Description

The present invention is a portable device in which a UIM having a non-contact communication function or both contact and non-contact communication functions is detachably mounted and performs non-contact communication with an external device. In particular, unintended communication with an external device is performed. It relates to a portable device that has been prevented.
Such portable devices can be used for settlement transactions such as contactless gate management and contactless shopping for facilities, transportation, etc., and secondly, if a liquid crystal display is provided, various information can be displayed. In addition, if a USB connector or a USB receiving socket is provided, it can be used for access authority authentication applications such as a personal computer (PC).

In recent years, an IC card having a contact defined by ISO 7816-2 and ISO 7816-3 and a non-contact interface defined by ISO 14443 has been put into practical use.
On the other hand, a dual interface IC card with USB (Universal Serial Bus) contact has been developed (Patent Document 1). An IC card having a USB interface facilitates connection with a USB compatible device such as a personal computer, and has begun to attract attention as an ID card for network access such as an employee ID card.

On the other hand, security ID modules called small SIMs, UIMs, and USIM cards have been incorporated in mobile phones, and they have already been put into practical use by being incorporated in the latest mobile phones in Japan.
A UIM (User Identity Module) is a small IC card in which contractor information issued by a mobile phone company is recorded, and is incorporated into a mobile phone and used to identify a user. For example, a UIM is considered to be inserted into an American cdma2000 mobile phone and receive an international roaming service.

The applicant of the present application has previously proposed a SIM holder in which a SIM using an IC chip having a dual interface of contact and non-contact is detachably mounted in Patent Document 2 and Patent Document 3.
Patent Documents 4 and 5 propose a SIM reader / writer with a liquid crystal display.
The function itself of the portable device according to the present application is the same as the SIM reader / writer disclosed in Patent Documents 2 to 5.

In this specification, the term UIM, which has been used more frequently than SIM, will be used in the following description. UIM has the same function as SIM.
Therefore, in this specification, UIM is a generic term for small IC cards including SIMs and USIMs (Universal SIMs).

Patent Document 6 discloses a composite IC card of a contactless interface and a contact interface having a switch for turning on / off the conduction between the antenna and the contactless interface. It is a mechanism for preventing malfunction between non-contact / contact interfaces, such as invalidating the operation of the non-contact interface while the card is activated. Regardless of whether or not it is used, the non-contact interface has a different purpose from a switch that prevents operation in a scene that is not intended to be used and that can be operated only when it is intended to be used.

JP-T-2002-525720 Japanese Patent Application No. 2002-244613 Japanese Patent Application No. 2002-284825 Japanese Patent Application No. 2003-046656 Japanese Patent Application No. 2003-0466657 Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 11-272822

Usually, the function of a non-contact IC card is activated by radio waves from an external system and cannot be controlled on the card side. For this reason, the card operates in a scene that is not intended by the user who is the user, resulting in a troublesome operation that requires cancellation or the like. The prior art described above has not solved this problem.
In recent years, non-contact IC cards have been widely used for applications such as ID employee ID cards (admission cards), payment (electronic money), and transportation (commuter pass, boarding ticket). The number of possession is increasing. Therefore, there is a problem that the operation in the unintended scene as described above increases, which is a burden on the owner.

The gist of the present invention for solving the above-described problems is that a UIM having a contact defined by ISO 7816-2 and ISO 7816-3 and a non-contact interface defined by ISO 14443 is detachably mounted, and an antenna for contactless communication is provided. By providing non-contact communication prohibition means in the circuit that connects the antenna part and UIM in a portable device, the operation of the non-contact communication function in an unintended scene is prevented, and non-contact communication is performed only in the intended scene. In a portable device, which is characterized by being capable of

In the above, the contactless communication prohibiting means includes a mechanical operation switch that disconnects the circuit between the antenna portion and the UIM, a relay that disconnects the circuit between the antenna portion and the UIM, a photo relay, a solid state relay, and a varicap diode. It is possible to adopt one that changes the resonance frequency of the antenna, one that changes the Q value of the antenna by a digital potentiometer or a variable resistor, and the like.
In the case of a mechanical operation switch, a push switch is used to enable non-contact communication while the switch is pressed, and a non-contact communication is turned on / off for each switch operation using a slide switch. Can be switched.
Furthermore, the portable device may include a liquid crystal display, a fingerprint sensor, an IC chip that can convert the ISO 7816 interface into a USB interface, and a USB connector or a USB receiving socket.

In the portable device of the present invention, since the communication prohibition means is provided in the circuit connecting the antenna part and the UIM, the user cancels the communication prohibition means even when the UIM non-contact communication function is activated. Unless it is intentionally operated. That is, since unintended transactions and settlement processes are not inadvertent, there is no inconvenience of performing a procedure for canceling the processes.
Since the non-contact communication prohibiting means can be turned on / off by a simple switch operation, anyone can easily use it.

A portable device of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The portable device of the present invention is divided into four embodiments according to the aspect of the non-contact communication prohibiting means.
1 is a diagram showing a first embodiment of the portable device of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a diagram showing the second embodiment, FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the third embodiment, and FIG. FIG. 5 is a diagram showing the overall configuration of the mobile device, FIG. 6 is a block diagram of the mobile device of the first embodiment, and FIG. 7 is a mobile phone of the second, third, and fourth embodiments. It is an apparatus block diagram.

In the first embodiment of the portable device 1 of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 1, there is a switch circuit 5 between the antenna coil 11 and the C8 terminal (which may be the C4 terminal side) of the contact terminal plate 2t of the UIM2. The switch circuit 5 is turned on / off by an antenna switch button 45 (see FIG. 6). In this case, it is turned on / off by a mechanical operation switch, but it may be an electromagnetic switch or the like as well as a pure mechanical one.
The contact terminal board 2t is a contact IC card or UIM2 terminal board, and has eight terminal surfaces as is well known. C1 (Vcc), C2 (RST), C3 (CLK), C5 (GND), C6 (Vpp), and C7 (I / O). Each pad of the IC chip mounted on the back surface of the terminal board is connected to each terminal surface via a through hole or the like.
The C4 and C8 terminals are RFU (Revised for Future Use) terminals and are not currently used in the contact type. Therefore, the contactless communication function part of the IC chip is connected to the C4 and C8 terminals. The antenna coil 11 provided in the portable device is also connected to the terminal by a contact pin.

In the first embodiment, when a mechanical operation switch is used, a slide switch or a push switch can be used. Specifically, for example, a switch that can be easily operated with a fingertip such as a slide switch such as “SSAD series” manufactured by Alps Electric Co., Ltd. or a push switch such as “SPPJ6 series”. The slide switch of this embodiment is operated by switching between the use state and the non-use state. In the case of a push switch, contactless communication cannot be used unless the switch is being pressed.

In the second embodiment of the portable device 1 of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 2, a relay 6 is provided between the antenna coil 11 and the C8 terminal (which may be the C4 terminal side) of the contact terminal plate 2t of the UIM2.
Specifically, for example, a low on-resistance photorelay such as “TPL172” manufactured by Toshiba Corporation, a general relay, a solid state relay, or the like can be used.
A relay (relay) generally refers to a device that opens and closes a circuit when a current, voltage, power, or the like exceeds or falls below a preset value. The photo relay is composed of three types of elements: an input side light emitting element, an output side light receiving element + MOSFET. Light from the input side light emitting element (LED) is received by the output side light emitting element (photodiode) and converted into a voltage. This voltage becomes a gate voltage to drive the MOSFET. In order to transmit the signal by converting electricity into light, there is a feature that the input and output are electrically insulated and that there is no contact wear because there is no contact.
Solid state relays are non-contact relays composed of semiconductor elements and are characterized by high-speed controllability and high durability.

In this embodiment, there is an effect that the circuit can be automatically opened and closed by a control program or the like because the operation is not performed by mechanical operation but electrically.
FIG. 2 shows that the relay 6 is operated by a control signal. In this case, the operation of the antenna switch button 45 of the mobile device 1 is an operation of turning on / off the operation of the relay 6 via, for example, the CPU.

In the third embodiment of the portable device 1 of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 3, the voltage is applied between the antenna coil 11 and the C4 terminal (may be on the C8 terminal side) of the contact terminal plate 2t of the UIM2. A variable capacitance (variable capacitance <variable capacitance>) diode 7 having a variable capacitance is provided, and the C8 terminal side is grounded. Specifically, for example, a varicap diode such as “MA2S374” manufactured by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. can be used.
In this embodiment, by changing the control voltage, it is possible to control whether or not non-contact communication can be performed by changing the capacity and shifting the resonance frequency. On the other hand, there is also a new effect that the fine adjustment of the resonance frequency according to the characteristics of the mobile device can be performed without changing the components.
In this case, the operation of the antenna switch button 45 of the portable device 1 is, for example, an on / off operation of a control signal for the varicap diode 7 via the CPU.

In the fourth embodiment of the portable device 1 of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 4, a digital potentiometer and a variable resistor 8 are provided between the antenna coil 11 and the C4 terminal of the contact terminal plate 2t of the UIM2. Specifically, for example, a digital potentiometer such as “MAX5491” manufactured by MAXIM can be used.
In this embodiment, the Q value (value representing the sharpness of resonance of the resonance circuit) is changed by changing the resistance value in the digital potentiometer or variable resistor by the control signal, and whether or not the non-contact communication can be executed is determined. Can be controlled.
In this case, the operation of the antenna switch button 45 of the portable device 1 is, for example, an on / off operation of a control signal for the digital potentiometer via the CPU.

In the second, third, and fourth embodiments described so far, the switch operation signal is set to the on / off operation that is a function of the present invention such as a relay via the CPU. It can be easily analogized that the operation switch can directly send a control signal to the circuit to cause it to function, and whether or not it passes through the CPU is not an absolute requirement.

Next, the overall configuration of the mobile device will be described.
FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating an example of the overall configuration of the mobile device 1, and includes the liquid crystal display 4, the fingerprint sensor 16, and the USB receiving socket 30. 5A is an external perspective view, and FIG. 5B is a cross-sectional view of the UIM2 mounting portion of the portable device.
As shown in FIG. 5A, the mobile device 1 is configured such that the UIM 2 can be detachably inserted from the insertion port 15 at the right end. The UIM terminal board 12 has a structure in which the 8 terminals of the contact terminal board 2t provided in the UIM 2 are connected via contact pins (not shown). In the UIM contact terminal plate 12, C4 and C8 terminals, which are spare terminals, are connected to the wire antenna coil 11 in the casing of the mobile device 1. Non-contact communication prohibiting means is provided in the circuit connecting the antenna coil 11 and the C4 or C8 terminal.
The antenna coil 11 is for performing non-contact communication in conformity with ISO14443 Type A, B. Thereby, even when UIM2 itself does not have an antenna coil, non-contact communication can be performed through the antenna coil 11.

FIG. 6 is a block diagram of the portable device of the present invention, and shows the case of the first embodiment.
The portable device 1 of the present invention has a control IC chip 3 for controlling the entire portable device 1 as shown in FIG. The UIM 2 signal is connected to the control IC chip 3 via the UIM terminal board 12 and the relay 9. The UIM 2 is illustrated as being provided with electronic money and an electronic ticket as an example of an application, but is not limited thereto.

The antenna coil 11 can be wired along the inner periphery of the upper lid portion 18 and the lower case portion 19 of the casing. However, in order to enhance the non-contact communication function with an external device, the antenna coil 11 is placed under the side opposite to the liquid crystal display 4. It is preferably provided in the side case portion 19. The antenna wire is a coated copper wire having a diameter of about 0.3 mm and can be wound about 8 times (8 turns).
The non-contact communication prohibiting means is provided between the antenna coil 11 and the C4 and C8 terminals of the terminal plate 12. In the case of the first embodiment of FIG. 6, the switch circuit 5 is provided between the antenna coil 11 and the C8 terminal. In the case of a mechanical operation switch, the switch circuit 5 and the antenna switch button 45 are usually integrated.

FIG. 7 is a block diagram of the portable device of the present invention, and shows the cases of the second, third, and fourth embodiments. In these embodiments, the control signal S is transmitted from the CPU of the control IC chip 3 to the relay, photorelay, solid state relay 6, varicap diode 7, digital potentiometer, variable resistor 8, and the like. However, the antenna switch button 45 turns the control signal S on and off.
The antenna switch button 45 itself is not limited to a mechanical one, and is not particularly limited as long as the control signal can be turned on / off. The control signal may be turned on or off only when the antenna switch button 45 is pressed, or the on / off state may be switched by pressing the antenna switch button 45 or the like.
Between the antenna coil 11 and the C4 or C8 terminal, a relay, a photo relay, a solid state relay 6, a varicap diode 7, a digital potentiometer, a variable resistor 8, and the like are installed.
