The present invention relates to a fuel cell system that generates hydrogen-containing reformed gas from a reforming raw material in a reformer, and generates power using hydrogen in the hydrogen-containing reformed gas in a fuel cell. The present invention relates to a system capable of collecting pure hydrogen.

A fuel that generates electricity by interposing a hydrogen separation membrane having a property of permeating only hydrogen between an anode of a fuel cell and an electrolyte having proton conductivity, and reacting hydrogen protons with oxygen in the air at a cathode. A battery is shown in US Pat.

However, the conventional fuel cell disclosed in Patent Document 1 cannot effectively use the fuel cell when power generation becomes unnecessary.

The present invention has been made in view of such conventional problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a fuel cell system that can effectively use a fuel cell when power generation is unnecessary.

The present invention relates to a fuel cell system including a reformer that generates hydrogen-containing reformed gas containing hydrogen from a reforming fuel, and a fuel cell that generates power using the hydrogen-containing reformed gas.
The fuel cell includes an anode channel to which the hydrogen-containing reformed gas is supplied, a cathode channel to which an oxygen-containing gas is supplied, and an electrolyte disposed between the cathode channel and the anode channel. Have a body and
The electrolyte body includes a hydrogen separation metal layer for permeating hydrogen in the hydrogen-containing reformed gas supplied to the anode channel, and the hydrogen that has permeated the hydrogen separation metal layer in a hydrogen proton state. And a proton conductor layer made of ceramics for transmitting to the cathode channel, and an anode electrode formed on the anode channel side surface of the proton conductor layer, and the proton conduction A cathode electrode formed on the surface of the body layer on the cathode flow path side,
A cathode offgas line for flowing a cathode offgas discharged from the cathode channel is connected to the cathode channel, and a hydrogen storage means capable of storing hydrogen is connected to the cathode offgas line,
A short circuit means capable of electrically short-circuiting the anode electrode and the cathode electrode is disposed in the fuel cell system (Claim 1).

In the fuel cell system of the present invention, short-circuiting means capable of electrically short-circuiting the anode electrode and the cathode electrode is disposed, and the cathode offgas line is provided with the hydrogen gas. A storage means is connected. Therefore, the fuel cell system can actively utilize the fuel cell even when power generation is unnecessary.

That is, as described above, the fuel cell is configured to separate hydrogen from the hydrogen-containing reformed gas introduced into the anode flow path and guide the protons to the cathode flow path. Here, when power supply from the fuel cell system is unnecessary (when power generation is unnecessary), at least immediately after that, the hydrogen-containing reformed gas is present in the anode flow path. It is continuing.

Therefore, by short-circuiting the anode electrode and the cathode electrode electrically by the short-circuiting means, power generation does not occur, but separation and protonation of hydrogen from the hydrogen-containing reformed gas existing in the anode flow path is performed. Can be advanced. On the cathode electrode, hydrogen molecules can be generated by combining electrons and protons supplied by the short circuit.

Hydrogen gas composed of the generated hydrogen molecules is led from the cathode flow path to the cathode offgas line. Here, since the hydrogen storage means is connected to the cathode offgas line, the hydrogen gas can be stored in the hydrogen storage means. Therefore, the generated hydrogen does not need to be consumed immediately, but can be temporarily stored in the hydrogen storage means, taken out when necessary, and used for various purposes.

Thus, in the fuel cell system of the present invention, since the short circuit means and the hydrogen storage means are provided, even when power generation becomes unnecessary, the fuel cell is actively used to produce high purity hydrogen. And stockpile. Therefore, the fuel cell system of the present invention can be adapted to new applications using stored hydrogen, in addition to being capable of stable and efficient operation during power generation.

The reforming fuel in the present invention can be, for example, a hydrocarbon fuel or an alcohol fuel. Examples of the hydrocarbon fuel include fuel gas such as methane and ethane, liquefied petroleum gas such as propane and butane, and gasoline such as octane. Examples of the alcohol fuel include methanol and ethanol.

Further, as the hydrogen storage means connected to the cathode offgas line, various storage means such as a tank containing a hydrogen storage alloy, carbon, activated carbon, etc., a cylinder, a carbon nanotube, a chemical hydride, etc. can be applied.
Further, the short-circuit means can basically be constituted by a circuit capable of electrically connecting the anode electrode and the cathode electrode, and a switch unit for switching the electrical conduction / disconnection of the circuit. .

Further, in the present invention, the reformed gas supply line for supplying the hydrogen-containing reformed gas to the anode flow path is provided with a pressure pressurizing means for increasing the pressure in the anode flow path. Preferred (claim 2). In this case, the pressure in the anode channel is increased by pressurizing the hydrogen-containing reformed gas by the pressure pressurizing means and sending it to the anode channel. Thereby, the partial pressure of hydrogen in the anode can be increased, and the permeation rate of hydrogen to the cathode channel side can be increased.
Examples of the pressure pressurizing means include a pump and an ejector.

In addition, it is preferable that a pressure adjusting mechanism for adjusting the pressure in the anode flow path is provided in the anode off gas line through which the anode off gas discharged from the anode flow path flows. In this case, the pressure in the anode flow path is increased by adjusting the flow rate of the anode off gas by the pressure adjusting mechanism. As a result, similarly to the above, the hydrogen partial pressure in the anode can be increased, and the permeation rate of hydrogen to the cathode channel side can be increased.
Examples of the pressure adjustment mechanism include a throttle valve and a back pressure adjustment valve.

The fuel cell system is mounted on a vehicle, and stores a motor that converts kinetic energy to generate regenerative power when the vehicle decelerates, and stores the regenerative power and surplus power generated by the fuel cell. Preferably, the battery further comprises a battery, and the short-circuit means is configured to short-circuit the anode electrode and the cathode electrode when the regenerative power is generated by the motor.

In this case, the anode electrode and the cathode electrode are short-circuited when the regenerative power is generated. Thereby, hydrogen can be generated and stored without using the surplus hydrogen-containing reformed gas supplied to the fuel cell due to the reaction delay of the reformer without generating power in the fuel cell. On the other hand, the regenerative power generated from the motor can be charged to the secondary battery without considering the power generation from the fuel cell. Therefore, the allowable range of regenerative power that can be charged by the secondary battery when the vehicle is decelerated can be expanded and the regenerative power can be reliably charged, while the surplus hydrogen-containing reformed gas is in a hydrogen state. Can be stored.

Further, when the regenerative power is generated by the motor, the electric power that cannot be stored in the secondary battery among the regenerative power is used to apply a potential between the anode electrode and the cathode electrode. (Claim 5). In this case, the fuel cell can be used as a hydrogen pump, and hydrogen can be obtained more efficiently.

In addition, before the anode electrode and the cathode electrode are short-circuited by the short-circuit means, oxygen-containing gas discharge means for discharging the oxygen-containing gas existing in the cathode flow path is provided, the short-circuit means includes the oxygen It is preferable that the anode electrode and the cathode electrode are short-circuited after the oxygen-containing gas existing in the cathode gas flow path is discharged by the contained gas discharge means.

In this case, the oxygen-containing gas in the cathode channel is discharged before the anode electrode and the cathode electrode are short-circuited, so that the hydrogen molecules generated at the cathode after the short-circuit are generated by the oxygen-containing gas in the cathode channel. Direct reaction with can be suppressed. Therefore, it is possible to suppress a decrease in the amount of hydrogen stored due to a direct reaction between hydrogen molecules and oxygen-containing gas.

The oxygen-containing gas supply line that supplies the oxygen-containing gas to the cathode flow path has a cathode gas supply stop mechanism that stops the supply of the oxygen-containing gas from the oxygen-containing gas supply line to the cathode flow path. It is preferable that they are arranged (claim 7). In this case, the purity of the generated hydrogen can be maintained by stopping the supply of the oxygen-containing gas to the cathode channel.

Further, the oxygen-containing gas supply line is provided with a supply-side bypass line that branches from the oxygen-containing supply line, and the cathode gas supply stop mechanism is arranged at a branch point where the supply-side bypass line branches. It is particularly preferable that the flow path of the oxygen-containing gas is configured by a flow path switching mechanism that switches from the oxygen-containing gas supply line to the supply-side bypass line (claim 8). In this case, the operation of the flow path switching mechanism can stop the supply of the oxygen-containing gas to the cathode flow path with very high responsiveness. Therefore, hydrogen purity can be maintained at an early stage.

The cathode offgas line is preferably provided with an off-side bypass line branched from the cathode offgas line, and the hydrogen storage means is preferably connected to the off-side bypass line. In this case, by switching the cathode off-gas line flow path to the off-side bypass line to which the hydrogen storage means is connected at a timing optimal for the hydrogen generation start timing in the cathode flow path, high-purity hydrogen can be quickly obtained. The hydrogen storage means can be supplied. In addition, since the hydrogen storage means is connected to the off-side bypass line, for example, even during power generation in a fuel cell, hydrogen is separated from the hydrogen separation metal layer through the off-side bypass line while being disconnected from the cathode offgas line. Can be taken out and used.

The cathode offgas line is preferably provided with a pressure reducing mechanism for reducing the pressure in the cathode flow path. In this case, the hydrogen permeation rate can be increased by reducing the pressure in the cathode channel by the pressure reducing mechanism.
Examples of the pressure reducing mechanism include a pump and a compressor.

Further, the fuel cell system of the present invention preferably has the following configuration.
First, it is preferable that the cathode offgas line is connected to a reforming reaction flow path for generating the hydrogen-containing reformed gas from the reforming fuel in the reformer. In this case, it is preferable that a structure for connecting the hydrogen storage means to an off-side bypass line branched from the cathode off-gas line is essential. As a result, the cathode off-gas during power generation can be supplied to the reforming reaction channel of the reformer, and effects such as recovery of water generated by the reaction can be obtained. On the other hand, when power generation is not necessary, the hydrogen can be stored using the off-side bypass line of the cathode offgas line.

The reformer preferably has a heating channel that is formed adjacent to the reforming reaction channel and that burns to heat the reforming reaction channel. In this case, the ratio of the partial oxidation reaction performed in the reformer can be reduced by forming the reforming reaction channel and the heating channel in the reformer. Therefore, in the reforming reaction channel, the reforming fuel can be used as much as possible in the steam reforming reaction for generating the hydrogen and the like, and the supply amount of the reforming fuel to the reformer is reduced. As a result, the energy efficiency in the reformer can be improved. Therefore, energy efficiency during power generation in the fuel cell system can be improved.

Moreover, it is preferable that the anode off gas line extended from the anode flow path of the fuel cell is connected to the heating flow path of the reformer. In this case, the anode off gas can be sent to the heating channel during power generation. In the heating channel, not only can the hydrogen and the combustible substance contained in the anode off gas be used for combustion, but also the anode. Combustion can be performed using high-temperature thermal energy of the offgas. In the reforming reaction channel, the hydrogen-containing reformed gas can be generated with high efficiency by utilizing the high-temperature thermal energy of the cathode offgas. Therefore, the energy efficiency in the reformer can be further improved, and the energy efficiency during power generation of the fuel cell system can be further improved.

The fuel cell preferably has a refrigerant flow path to which an oxygen-containing refrigerant gas for cooling the fuel cell is supplied. In this case, the temperature of the fuel cell can be maintained within a predetermined temperature range by adjusting the supply amount of the oxygen-containing refrigerant gas to the refrigerant flow path of the fuel cell.

In addition, it is preferable that a refrigerant offgas line for sending refrigerant offgas discharged from the refrigerant channel to the heating channel is connected to the refrigerant channel of the fuel cell. The refrigerant off-gas discharged from the refrigerant flow path has oxygen contained in the oxygen-containing refrigerant gas and is heated by passing through the fuel cell. Therefore, the combustion reaction in the heating channel of the reformer can be performed more efficiently, and further, the energy efficiency during power generation of the fuel cell system can be improved.

As shown in FIG. 2, the fuel cell 3 includes an anode channel 32 to which the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga is supplied from the reforming reaction channel 21 and a cathode channel to which the oxygen-containing gas Gc is supplied. 33, an electrolyte 31 disposed between the cathode channel 33 and the anode channel 32, and a refrigerant channel 34 to which an oxygen-containing refrigerant gas Gr for cooling the fuel cell 3 is supplied. have.
The electrolyte body 31 includes a hydrogen separation metal layer (hydrogen permeable metal layer) 311 for allowing hydrogen in the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga supplied to the anode flow path 32, and the hydrogen separation metal layer. A proton conductor layer 312 made of ceramics for allowing the hydrogen that has passed through 311 to pass through in the form of hydrogen protons to reach the cathode channel 33 is laminated. In addition, an anode electrode 321 formed on the surface of the proton conductor layer 312 on the anode flow path side and a cathode electrode 331 formed on the surface of the proton conductor layer 312 on the cathode flow path side are provided.

As shown in FIG. 1, the fuel cell system 1 includes a cathode offgas line 46 for sending the cathode offgas Oc discharged from the cathode channel 33 to the reforming reaction channel 21 in the reformer 2, An anode offgas line 45 for sending the anode offgas Oa discharged from the anode flow path 32 to the heating flow path 22 and a refrigerant offgas Or discharged from the refrigerant flow path 34 for sending to the heating flow path 22 And a refrigerant off-gas line 47.

The reformer 2 is configured to generate the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga by reacting the reforming fuel F and the cathode offgas Oc in the reforming reaction channel 21. The reformer 2 is configured to perform the heating by burning the anode offgas Oa and the refrigerant offgas Or in the heating flow path 22.

Further, as shown in FIG. 1, a hydrogen storage means 92 capable of storing hydrogen is connected to the cathode offgas line 46 through which the cathode offgas connected to the cathode flow path 33 flows, and the anode electrode 321 and the anode electrode 321 Between the cathode electrode 331, the short-circuit means 91 which can electrically short-circuit these is arrange | positioned.
This will be described in detail below.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the hydrogen separation metal layer 311 of this example is made of a laminated metal of palladium (Pd) and vanadium (V). Note that the hydrogen separation metal layer 311 may be made of only palladium or an alloy containing the palladium. Further, the hydrogen separation metal layer 311 has a hydrogen permeation performance (hydrogen separation performance) exceeding 10 A / cm 2 in terms of current density under an anode gas supply condition of 3 atm. Thus, the conductive resistance of the hydrogen separation metal layer 311 is made small enough to be ignored.
The proton conductor layer 312 of this example is made of a perovskite oxide as ceramic. The conductive resistance of the proton conductor layer 312 is reduced until it is about the same as the conductive resistance of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane. As the perovskite-type oxide, such as those of BaCeO 3 system, there is a SrCeO 3 system.

As shown in FIG. 2, the electrolyte body 31 includes an anode electrode 321 (anode) formed on the surface of the proton conductor layer 312 on the anode flow channel 32 side, and the cathode of the proton conductor layer 312. It has a cathode electrode 331 (cathode) formed on the surface on the channel 33 side. A battery output line 36 for taking out electric power from the fuel cell 3 is connected between the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331.

In this example, short-circuiting means 91 that can electrically short-circuit the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331 is provided separately from the battery output line 36. The short-circuit means 91 has a switch portion 911, and can be electrically short-circuited between the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331 by closing the switch portion 911, while the anode electrode can be short-circuited by opening the switch portion 911. 321 and the cathode electrode 331 are configured to eliminate an electrical short circuit. The short-circuiting unit 91 is controlled by a control device (not shown) and maintains the switch unit 911 in an open state while the fuel cell 3 is generating power. When the power generation is stopped and hydrogen generation is performed, the switch unit 911 is operated. Is configured to be in a closed state.

In addition, the anode electrode 321 in the proton conductor layer 312 of this example is made of palladium constituting the hydrogen separation metal layer 311. The cathode electrode 331 in the proton conductor layer 312 is composed of a Pt-based electrode catalyst. The anode electrode 321 can also be composed of a Pt-based electrode catalyst.

As shown in FIG. 1, the cathode offgas line 46 is branched into two via a cathode offgas three-way regulating valve 61, and the hydrogen storage means 92 is connected to the bypass line 461. The hydrogen storage means 92 of this example is constituted by a tank containing a hydrogen storage alloy. The hydrogen storage means 92 can be changed to, for example, a hydrogen storage material (carbon).

Then, the fuel cell system 1 switches the cathode offgas three-way regulating valve 61 to send the cathode offgas Oc flow to the reforming reaction flow path 21 of the reformer 2 or hydrogen connected to the bypass line 461. It is comprised so that it can switch whether it sends to the storage means 92. FIG.

As shown in FIG. 1, the anode off-gas line 45 is provided with an anode off-gas three-way regulating valve 51 that can branch the anode off-gas Oa flowing therethrough into two.
The fuel cell system 1 exhausts part of the anode offgas Oa flowing through the anode offgas line 45 via the anode offgas three-way regulating valve 51, and the remainder is a heating channel in the reformer 2. 22 to send to. The anode off gas three-way regulating valve 51 can adjust the distribution ratio between the flow rate of the anode off gas Oa to be exhausted and the flow rate of the anode off gas Oa to be sent to the heating flow path 22. The flow rate of the anode off gas Oa sent from the anode off gas line 45 to the heating flow path 22 in the reformer 2 can be adjusted by the anode off gas three-way regulating valve 51.

As shown in FIG. 1, the refrigerant off-gas line 47 is provided with a refrigerant off-gas three-way regulating valve 71 that can branch the refrigerant off-gas flowing therethrough into two.
The fuel cell system 1 exhausts a part of the refrigerant offgas Or flowing through the refrigerant offgas line 47 via the refrigerant offgas three-way regulating valve 71 and the remainder is a heating channel in the reformer 2. 22 to send to. The refrigerant off-gas three-way regulating valve 71 can adjust the distribution ratio between the flow rate of the refrigerant off-gas Or to be exhausted and the flow rate of the refrigerant off-gas Or to be sent to the heating flow path 22.

The flow rate of the refrigerant offgas Or sent from the refrigerant offgas line 47 to the heating flow path 22 in the reformer 2 can be adjusted by the refrigerant offgas three-way regulating valve 71. As a result, when the amount of oxygen in the refrigerant off-gas Or is larger than the amount of oxygen required for the heating flow path 22, a part of the refrigerant off-gas Or is exhausted via the refrigerant off-gas three-way regulating valve 71. The amount of residual oxygen in the refrigerant off-gas Or sent to the passage 22 can be maintained at an appropriate amount.

As shown in FIG. 1, the fuel cell system 1 has a fuel supply line 41 for supplying the reforming fuel F to the reforming reaction channel 21 in the reformer 2. The cathode offgas line 46 is connected to the fuel supply line 41, and the cathode offgas flowing through the cathode offgas line 46 and the reforming fuel F flowing through the fuel supply line 41 are mixed in this connecting portion. A reaction channel mixing valve 881 is provided. An air-fuel mixture of the reforming fuel F and the cathode offgas Oc is supplied to the reforming reaction channel 21 in the reformer 2.

In the reforming reaction channel 21, a steam reforming reaction is performed by the reforming fuel F and water (high-temperature steam) contained in the cathode offgas Oc, and hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and the like are generated. . Further, in the reforming reaction channel 21, a partial oxidation reaction is performed by the reforming fuel F and oxygen contained in the cathode offgas Oc, and water, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and the like are generated. Thus, the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga containing hydrogen and water is generated by the steam reforming reaction and the partial oxidation reaction.
In addition, the steam reforming reaction is an endothermic reaction, while the partial oxidation reaction is an exothermic reaction, and the temperature reduction in the reforming reaction channel 21 can be suppressed by the partial oxidation reaction.

As shown in FIG. 1, in the fuel cell system 1 of this example, the anode offgas line 45 and the refrigerant offgas line 47 are connected to the heating flow path 22 in the reformer 2. 451. In addition, a heating passage mixing valve 882 that mixes the anode offgas Oa flowing through the anode offgas line 45 and the refrigerant offgas Or flowing through the refrigerant offgas line 47 is disposed at this connection portion. Then, an air-fuel mixture of the anode off gas Oa and the refrigerant off gas Or is supplied to the heating channel 22 in the reformer 2.

In the heating channel 22, a combustion reaction is performed by hydrogen contained in the anode offgas Oa and oxygen contained in the refrigerant offgas Or, and water or the like is generated.
Thus, by performing a combustion reaction in the heating channel 22, heat can be transferred from the heating channel 22 to the reforming reaction channel 21, and the temperature in the reforming reaction channel 21 is kept high. Can be done. In this example, the heat generated by the steam reforming reaction and partial oxidation reaction in the reforming reaction channel 21 and the heat generated by the combustion reaction in the heating channel 22 are substantially balanced to generate in the reformer 2. The temperature of the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga is maintained within a predetermined temperature range.
Further, the combustion off gas after the combustion reaction is performed in the heating flow path 22 is discharged to the outside of the fuel cell system 1 from an exhaust line 49 connected to the outlet of the heating flow path 22.

In addition, since the heating channel 22 is formed in the reformer 2, the ratio of the partial oxidation reaction performed in the reforming reaction channel 21 can be reduced. Therefore, in the reforming reaction channel 21, the reforming fuel F can be used as much as possible in the steam reforming reaction for generating hydrogen and the like, and the reforming fuel F to the reforming reaction channel 21 can be used. Can be reduced.

Further, as shown in FIG. 1, the reforming reaction channel 21 in the reformer 2 and the anode channel 32 in the fuel cell 3 include hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga generated in the reforming reaction channel 21. It is connected via a flowing reformed gas supply line 42.
An oxygen-containing gas supply line 43 for supplying the oxygen-containing gas Gc to the cathode channel 33 is connected to the cathode channel 33 in the fuel cell 3. The oxygen-containing gas Gc in this example is air, and the oxygen-containing gas supply line 43 is provided with an oxygen-containing gas pressurizer 60 that pressurizes and sends out the air as the oxygen-containing gas Gc. The oxygen-containing gas pressurizer 60 of this example was a pump. The oxygen-containing gas pressurizer 60 may be a fan, a compressor, an ejector, or the like.

Furthermore, in this example, the oxygen-containing gas supply line 43 is provided with a cathode gas supply stop mechanism 93 that stops the supply of the oxygen-containing gas Gc to the cathode flow path 33. In this example, an on-off valve is employed as the cathode gas supply stop mechanism 93, and the maintenance and stop of the supply of the oxygen-containing gas to the oxygen-containing gas supply line 43 are appropriately switched. In addition to air, for example, oxygen can be used as the oxygen-containing gas Gc.

A refrigerant gas supply line 44 for supplying the oxygen-containing refrigerant gas Gr to the refrigerant channel 34 is connected to the refrigerant channel 34 in the fuel cell 3. The oxygen-containing refrigerant gas Gr in this example is air, and the refrigerant gas supply line 44 is provided with a refrigerant gas pressurizer 70 that pressurizes and sends out air as the oxygen-containing refrigerant gas Gr. Then, by adjusting the supply amount of the oxygen-containing refrigerant gas Gr to the refrigerant flow path 34 of the fuel cell 3 by the refrigerant gas pressurizer 70, the temperature in the fuel cell 3 can be maintained within a predetermined temperature range.
The refrigerant gas pressurizer 70 of this example is a pump. The refrigerant gas pressurizer 70 may be a fan, a compressor, an ejector, or the like.

Further, in the fuel cell system 1, the hydrogen-containing modification is not performed from the reforming reaction channel 21 in the reformer 2 to the anode channel 32 in the fuel cell 3 without using a heat exchanger or a condenser. It is configured to supply the quality gas Ga directly. In addition, the fuel cell system 1 is configured to directly supply the cathode offgas Oc from the cathode channel 33 in the fuel cell 3 to the reforming reaction channel 21 in the reformer 2 without using a heat exchanger or the like. Has been.

FIG. 1 shows a case where one reforming reaction channel 21 and one heating channel 22 are formed in the reformer 2. On the other hand, the reformer 2 can be configured by forming a plurality of reforming reaction channels 21 and heating channels 22 and arranging them alternately.
1 and 2 show a case where one anode channel 32, one cathode channel 33, and one coolant channel 34 are formed in the fuel cell 3, respectively. On the other hand, the fuel cell 3 may be formed by forming a plurality of anode channels 32, cathode channels 33, and refrigerant channels 34, and arranging them alternately.

Next, a method for generating power using the fuel cell system 1 will be described.
When power generation is performed, the switch unit 911 of the short-circuit unit 91 is kept open.
In the reforming reaction channel 21 of the reformer 2, the reforming fuel F sent from the fuel supply line 41 reacts with the cathode offgas Oc sent from the cathode offgas line 46, and Hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga is generated. On the other hand, in the heating flow path 22 of the reformer 2, the anode offgas Oa sent from the anode offgas line 45 and the refrigerant offgas Or sent from the refrigerant offgas line 47 react to generate heat and heat The channel 22 heats the reforming reaction channel 21. In this way, the reforming reaction channel 21 generates the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga, and is heated from the heating channel 22, so that the reforming reaction channel 21 moves to the anode channel 32 in the fuel cell 3. The temperature of the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga sent out can be maintained at a high temperature of 300 to 600 ° C.

In addition, the temperature of the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga generated in the reformer 2 can be set to 300 to 600 ° C, but more preferably 400 to 500 ° C. In this case, the temperature of the hydrogen separation metal layer 311 in the electrolyte body 31 of the fuel cell 3 can be maintained at an optimum temperature that exhibits hydrogen permeation performance, and the hydrogen separation metal layer 311 is deteriorated. This can be easily suppressed.

Further, the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga generated in the reforming reaction channel 21 of the reformer 2 passes through the reformed gas supply line 42 and is supplied to the anode channel 32 in the fuel cell 3. The Then, most of the hydrogen in the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga supplied to the anode channel 32 passes through the hydrogen separation metal layer 311 in the electrolyte body 31 and reaches the proton conductor layer 312 in the electrolyte body 31. . The hydrogen passes through the proton conductor layer 312 in a hydrogen proton state.

In the cathode channel 33, the hydrogen protons react with oxygen in the oxygen-containing gas Gc supplied from the oxygen-containing gas supply line 43 to generate water. In this example, the reaction in the fuel cell 3 is performed at a high temperature of 300 to 600 ° C., and the generated water becomes high-temperature steam.
Further, the fuel cell system 1 can generate electric power by performing the reaction and extracting electric power from between the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331 in the electrolyte body 31 to the battery output line 36.

The fuel cell system 1 of this example includes a fuel cell 3 including an electrolyte body 31 formed by laminating the hydrogen separation metal layer 311 and the proton conductor layer 312. In the fuel cell system 1 of this example, the proton conductor layer 312 is made of ceramics, and the proton conductor layer 312 can be used without being impregnated with water. It can be operated at a high temperature of ˜600 ° C. Therefore, the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga can be directly supplied from the reformer 2 to the fuel cell 3.
Further, the cathode off-gas Oc discharged from the cathode channel 33 can be directly sent to the reformer 2 in a high temperature state close to the operating temperature of the fuel cell 3. Therefore, in the fuel cell system 1, the temperature at which the reformer 2 generates the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga and the operating temperature in the fuel cell 3 can be made almost the same.

Therefore, in this example, it is not necessary to provide a heat exchanger, a condenser, or the like necessary due to the difference in temperature between the reformer 2 and the fuel cell 3. Therefore, energy loss due to the use of them does not occur, and the structure of the fuel cell system 1 can be simplified.
Therefore, according to the fuel cell system 1 of the present example, the structure can be simplified, and the total amount of generated water can be recovered from the cathode channel 33, and the cathode offgas Oc, anode offgas Oa, and refrigerant can be recovered. The energy efficiency of the fuel cell system 1 can be improved by utilizing the high-temperature thermal energy that each of the off-gass Or has.

Next, the case where the power generation by the fuel cell 3 in the fuel cell system 1 is stopped to generate hydrogen will be described.
In the fuel cell system 1 of the present example, as described above, the short-circuit means 91 that can electrically short-circuit the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331 is disposed, and the cathode off gas. A hydrogen storage means 92 is connected to the line 46. Therefore, the fuel cell system 1 can perform hydrogen generation and storage by actively utilizing the fuel cell when power generation is unnecessary.

First, as described above, the fuel cell 3 is configured so as to separate hydrogen from the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga introduced into the anode flow path 32 and to guide the protons to the cathode flow path 33. ing. Here, even when power supply from the fuel cell system 1 is no longer necessary (when power generation is no longer necessary), at least immediately after that, the hydrogen-containing reformed gas exists in the anode flow path. The state is continuing. In addition, the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga can be actively sent to the fuel cell 3.

When the hydrogen generation is started after the power generation is stopped, the cathode gas supply stop mechanism 93 is operated to stop the supply of the oxygen-containing gas Gc to the cathode flow path 33 and the switch unit 911 of the short-circuit means 91. Is switched to the closed state, and the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331 are electrically short-circuited. Further, the cathode offgas three-way regulating valve 61 on the cathode offgas line 46 is operated to connect the bypass line 461 connected to the hydrogen storage means 92 and the cathode flow path 33.

Thereby, although power generation does not occur, separation and protonation of hydrogen from the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga existing in the anode channel 32 can be advanced. On the cathode electrode 331, hydrogen molecules can be generated by combining electrons and protons supplied by the short circuit.
The generated hydrogen gas composed of hydrogen molecules is guided from the cathode channel 33 to the bypass line 461 of the cathode offgas line 46. Then, hydrogen gas is stored in the hydrogen storage means 92 connected to the bypass line 461.

Thus, since the fuel cell system 1 of the present example includes the short-circuit means 91 and the hydrogen storage means 92, even when power generation is no longer necessary, the fuel cell 3 is actively used to produce high-purity hydrogen. Can be generated and stockpiled. The produced hydrogen does not need to be consumed immediately, but can be temporarily stored in the hydrogen storage means 92 and taken out when necessary and used for various purposes.
Therefore, the fuel cell system 1 of the present example has a simple structure as described above, and can be operated stably and efficiently at the time of power generation. In addition, the fuel cell system 1 is adapted to a new application using stored hydrogen. It is also possible.

(Example 2)
In this example, as shown in FIG. 3, the configurations of the oxygen-containing gas supply line 43 and the cathode offgas line 46 connected to the fuel cell 3 in Example 1 are slightly changed, and the other configurations are the same as those in Example 1. It is an example.
Specifically, as shown in the figure, as a flow path switching mechanism 931 that branches the bypass line 431 from the oxygen-containing gas supply line 43 and switches the flow path of the oxygen-containing gas Gc to the bypass line 431 at the branch point. A three-way valve is provided. By switching the flow path, the supply of the oxygen-containing gas Gc to the cathode flow path 33 can be stopped. The bypass line 431 is opened to the outside air.

Further, as shown in the figure, a pump which is a pressure reducing mechanism 925 is disposed in a bypass line 461 branched from the cathode offgas line 46 via a cathode offgas three-way regulating valve 61. As the pressure reducing mechanism 925, an ejector or the like can be adopted in addition to the pump.

In the fuel cell system of this example, when power generation is stopped from the power generation state and switched to the hydrogen generation state, the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331 are electrically short-circuited by the short-circuit means 91 and the oxygen-containing gas supply line By operating the three-way valve of the flow path switching mechanism 931 at 43, the flow of the entire amount of the oxygen-containing gas Gc is instantaneously switched to the bypass line 431. Further, the pressure reducing mechanism 925 on the bypass line 461 of the cathode offgas line 46 is operated to reduce the pressure in the cathode flow path 33.

By such an operation, the supply stop responsiveness of the oxygen-containing gas Gc to the cathode channel 33 is increased, and the purity of the obtained hydrogen can be improved. Further, by reducing the pressure in the cathode channel 33 by the pressure reducing mechanism 925, the permeation rate of hydrogen to the cathode channel 33 side can be increased. Therefore, high purity hydrogen can be obtained more efficiently than in the case of Example 1. In other respects, the same effects as those of the first embodiment can be obtained.

(Example 3)
In this example, as shown in FIG. 4, a pump is disposed as a pressure pressurizing means 94 for increasing the pressure in the anode flow path 32 in the reformed gas supply line 42 connected to the fuel cell 3 in the first embodiment. Other examples are the same as those in the second embodiment.
In this case, the pressure in the anode channel 32 can be increased by pressurizing the hydrogen-containing reformed gas Ga by the pressure pressurizing means 94 and sending it to the anode channel 32. Thereby, the hydrogen partial pressure can be increased and the permeation rate of hydrogen to the cathode channel side can be increased. In other respects, the same functions and effects as those of Embodiments 1 and 2 can be obtained.

Example 4
In this example, as shown in FIG. 5, a throttle valve as a pressure adjusting mechanism 95 for adjusting the pressure in the anode flow path 32 is disposed on the anode offgas line 45 connected to the fuel cell 3 in the first embodiment. Other examples are the same as those in the second embodiment.
In this case, the pressure in the anode flow path 32 can be increased by adjusting the flow rate or the like of the anode off gas Oa by the pressure adjusting mechanism 95. Thereby, the hydrogen partial pressure can be increased and the permeation rate of hydrogen to the cathode channel side can be increased. In other respects, the same operational effects as those of the first and second embodiments can be obtained.

(Example 5)
This example is a fuel cell system mounted on a vehicle. As shown in FIG. 6, a motor 81 that converts kinetic energy to generate regenerative power when the vehicle decelerates, and the regenerative power and fuel cell 3 generate power. In this example, a secondary battery 82 for storing surplus power is further provided.
As shown in the figure, in the fuel cell system of this example, the fuel cell 3 is electrically connected to the short-circuit means 91, the secondary battery 82, the inverter 83, and the motor 81. The surplus power generated in the fuel cell 3 and the regenerative power generated from the motor 81 can be stored in the secondary battery 82.

Here, there is no particular problem if the charging capacity of the secondary battery 82 is not limited, but it is usually necessary to suppress the charging capacity to the minimum necessary in order to reduce weight and size. For this reason, when regenerative power is generated by the motor 81, if surplus power due to power generation by the fuel cell 3 continues to occur, power may exceed the charge capacity of the secondary battery 82. In this case, the power exceeding the charging capacity can only be discarded.
On the other hand, the short-circuit means 91 of this example is configured to short-circuit the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331 when the regenerative power is generated by the motor 81.

Therefore, for example, hydrogen can be generated and stored without using the surplus hydrogen-containing reformed gas supplied to the fuel cell 3 due to the reaction delay of the reformer without generating power in the fuel cell 3. On the other hand, the regenerative power generated from the motor 81 can be charged into the secondary battery 82 without considering the power generation from the fuel cell 3. Therefore, the allowable range of regenerative power that can be charged by the secondary battery 82 when the vehicle is decelerating can be expanded and the regenerative power can be charged reliably, while the surplus hydrogen-containing reformed gas is effectively used. It can be stored and converted to hydrogen.

Furthermore, when regenerative electric power is generated by the motor 81, the electric power that cannot be stored in the secondary battery 82 among the regenerative electric power is used to apply a potential between the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331. You can also. In this case, the fuel cell 3 can be used as a hydrogen pump, and hydrogen can be obtained more efficiently.

(Example 6)
In this example, as shown in FIG. 7, the configuration of the cathode offgas line 46 in Example 2 is slightly changed, and an oxygen-containing gas discharge means 75 is newly provided.
That is, as shown in the figure, a three-way valve 751 is added between the pump that is the pressure reducing mechanism 925 described above and the hydrogen storage unit 92. The three-way valve 751 is configured such that the discharge destination of the pump 925 can be switched between the hydrogen storage unit 92 and the outside. Then, by operating the pump 925 and the three-way valve 751, before the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331 are short-circuited by the short-circuit means 91, the oxygen-containing gas existing in the cathode flow path 33 is discharged to the outside. The means for discharging is the oxygen-containing gas discharging means 75.

By providing the oxygen-containing gas discharge means 75, the oxygen-containing gas in the cathode channel 33 can be discharged before the anode electrode 321 and the cathode electrode 331 are short-circuited. Thereby, it can suppress that the hydrogen molecule which generate | occur | produced at the cathode after the short circuit reacts with the oxygen containing gas in the cathode flow path 33 directly. Therefore, it is possible to suppress a decrease in the amount of hydrogen stored due to a direct reaction between hydrogen molecules and oxygen-containing gas.
In other respects, the same functions and effects as those of Embodiments 1 and 2 can be obtained.
