Abstract
【解決手段】光学装置において、電気磁気効果である光学的電気磁気効果(optical magnetoelectric effect)、方向二色性(non−reciprocal directional dichroism)、方向による複屈折(non−reciprocal directional birefringence)、もしくはジャイロトロピック効果(gyrotropic effect)を示す固体材料を有し、その固体材料表面に回折格子を備え、光スイッチ機能を有するとともに、光分波機能を有する。

Description
Ga2-x Fex O3 〔Fe(鉄)の組成;xの範囲が0.7≦x≦1.5〕の強磁性転移温度Tcは鉄濃度に依存する。x=1の場合はTc=210Kである。今回の実施例では鉄濃度x=1を用いた。

Claims (7)
- 電気磁気効果である光学的電気磁気効果(optical magnetoelectric effect)、方向二色性(non−reciprocal directional dichroism)、方向による複屈折(non−reciprocal directional birefringence)、もしくはジャイロトロピック効果(gyrotropic effect)を示す固体材料からなり、該固体材料表面に回折格子を備え、光スイッチ機能を有するとともに、光分波機能を有することを特徴とする光学装置。
- 請求項1記載の光学装置において、前記光学装置を構成する固体材料として容易磁化軸と電気分極軸とが平行にない固体材料を用い、容易磁化軸と電気分極軸とに平行でない光を入射させるように配置したことを特徴とする光学装置。
- 請求項2記載の光学素子において、前記光学装置として容易磁化軸と電気分極軸とが平行でない固体材料として酸化鉄化合物を用いたことを特徴とする光学装置。
- 請求項3記載の光学装置において、前記光学装置としてGa2-x Fex O3 〔Fe(鉄)の組成;xの範囲が0.7≦x≦1.5〕で斜方晶の結晶構造をもった磁性材料を用いたことを特徴とする光学装置。
- 請求項1記載の光学装置において、前記回折格子が、複数の凸部分を備え、該凸部分の幅と間隙がサブμmから10μmである回折格子を備えたことを特徴とする光学装置。
- 請求項5記載の光学装置において、前記回折格子は凸部分が平行なスリット状に並んだ形状の回折格子を備えたことを特徴とする光学装置。
- 請求項5記載の光学装置において、前記回折格子は凸部分がドット状に並んだ形状の回折格子を備えたことを特徴とする光学装置。
