Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a wired circuit board and a method for manufacturing the wired circuit board, and more particularly to a wired circuit board that is suitably used as a suspension board with circuit, and a method for manufacturing the wired circuit board.
Wiring circuit boards used in electronic / electrical devices usually have a base insulating layer, a conductor pattern formed as a wiring circuit pattern on the base insulating layer, and a conductor pattern coated on the base insulating layer. A cover insulating layer formed, and a terminal portion made of a conductor pattern whose surface is exposed from the cover insulating layer are provided.
As such a terminal portion, in order to cope with the recent increase in density and miniaturization of electronic and electrical equipment, it is known that a flying lead having an exposed surface and back surface is formed from the base insulating layer and the cover insulating layer. It has been. The flying lead is connected to the external terminal by applying ultrasonic vibration using, for example, a bonding tool.
The suspension board with circuit used in the hard disk drive is provided with flying leads for connecting to external terminals and a magnetic head mounting portion on which the magnetic head is mounted. The magnetic head mounting portion is formed such that the surface of the conductor pattern is exposed from the insulating cover layer, and a magnetic head capable of reading and writing to the magnetic disk is mounted on the magnetic head mounting portion.
In order to prevent disconnection in such flying leads, for example, a support substrate, a base insulating layer formed on the support substrate, a conductor pattern formed on the base insulating layer, and a conductor pattern is coated on the base insulating layer And a conductor whose front and back surfaces are exposed from the base insulating layer and the cover insulating layer by opening the base insulating layer and the cover insulating layer at the same position of the conductor pattern. In a suspension board with a circuit having a terminal portion made of a pattern, a wide portion that extends in a width direction substantially orthogonal to the direction in which the conductor pattern extends is formed at the intersection where the edge portion of the terminal portion and the conductor pattern intersect. A suspension board with circuit has been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
However, even in the suspension board with circuit described in
On the other hand, increasing the thickness of the conductor pattern increases the physical strength in the thickness direction and prevents disconnection at the terminal portion. However, since the thickness of the magnetic head mounting portion is also increased, the flexibility of the magnetic head mounting portion is increased. Sexuality decreases. Then, with such a suspension board with circuit, it becomes difficult to reliably follow the magnetic head mounted on the magnetic head mounting portion with respect to the magnetic disk.
An object of the present invention is a wired circuit board capable of ensuring excellent followability in the second terminal portion while effectively preventing disconnection of the first terminal portion made of a flying lead with a simple configuration, and An object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing the printed circuit board.
