Abstract
Description
【0001】

SOC=SOCo−Σ(放電電流×時間)・・・(1)
SOC=SOCo+Σ(充電電流×時間×充電効率(RCE))・・・(2)

【0065】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for estimating a state of charge of a battery, and a method and an apparatus for estimating an open circuit voltage.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Since a battery mounted on a vehicle is equivalent to gasoline in a vehicle using a general engine as a propulsion drive source, particularly in an electric vehicle using a motor as a sole propulsion drive source, the state of charge SOC (State of State) It is very important to recognize how much the battery is charged, such as charge, in order to ensure normal running of the vehicle.
[0003]
In addition, in recent years, in general vehicles using an engine as a propulsion power source, and hybrid vehicles in which the power generated by the engine is assisted by a motor, the engine is stopped when the vehicle is stopped due to a signal waiting at an intersection or the like, from the viewpoint of environmental protection. Equipped with an idle stop function to make it work.
[0004]
In vehicles equipped with this function, when the engine is restarted, a considerable large current is discharged from the battery to the starter motor and the power assist motor also serving as the starter motor. If the dischargeable capacity that can withstand the large current discharge does not remain in the battery, it is impossible to idle-stop vigorously.
[0005]
For this reason, the amount of coulomb stored in the battery mounted on the vehicle (such as the above-described state of charge SOC and the dischargeable capacity (Available Discharge Capacity (ADC)) indicating how much remaining dischargeable capacity remains in the battery). Accurately grasping the state related to the amount of electricity is very important not only for the electric vehicle described above, but also for ordinary vehicles and hybrid vehicles.
[0006]
The state of charge SOC represents the amount of coulomb stored in the battery as a ratio (%) to the full capacity of the battery, and is expressed as SOC (%). This SOC (%) is generally estimated based on an open circuit voltage (OCV).
[0007]
Japanese Patent Laying-Open No. 2001-351698 (Patent Document 1) discloses a method of detecting the state of charge of a lead storage battery based on OCV. In this method, the OCV at the time of discharging the storage battery is measured, the SOC is obtained based on a preset linear relationship between the OCV of the storage battery and the SOC, and the storage battery is charged based on the obtained SOC. When obtaining the SOC, the change in the OCV and the change in the SOC in a predetermined time are measured, and the preset relationship between the OCV and the SOC of the storage battery is corrected.

[0009]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, as shown in the actual measurement example of the relationship between the OCV and the SOC in FIG. 7, the relationship between the OCV and the SOC actually keeps a linear relationship in the SOC region where the state of charge (%) exceeds 20 to 30%. However, in a low SOC region of 20 to 30% or less, the actually measured OCV decreases, and the linear relationship is broken. In the above-described related art, it is not considered that the linear relationship between the OCV and the SOC is broken when the SOC is low.
[0010]
In the related art, when charging / discharging is performed, the SOC is calculated from the OCV, and then the charging / discharging current is integrated with the calculated SOC to calculate the SOC after charging / discharging. However, as shown in FIG. 8, when the SOC after charging is calculated by integrating the charging current from the state of low SOC at the time of charging, charging proceeds and the SOC after charging exceeds 20 to 30%. In the SOC region, the error between the OCV corresponding to the calculated SOC on the OCV vs. SOC characteristic (the straight line indicated by the arrow in the drawing) based on the integration of the charging current and the OCV in the relationship between the actually measured OCV and the SOC is calculated. The problem that it becomes large arises.
[0011]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a method and apparatus for estimating a state of charge of a battery that can accurately estimate an SOC even in a low SOC area in view of the above-described conventional problems.
[0012]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a method and apparatus for estimating an open circuit voltage of a battery that can effectively estimate an open circuit voltage even in a low SOC region in view of the above-described conventional problems.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a battery charger for estimating a state of charge of a battery based on a relationship between a preset open circuit voltage (OCV) and a state of charge (SOC) of the battery. A state estimating method, wherein the relationship between the preset open circuit voltage (OCV) and the state of charge (SOC) of the battery is determined by comparing SOC data in a region exceeding a predetermined value SOC and OCV data corresponding to the SOC in the region. The OCV after charging / discharging is measured as an approximate expression by using, and if the measured OCV after charging / discharging exceeds the OCV corresponding to the SOC of the predetermined value in the approximate expression, the approximation is performed. The measured OCV after charging / discharging is substituted into the equation, an SOC corresponding to the substituted OCV is estimated as a state of charge (SOC) of the battery after charging / discharging, and the measured charging / discharging is performed. If the subsequent OCV is equal to or less than the OCV corresponding to the SOC of the predetermined value in the approximation formula, the SOC calculated by adding / subtracting the integrated value of the charging / discharging current to / from the SOC before charging / discharging is used as the battery after charging / discharging. The state of charge (SOC) of the battery.
[0014]
According to the first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for estimating a state of charge of a battery based on a preset relationship between an open circuit voltage (OCV) of the battery and a state of charge (SOC), A relationship between a preset open circuit voltage (OCV) and a state of charge (SOC) of the battery is obtained as an approximate expression using SOC data in a region exceeding a predetermined value SOC and OCV data corresponding to the SOC in the region, The OCV after charge / discharge is measured, and when the measured OCV after charge / discharge exceeds the OCV corresponding to the SOC of the predetermined value in the approximate expression, the OCV after charge / discharge measured in the approximate expression is used. The SOC corresponding to the substituted OCV is estimated as the state of charge (SOC) of the battery after charging and discharging, and the measured OCV after charging and discharging corresponds to the SOC of a predetermined value in the approximate expression. If the SOC is less than or equal to OCV, the SOC calculated by adding or subtracting the integrated value of the charging / discharging current to / from the SOC before charging / discharging is estimated as the state of charge (SOC) of the battery after charging / discharging. Can be estimated with high accuracy. Further, by setting the estimated OCV for the state of charge SOC (%) obtained by the approximate expression as the discharge end open circuit voltage, the dischargeable capacity (ADC) can be estimated with high accuracy over the entire area of the SOC. it can.
[0015]

According to the fifth aspect of the present invention, there is provided a battery open circuit voltage estimation method for estimating a battery open circuit voltage based on a preset relationship between a battery open circuit voltage (OCV) and a state of charge (SOC). The relationship between the battery open circuit voltage (OCV) and the state of charge (SOC) set in advance is approximated using SOC data in a region exceeding a predetermined value SOC and OCV data corresponding to the SOC in the region.
