Abstract
【解決手段】内側部材1と外側部材2との間に設けられ、外側部材2の内周面2aに嵌め込む円筒部6を有する密封部材4と、内側部材1に設けられると共に円環部8を有するスリンガ5とを備えている。スリンガ5の円環部8はその外周側端部8aに、密封部材4の円筒部6の内周面6aと隙間gを有するよう設けられていると共に軸方向外方側Aに曲げられた折れ曲がり部10を有している。

Description
さらに、密封部材の円筒部とシール本体とスリンガの円環部外周側部分との間に形成される密封装置内部の空間に侵入した異物は、折れ曲がり部により誘導されて外部へ排出されやすくなる。つまり、内側部材が軸心回りに回転すれば、異物は折れ曲がり部により外部へ向かって誘導されて異物は遠心力により外部への自動的に排出される。これにより、密封装置内部の空間に侵入した泥水が乾燥しても泥の詰まりを減少させることができ、密封装置の寿命の短縮を抑えることができる。また、密封装置内部の空間に侵入した異物は、密封部材のシール本体とスリンガの円環部との間で密封され、内側部材と外側部材との間の軸方向内方側へ異物が侵入するのを抑えることができる。
この発明に係る密封装置は、相対的に回転する内側部材1とその内側部材1に外嵌させた外側部材2との間に設けられるものであり、例えば、自動車等の車輌の車輪が取り付けられる車輪用軸受装置に用いることができる。
そして、シール本体11がこの芯金12と一体となるよう固定されている。シール本体11は、例えばゴム等の弾性体から成る。
そして、密封部材4の円筒部6とスリンガ円筒部9とが対面状となり、かつ、密封部材4の円環部7とスリンガ円環部8とが対面状となって密封装置3は組み立てられている。

Claims (2)
- 相対的に回転する内側部材とその内側部材に外嵌させた外側部材との間に設けられ、芯金とその芯金に固定されたシール本体とから構成されかつ前記外側部材の内周面に嵌め込む円筒部を有する密封部材と、前記内側部材に設けられると共に前記シール本体が摺接する径方向の円環部を有するスリンガと、を備えた密封装置において、前記スリンガの円環部はその外周側端部に、前記密封部材の円筒部の内周面と隙間を有するよう設けられていると共に前記シール本体側と反対側である軸方向外方側に曲げられた折れ曲がり部を有していることを特徴とする密封装置。
- 前記折れ曲がり部と前記密封部材の円筒部の内周面との間の前記隙間が、0.35mm〜2mmに設定されている請求項1に記載の密封装置。
