Abstract
【解決手段】 固体撮像装置は、2次元表面を画定する半導体基板と、前記半導体基板の受光領域に、複数行複数列に渡って配置された多数個の光電変換素子と、各フィールドには少なくとも1色の垂直方向に隣接する前記光電変換素子の信号電荷を含むように、前記複数の光電変換素子に蓄積された信号電荷を複数フィールドに分けてインターレース読み出しを行う電荷読み出し手段と、前記複数フィールドに分けて読み出した信号電荷を各フィールドごとに垂直加算する垂直加算手段とを有する。

Description
垂直電荷転送装置914は、図示しない垂直転送チャネルと該垂直転送チャネル上方に、絶縁膜(図示せず)を挟んで形成される転送電極が光電変換素子12の間隙を蛇行するように水平方向に形成されている。
Claims (8)
- 2次元表面を画定する半導体基板と、
前記半導体基板の受光領域に、複数行複数列に渡って配置された多数個の光電変換素子と、
各フィールドには少なくとも1色の垂直方向に隣接する前記光電変換素子の信号電荷を含むように、前記複数の光電変換素子に蓄積された信号電荷を複数フィールドに分けてインターレース読み出しを行う電荷読み出し手段と、
前記複数フィールドに分けて読み出した信号電荷を各フィールドごとに垂直加算する垂直加算手段と
を有する固体撮像装置。 - 前記複数フィールドは、前記多数個の光電変換素子の略半数を読み出す第1フィールドと、残りの略半数を読み出す第2フィールドである請求項1記載の固体撮像装置。
- 前記少なくとも1色は緑色(G)である請求項1又は2記載の固体撮像装置。
- 前記垂直加算手段は、少なくとも1色の垂直方向に隣接する複数の光電変換素子の信号電荷を含む各フィールドの同色信号を垂直方向に加算する請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の固体撮像装置。
- 前記光電変換素子は、正方行列の第1正方格子と前記第1正方格子の格子間位置に格子点を有する第2正方格子とのそれぞれの格子点に配置される請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の固体撮像装置。
- 前記第1正方格子の格子点には緑色(G)の画素が配置され、前記第2正方格子の格子点には赤色(R)と青色(B)の画素が交互に配置される請求項5記載の固体撮像装置。
- さらに、前記各フィールドごとに垂直加算された信号電荷の同一色信号電荷を水平方向に加算する水平加算手段を有する請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の固体撮像装置。
- さらに、前記複数フィールドの信号を字空間的に合成し1フレームの画像を生成するフレーム生成手段を有する請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載の固体撮像装置。
