drawing, and a control circuit 13 for driving and controlling the electric motor 9 is accommodated in the concave groove, and the opening portion is a side housing. 12 is occluded.

The speed reduction mechanism 10 is connected to a lower end portion of the drive shaft 9a of the electric motor 9 via a connecting member 14, and a worm shaft 15 having a tooth portion (worm) 15a formed in a predetermined axial range. The worm wheel 16 is engaged with and fixed to the outer peripheral portion of the output shaft 5 and has a tooth portion 16a meshing with the tooth portion 15a of the worm shaft 15 on the outer periphery.

The housing 11 is formed so as to penetrate the coaxial line of the drive shaft 9a of the electric motor 9, and a shaft accommodating portion 21 that accommodates the worm shaft 15 and a predetermined range in the circumferential direction face the shaft accommodating portion 21. And a gear accommodating portion 22 for accommodating the worm wheel 16 is provided.

A pin insertion hole 15d is formed through 15c in a direction perpendicular to the axis.

The connecting member 14 is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape, and a pin locking hole 14a corresponding to the pin insertion hole 15d of the worm shaft 15 is formed through the lower end portion of the peripheral wall in the figure, while the inner periphery of the upper end portion is formed. A serration groove is formed on the surface. The connecting member 14 is locked and fixed by a pin 19 having a lower end fitted into the upper end 15c of the worm shaft 15 and press-fitted from the pin insertion hole 15d into the pin locking hole 14a. On the other hand, the upper end portion is serrated by engaging with a serration groove formed in the lower end portion of the drive shaft 9a, and the drive shaft 9a and the worm shaft 15 are connected on a coaxial line.

The connecting member 14 has a second bearing 18 press-fitted and fixed to the outer peripheral portion thereof, and the second bearing 18 is a concave second bearing holding portion formed in the upper end side opening 24 of the shaft accommodating portion 21. The connecting member 14, that is, the lower end portion of the drive shaft 9a and the upper end portion 15c of the worm shaft 15 are rotatably supported by being fitted and held by 23a.

Each of the first and second bearings 17 and 18 is a ball bearing composed of a plurality of balls, an inner race that holds each of the balls, and an outer race that protects the inner race. .

As shown in FIG. 2, the lower end side opening 23 of the shaft housing portion 21 is formed in a stepped diameter increasing shape downward in the axial direction, and an enlarged diameter portion 24 a facing the lower end portion 15 b of the worm shaft 15, A large diameter portion formed on the lower end side of the enlarged diameter portion 24a, and an internal thread 24b is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the large diameter portion. The adjusting member 29 is formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape, and has an external thread 29 a that is screwed to the internal thread 24 b on the outer peripheral surface, and an upper end surface that is in contact with a lower end surface of the holding member 27. The adjusting member 29 moves forward and backward in the axial direction by engaging and rotating a hexagonal wrench tool or the like in a hexagonal groove 29b formed on the outer bottom surface. The fixed lock nut 30 is fixed to prevent rotation.

As shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, the guide member 31 is formed, for example, from a sintered material or a synthetic resin material in a substantially arc shape, and the inner peripheral surface 32 a of the lower end 32 is formed in parallel with the outer peripheral surface. At the same time, the inner peripheral surface of the upper end portion 33 is formed in a fan shape with a cross section formed inwardly protruding.

The lower end portion 32 is set to have a thickness dimension substantially the same as the radial groove depth dimension of the circular arc groove 24c, and the curvature of the inner peripheral surface 32a is the curvature of the inner peripheral surface of the enlarged diameter portion 24a. Is set so that the inner diameter of the enlarged-diameter portion 24a is uniform when attached to the arc groove 24c.

The upper end portion 33 has a flat cross section provided in an inclined shape so that the inner peripheral surface gradually protrudes toward the upper end side so that the upper end edge 33a protrudes inward from the inner peripheral surface 32a of the lower end portion 32. A tapered surface 34 is formed. Further, the taper surface 34 is set to have the same curvature as that of the inner peripheral surface of the lower end 32, and the taper angle α is set to 10.2 °.

In this way, the holding member 27 advances in the axial direction by screwing the adjusting member 29, and is pushed and guided in the right direction in FIG. 1 and FIG. It is like that. That is, the radial deviation amount of the holding member 27 is 0. 0 per unit rotation angle of the adjustment member 29 based on the relationship between the taper angle α of the upper end portion 33 of the guide member 31 and the screw pitch of the adjustment member 29. It is set to 5 μm.

Next, the characteristic operation of the power steering apparatus 1 according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS.

First, if the backlash between the tooth portions 15a and 16a of the worm shaft 15 and the worm wheel 16 is excessive, a rattling sound is generated when the tooth portions 15a and 16a collide with each other due to vibration during traveling. If it is too small, the meshing resistance increases and causes the driver to become tired. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust to an appropriate backlash range. In general, an appropriate range of backlash is set to 0 to 10 μm.

Therefore, the backlash adjusting mechanism 25 loosens the lock nut 30 and rotates the adjusting member 29 clockwise when the backlash becomes excessive due to wear of the tooth portions 15a and 16a of the worm shaft 15 and the worm wheel 16. The holding member 27 is advanced by a predetermined amount against the urging force of the urging member 26. Then, a pressing force F <b> 1 upward in the axial direction acts on the lower end portion 15 b of the worm shaft 15 through the third bearing 17 as the holding member 27 advances. At the same time, as the holding member 27 slides and advances along the axial direction, the tapered surface 27c of the holding member 27 comes into pressure contact with the tapered surface 34 of the guide member 31, so that the reaction force due to the pressing force F1 is increased. By being decomposed by the tapered surface 34, a force F2 in the direction perpendicular to the axis (right side in FIGS. 1 and 2) acts on the lower end portion 15b of the worm shaft 15 as a component force. As a result, the lower end portion 15b of the worm shaft 15 is biased in the upper right direction in the figure by the resultant force F3 of the pressing force F1 by the adjusting member 29 and the reaction force F2 received from the guide member 31 by the pressing force F1.

In addition, since the guide member 31 is formed in an arc shape along the outer peripheral surface of the holding member 27, the holding member 27 has a worm as described above as a reaction force received from the tapered surface 34 of the guide member 31. In addition to the radial force F <b> 2 of the wheel 16, a force (centripetal force) F <b> 4 that tries to hold the holding member 27 at the axial center position of the worm shaft 15 acts as indicated by an arrow in FIG. 3. Thereby, the worm shaft 15 is held at the center position in the width direction of the outer peripheral surface of the worm wheel 16.

Thus, the direction of the combined vector F3 of the forces F1, F2, and F4 acting on the lower end portion 15b of the worm shaft 15 is the meshing direction of the tooth portion 15a of the worm shaft 15 and the tooth portion 16a of the worm wheel 16. It is supposed to match. Therefore, the power steering device 1 can reliably press the tooth portion 15a of the worm shaft 15 in the meshing direction with the tooth portion 16a of the worm wheel 16 by the backlash adjusting mechanism 25.

Further, by using a screw structure as the adjusting means for the advance / retreat movement of the holding member 27, the advance / retreat amount of the holding member 27 can be reduced, and the axial position of the holding member 27 can be finely adjusted. It is possible. That is, the taper angle α of the tapered surface 34 of the guide member 31 is set to 10.2 ° with respect to the thread pitch of 1 mm of the adjustment member 29, and the amount of deviation of the holding member 27 toward the worm wheel 16 is adjusted. Since the unit rotation angle is set to 0.5 μm, the backlash between the tooth portions 15a and 16a of the worm shaft 15 and the worm wheel 16 can be reliably adjusted within the narrow appropriate range of 0 to 10 μm. It is possible to adjust to the value to be.

Therefore, according to the invention of the present embodiment, the backlash adjustment mechanism 25 can adjust the backlash between the tooth portions 15a and 16a of the worm shaft 15 and the worm wheel 16, and the lower end portion 15b of the worm shaft 15 By applying a force that matches the meshing direction of the tooth portions 15a and 16a, the meshing efficiency of the speed reduction mechanism 10 when adjusting the backlash between the tooth portions 15a and 16a can be improved.

Further, the guide member 31 is curved along the circumferential direction of the holding member 27, so that the tooth portion 15 a of the worm shaft 15 is connected to the lower end portion 15 b of the worm shaft 15 of the tooth portion 16 a of the worm wheel 16. Since the force for holding the central position in the width direction is applied, the worm shaft 15 can be more reliably pressed toward the meshing direction with the worm wheel 16, and the meshing efficiency of the speed reduction mechanism 10 is further improved. be able to.

Further, by setting the curvature of the inner peripheral surface of the tapered surface 34 of the guide member 31 to be substantially the same as the curvature of the inner peripheral surface of the lower end portion 32, the sliding resistance of the holding member 27 is reduced, and the holding member 27 can be smoothly advanced and retracted. In addition, since the curvature of the inner peripheral surface of the lower end portion 32 is set substantially the same as the curvature of the inner peripheral surface of the enlarged diameter portion 24a of the shaft housing portion 21, the coaxiality of the holding member 27 can be ensured. The insertability of the holding member 27 at the time of assembling becomes good, and the assembling workability of the power steering device 1 can be improved.

Further, since the taper angle α of the taper surface 34 of the guide member 31 is set to an acute angle, the amount of deviation of the holding member 27 in the direction in which the speed reduction mechanism 10 is engaged with respect to the advance / retreat amount of the holding member 27 is reduced. Therefore, the amount of deviation of the worm shaft 15 in the meshing direction can be finely adjusted.

By providing the O-ring 28 on the outer periphery of the holding member 27, the reaction force of the meshing force received by the worm shaft 15 from the worm wheel 16 can be absorbed and transmitted through the output shaft 5. Since it is possible to absorb vibrations from the wheels, processing dimension errors of the holding member 27, and the like, it is possible to suppress rattling of the lower end portion 15b of the worm shaft 15 and collision between components due to this.

Further, since the holding member 27 is held in the biased state toward the adjustment member 29 by elastically contacting the biasing member 26 with the third bearing 17, the holding member 27 follows the adjustment member 29. It is possible to move forward and backward, and the positioning performance when adjusting the axial position of the holding member 27 is improved.

Further, since the lower end portion 15b of the worm shaft 15 is supported by the holding member 27 with the third bearing 17 interposed, the bearing performance of the worm shaft 15 can be improved.

Further, by providing the guide member 31 separately from the inner peripheral wall of the enlarged diameter portion 24a, the guide member 31 is processed as compared with the case where the guide member 31 is formed integrally with the inner peripheral wall of the enlarged diameter portion 24a. This can be easily performed, and the productivity of the power steering apparatus 1 can be improved. In addition, since the circular groove 24c to which the guide member 31 is attached is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape, the groove depth in the radial direction is set so that the inner diameter is substantially the same as the inner diameter of the female screw 24b. Processing in the enlarged diameter portion 24a in the accommodating portion 21 can also be easily performed.
