Description

The present invention relates to a destination estimation device and a destination estimation method for estimating a destination of an electronic mail.

Conventional filtering processing for e-mail and the like can be broadly divided into filtering of received mail that detects annoying mail for the recipient, and filtering of sent mail that detects unintended mail that is transmitted due to a sender's mistake. There are two methods of filtering outgoing mail: a method that detects mail that is harmful to the recipient, such as mail that contains a virus, and a method that detects mail that is detrimental to the sender, such as mail that contains confidential information with the wrong destination.

As a method of detecting an unfavorable mail for the sender, a method of permitting opening after inquiring all information for identifying an individual described in the content when the content of the email is opened (see, for example, Patent Document 1), A method of preventing mails from being sent only to a destination set by a predetermined system administrator and preventing an input error in the forwarding address (see, for example, Patent Document 2). A method for enabling transmission only when a pair of a request transmission source and a request transmission destination indicated by a transmission request exists in a set list of a transmission source and a transmission destination set in advance (for example, Patent Literature 3) and the like.
Japanese Patent Laying-Open No. 2003-248646 (paragraphs “0016” to “0017”, FIG. 1) Japanese Patent Laying-Open No. 2003-16011 (paragraphs “0059” to “0060”, FIG. 1) Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2000-22739 (paragraphs “0024” to “0027”, FIG. 1)

<First Embodiment>
In the first embodiment, a transmission destination of a newly created mail is estimated using predetermined parameters and feature amounts, and it is displayed that there is a possibility that the transmission destination set in the newly created mail is incorrect. A destination estimation apparatus and a destination estimation method will be described.

In the first embodiment, an example in which a transmission destination is estimated using an NB (Naive Bayes) technique will be described.

(Destination estimation device)
As shown in FIG. 1, the destination estimation apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment includes a communication unit 11, a feature amount extraction unit 12, an estimation unit 13, a comparison unit 14, a detection unit 15, and a confirmation unit. 16 and learning means 17.

The destination estimation apparatus 1 according to the first embodiment includes a processing control device (CPU), and includes communication means 11, feature amount extraction means 12, estimation means 13, comparison means 14, detection means 15, and confirmation means. 16, the learning means 17 and the like can be built in the CPU as modules. These modules can be realized by executing a dedicated program for using a predetermined program language in a general-purpose computer such as a personal computer. Further, a storage device 21, an input device 22, and an output device 23 are connected to the processing control device (CPU) 10.

The communication means 11 transmits a newly created mail via a communication network (Internet or the like).

The feature amount extraction unit 12 extracts feature amounts of a plurality of sent mails and newly created mails, and stores the feature amounts in the storage device 21. Here, the “feature amount” extracts a word appearance frequency, a mail format, a mail profile, and the like. The mail profile includes, for example, all information related to outgoing mail, such as mail transmission time, file capacity, attached file type, mail header, SMTP header (including CC and BCC). That is, the feature amount extraction unit 12 extracts V types of feature amounts from the mail. The feature amount is represented as a vector having a certain number of elements (here, V). In the following, x is a feature quantity vector in which V feature quantities of learning mail (sent mail) are arranged, and x 'is a feature quantity vector in which V feature quantities of discrimination mail (newly created mail) are arranged.

In addition, the number of learning emails (sent emails) is N, the type of destination is L, the number assigned for each type of feature extracted from the email is n, and the number assigned for each destination is l. . The characteristic amount of the learning mail (sent mail) belonging to the l-th transmission destination is represented by X (l) . If n is a number assigned to each learning email (sent email) and v is a number assigned to each type of feature extracted from the email, the feature X (l) is the element x (l) (n, v) .

Figure 2005250594
The learning unit 17 (parameter calculation unit) calculates the learning parameter Θ based on the feature amount extracted by the feature amount extraction unit 12 using Equation (1), and stores the learning parameter in the storage device 21. When V is the maximum dimension of the feature quantity and L is the number of types of transmission destinations, the learning parameter Θ is represented by a matrix in which V × L learning parameter elements θ (v, l) are arranged.
Figure 2005250594

In equation (1), l is a known destination number, L is the number of destination types, N (l) is the number of learning emails (sent emails) belonging to the lth destination, and v is a feature quantity. , V is the maximum number of dimensions of the feature quantity, x (l) (n, v) is the feature quantity of the vth dimension of the nth learning mail (sent mail) belonging to the lth destination, γ is an arbitrary value, and θ (v, l) is a learning parameter in the v th dimension of the feature quantity belonging to the l th transmission destination.

In the above description, v, l, and n (lowercase) are variables, and V, L, and N (uppercase) are fixed values. X and x '(lower case) are vectors, and X and Θ (upper case) are matrices.

Specifically, the learning unit 17 (parameter calculation unit) calculates the learning parameter θ (v, l) of the v-th dimension of the feature quantity belonging to the l-th transmission destination using the equation (1).

Figure 2005250594
The estimation unit 13 newly creates a newly created mail by using the learning parameter calculated by the learning unit 17 (parameter calculation unit) and the feature amount extracted from the newly created mail, using Expression (2). Estimating the mail recipient
Figure 2005250594

In Equation (2), x ′ (v) is the feature quantity of the vth dimension of the discrimination mail (newly created mail), and F (l) is the degree to which the discrimination mail (newly created mail) belongs to the lth destination. This is the discriminant value shown.

Specifically, the estimation means 13 uses the learning parameter θ (v, l) of the v th dimension of the feature amount belonging to the l th transmission destination, and uses the v th feature amount of the discrimination mail (newly created mail). The value of F (l) indicating the degree to which x ′ (v) belongs to the l-th transmission destination is calculated. Here, it is determined that the larger the value of F (l), the higher the probability that the transmission destination of the discrimination mail (newly created mail) is the lth transmission destination.

In this way, if F (l) is calculated L times using equation (2), according to the value of F (l) , which of the L types of destinations the transmission destination of the newly created mail belongs to It can be distinguished.

Further, the estimation means 13 may estimate not only one transmission destination candidate but also a plurality of transmission destination candidates. In order to list a plurality of transmission destination candidates, sort the values of F (l) to make the top several transmission destinations candidates, or set an arbitrary threshold for the value of F (l) The above transmission destination may be a candidate.

When a plurality of transmission destinations are set in the newly created mail, the estimation unit 13 performs estimation for each transmission destination.

The comparison unit 14 compares the transmission destination estimated by the estimation unit 13 with the transmission destination set in the newly created mail. Specifically, the comparison unit 14 converts the l-th transmission destination, which is the estimation result of the transmission destination of the new transmission mail, into a transmission destination based on the correspondence table between the transmission destination number and the transmission destination, and creates a new one. Enables comparison with the destination set in the mail. When a plurality of transmission destinations are set in the newly created mail, the comparison unit 14 compares each transmission destination.

The detection unit 15 detects from the result of the comparison unit 14 that the transmission destination set in the newly created mail is not included in the transmission destination estimated by the estimation unit 13. When a plurality of transmission destinations are set in the newly created mail, the detection unit 15 detects that some of the transmission destinations are not included in the estimated transmission destinations.

When the detection unit 15 detects the confirmation unit 16, the confirmation unit 16 displays the fact on the output device 23. For example, a confirmation screen as shown in FIG. 3 may be displayed.

The storage device 21 is a recording medium that stores feature amounts, predetermined learning parameters, determination values, transmission destination candidates, and the like. Examples of the recording medium include RAM, ROM, hard disk, flexible disk, compact disk, IC chip, and cassette tape. Further, the storage device 21 may store a destination estimation program for causing the processing control device (CPU) 10 to execute a feature amount extraction process, a parameter calculation process, a transmission destination estimation process, and the like. According to such a recording medium, it is possible to easily store, transport, and sell data such as feature quantities and learning parameters or programs.

The input device 22 refers to a device such as a keyboard and a mouse. When an input operation is performed from the input device 22, corresponding key information is transmitted to the processing control device (CPU) 10. The input device 22 can input a mail text, a transmission destination, and the like.

The output device 23 indicates a screen such as a monitor, and a liquid crystal display (LCD), a light emitting diode (LED) panel, an electroluminescence (EL) panel, or the like can be used. When there is a possibility that the transmission destination of the newly created mail is incorrect, the output device 23 can display that fact.

(Destination estimation method)
Next, a destination estimation method using the destination estimation apparatus according to the first embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS.

FIG. 2 is a flowchart for creating and sending a newly created mail. As a premise, a plurality of predetermined learning parameters for each transmission destination are calculated based on the feature amount of the sent mail.

(A) First, in step S101, a newly created mail is created and a transmission destination of the mail is set.

(B) Next, in step S102, when an instruction to send a newly created mail is issued, feature amounts are extracted from the newly created mail.

(C) Next, in step S103, the transmission destination of the newly created mail is estimated using the parameter calculated from the already sent mail and the feature amount extracted from the newly created mail. The estimated transmission destination is not limited to one, and a plurality of destinations may be estimated. Further, at that time, a plurality of transmission destinations may be given a ranking to transmission destinations having a high possibility of corresponding.

(D) Next, in step S104, the estimated transmission destination is compared with the transmission destination set in the newly created mail.

(E) Next, in step S105, it is determined from the comparison result in step S104 whether or not the transmission destination set in the newly created mail is included in the estimated transmission destination. If it is included, the process proceeds to step S108, and the newly created mail is transmitted to the set transmission destination.

(F) If it is not included in the estimated destination in step S105, the process proceeds to step S106, and a message indicating that the set transmission destination may be incorrect is displayed on the output device. For example, when the transmission destination set in the newly created mail is “A field B child” but the estimated address does not include “A field B child”, the mail is transmitted as shown in FIG. A confirmation screen is displayed.

(F) If the transmission destination is correct in step S107, the “Yes” button in FIG. 3 is pressed, and the flow advances to step S108 to transmit the newly created mail to the set transmission destination. On the other hand, if the transmission destination is incorrect, the “No” button in FIG. 3 is pressed, the process returns to step S101, the mail editing screen or the transmission destination editing screen is displayed, and the destination setting is performed again.

(G) Next, in step S109, the feature quantities of the outgoing mail, the outgoing address, and the newly created mail are stored in the storage device 21.

(H) Next, in step S110, learning parameters relating to the transmitted mail are calculated.

(Action and effect)
According to the destination estimation apparatus and the destination estimation method according to the first embodiment, the transmission destination of a newly created mail is estimated using predetermined parameters and feature amounts, and the transmission destination set in the newly created mail is incorrect. Can be displayed, and the user can be made aware of this. For this reason, it is possible to prevent a mail from being sent to an incorrect destination at the stage of making a transmission request. Therefore, information leakage unintended by the sender can be prevented. In addition, it is possible to prevent generation of useless communication traffic.

Also, according to the destination estimation apparatus and destination estimation method according to the first embodiment, a predetermined parameter is calculated using the above-described equation (1), and the transmission with the largest discriminant value obtained by the equation (2) is performed. The destination can be estimated as a destination candidate for a newly created mail. Expressions (1) and (2) are so-called NB (Naive Bayes) techniques, and the probability that the transmission destination of a newly created mail corresponds to a known transmission destination is calculated for each of the plurality of known transmission destinations. And has an advantage of high processing speed. In addition, a problem with over-learning (a phenomenon in which an error with respect to learning data decreases while an error with respect to unlearned data increases) hardly occurs.
