Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an optical scanning device and an optical box used in a copying machine, a printer, a facsimile, or a composite machine thereof, an image forming apparatus provided with these optical scanning devices, and the assembly of substrates in these optical scanning devices. It is about the method.
For example, in an image forming apparatus such as a printer or a copier using an electrophotographic method, an electrostatic latent image formed by a known electrophotographic process is first applied to a toner image carrier on the surface of an image carrier made of an organic photoreceptor. develop. Next, the toner image is electrostatically transferred to a recording medium (paper or the like) by a transfer device, and then unfixed toner of the toner image is melted and fixed by a fixing device. As a result, the toner image is fixed on the recording medium, and image formation is performed.
As a color image forming apparatus for forming a full color image, so-called four photosensitive drums are arranged corresponding to each color of C (cyan), M (magenta), Y (yellow) and K (black). Tandem type is known. Such an image forming apparatus scans four light beams on the surface of each photosensitive drum by an optical scanning device to form an electrostatic latent image corresponding to each color on each photosensitive drum. The latent image is developed with toner of each of four colors, and this is sequentially transferred onto a recording medium via an intermediate transfer member.
An optical scanning device used in such an image forming apparatus includes four laser light sources corresponding to C, M, Y, and K colors, an optical deflector having a rotating polygon mirror, and optical elements such as lenses and mirrors. And a scanning optical system. These components such as the laser light source are disposed in the housing.
Each laser light source emits a laser beam modulated and driven by image data. The laser beam is reflected and deflected by the reflecting surface of the rotating polygon mirror, and then the surface of the photosensitive drum is exposed and scanned by the scanning lens.
By the way, various configurations have been proposed for such an optical scanning device (see, for example, Patent Document 1). Patent Document 1 includes a plurality of light sources, a coupling lens system for coupling divergent light beams from the plurality of light sources, a deflector for deflecting light beams that have passed through the coupling lens system at an equiangular velocity, and a deflector. An optical scanning device is disclosed that includes a scanning optical system that condenses a plurality of deflected light beams toward a surface to be scanned and scans the surface to be scanned at substantially constant speed. The technique disclosed in Patent Document 1 attaches at least two light sources among a plurality of light sources to the same substrate, emits from at least two light sources, passes through a coupling lens system, and deflects. The light beam traveling toward the beam exhibits an opening angle, and the emission directions of the light beams from at least two light sources exhibit an opening angle at least in the main scanning direction.
However, in a configuration in which a plurality of light beams traveling toward the deflector have an opening angle in the main scanning direction, when a deflector in which the deflection reflection surface and the rotation axis thereof are separated from each other by a certain distance is used, a plurality of opening angles are provided. The amount of sag (the amount of deviation in which the linear condensing portion of each light beam and the deflecting / reflecting surface are displaced with the rotation of the deflecting / reflecting surface) differs depending on the light beam. For this reason, in order to obtain good optical characteristics (beam spot diameter, constant speed, etc.) for all the light beams, an optical design based on the fact that the sag amount differs for each light beam is required.
From such a viewpoint, there are cases where a plurality of light beams from a plurality of light sources are configured to be parallel to each other. In such a configuration, the optical paths of a plurality of light beams are aligned to form a single light beam, so that there is an advantage that it is not necessary to consider the sag amount in optical design.
However, according to such a configuration, the light beams emitted in parallel from each of the plurality of light sources are reflected by the reflecting mirror, so that the plurality of light beams are converted into one light beam. Therefore, it is necessary to match the optical path lengths of the plurality of light beams. When there is, the relative positional relationship of a plurality of light sources is restricted. That is, the distance between the light source and the reflecting mirror in each of the optical paths of the plurality of light beams cannot be made equal to each other. For this reason, the drive board for driving a light source cannot be shared by one sheet. Therefore, a drive substrate is required for each of the plurality of light sources, and it is necessary to arrange the same number of drive substrates as the number of light sources. Will lose the degree of freedom. Further, it becomes difficult to reduce the manufacturing cost by reducing the number of parts of the optical scanning device, and it is also difficult to reduce the size of the optical scanning device.

As shown in FIG. 4, the four laser light beams 10 </ b> Y to 10 </ b> K from the second reflecting mirror 46 (see FIG. 3) are incident on the reflecting
Thus, in this embodiment, an overfilled optical system is employed. Such an overfilled optical system can make the diameter of the rotating polygon mirror smaller than that of the underfilled optical system. Therefore, even if the number of surfaces is increased, the diameter of the rotating polygon mirror can be avoided, and the weight reduction and the moment of inertia can be reduced. It becomes possible to support high-speed rotation. That is, when the process speed of the image forming apparatus is high, the overfilled optical system is more suitable for handling.
Here, as described above,

As shown in FIG. 6, the laser beams from the
FIG. 7 is an explanatory diagram for explaining a procedure for bending the
As shown in FIG. 7, the three
As shown in FIG. 7A, the bending
After that, as shown in FIG. 7C, the bending
In the state shown in FIG. 7C, the
As shown in FIG. 7D, the
FIG. 8 is a configuration diagram showing a modified example of the bent shape of the
As shown in FIG. 8, the bent shape of the
FIG. 9 is a configuration diagram showing mounting

Then, as shown in FIG. 10B, when the
