Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a stencil printing apparatus that performs printing by winding a master around an outer peripheral surface of a plate cylinder, and more particularly, to a stencil printing apparatus having an image division printing function for forming a plurality of print images on paper.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A rotatable plate cylinder formed by winding a plurality of layers of a resin or metal mesh mesh screen around a porous support plate which is a porous support cylinder, and a thermoplastic resin film (having a thickness of about 1 to 3 μm); Is generally used) and a laminate having a laminated structure in which a porous support made of a Japanese paper fiber or a synthetic fiber or a mixture of a Japanese paper fiber and a synthetic fiber is laminated, and the thermoplastic resin of the master is used. The film surface is heated and perforated by a heating means such as a thermal head to form a plate, and then wound around a plate cylinder, and ink is supplied from an ink supply means provided inside the plate cylinder and supplied from a paper supply unit by a pressing means such as a press roller. By continuously pressing the fed paper against the plate-making master on the outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder, ink is exuded from the plate cylinder opening and the master perforation and transferred to the paper. Thermal digital stencil printing apparatus which performs printing is generally known.
[0003]
Among the stencil printing apparatuses described above, recently, a fully automatic type that automatically and continuously performs an image reading operation, a plate discharging operation, a plate making operation, a printing operation, and a printing operation has become mainstream. In this fully automatic stencil printing machine, when a document to be printed is set in the image reading unit, the number of prints is input, and then the start key is pressed, the image of the document is read by the image reading unit, and the image on the plate cylinder outer peripheral surface is displayed. After the used master that has been wound is separated by the plate discharging unit, the master that has been heated and melt-punched in the plate making unit having a thermal head and a platen roller is automatically wound around the plate cylinder, and the plate cylinder is driven at a low speed. The plate cylinder is rotated at a high speed after the printing is performed by pressing one of the sheets fed from the paper feed unit against the plate-making master on the outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder by the pressing member. At the same time, the paper is continuously fed from the paper feed unit, and the fed paper is successively pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder by the pressing member to perform printing.
[0004]
The stencil printing apparatus of this fully automatic type has a document size detecting means for detecting the size of a document set in an image reading unit and a paper size detecting means for detecting the size of a sheet set in a paper feeding unit. The plate making operation is performed only when the size of the document is smaller than the size of the sheet. For example, in a stencil printing apparatus capable of printing up to A3 size, the original set in the image reading unit is B4 size, and the paper set in the paper feeding unit is A4 size. A master on which a B4 size plate-making image is formed is wound around the cylinder, and when a printing operation is performed from this state, A4 size paper smaller than the B4 size plate-making image is used for the B4 size plate-making image. Since the ink is pressed by the pressing member, the ink that has passed through the plate-making image protruding from the paper is transferred to the pressing member without being transferred to the paper, and thereby the inside of the apparatus is soiled. In order to prevent such a problem from occurring, when the document size is larger than the paper size, only an image of a size that can fit on the paper (in this example, only the A4 size of the B4 size document) is made. It is configured as follows.
[0005]
However, since the size of the original is determined only by a fixed size (for example, postcard, A5, B5, A4, B4, A3) by the above-described original size detecting means, if it is desired to obtain an irregular-shaped printed matter such as a ticket or a label, The original size is recognized as a fixed size that is closest to the original size and larger than that size, and a print image cannot be efficiently printed on paper. This is not so much when one print image is formed on one sheet of paper, but it is not necessary to repeat printing (forming the same image a plurality of times) or forming a plurality of print images on one sheet of paper. In the case of image division printing such as intensive printing (forming a plurality of different images), the margin becomes too large, and the printing efficiency is greatly reduced.
[0006]
In order to solve the above-described problem, the size of an image to be erased is determined by using a frame erasing function (a function of preventing a shadow from forming around a printed image) provided in the stencil printing apparatus. This can be dealt with by specifying the size of the standard size document, storing it as the initial value, and recalling the stored initial value after setting the image division printing function to perform printing, but the operation is very troublesome. There is a problem that it is difficult for general users to master it.
[0007]
Therefore, the length of the document (the length in the sub-scanning direction) is set, the length of the sheet in the sub-scanning direction is detected, and the length of the sheet in the sub-scanning direction is divided by the length of the document. A stencil printing apparatus provided with a function (repeat function) for calculating whether or not an original image can be inserted and performing continuous printing on the master in accordance with the calculated number and making a stencil printing is disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Application Publication 1 ".

[Patent Document 1]
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-337739 (Pages 5 to 6, FIGS. 5 and 6)
[0009]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the above-described technique, since only the length of the document in the sub-scanning direction is set, it is not possible to cope with a case where there is an extra image in the main scanning direction. Further, since the setting is based on the document length, as shown in FIG. 7B and FIG. 8B of “Patent Document 1”, an incomplete incomplete image portion (masking If this operation is performed, an extra blank portion is formed.
[0010]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention solves the above problems, and provides a stencil printing apparatus and a sheet which can easily perform image division printing by setting a necessary portion even if an extra image exists in the main scanning direction of a document. [0044]
FIG. 5 shows a block diagram of the control means 98 used in the stencil printing apparatus 1. The control means 98, which is a known microcomputer disposed inside the apparatus main body 8, has a CPU 99, a ROM 100, a RAM 101, and the like. The ROM 100 stores an operation program for the entire stencil printing apparatus 1, and the RAM 101 stores plate making conditions such as a document type or a scaling ratio, printing conditions such as the number of prints or a printing speed, and the like.
[0045]
The operation of the stencil printing apparatus 1 based on the above configuration will be described below. First, the normal printing in which the repeat key 102 and the aggregation key 103 are not used will be described.
After the original 60 is set on the contact glass 62 and various plate-making conditions are set by the selection setting keys 94, 95, 96, and 97, the plate-making start key 81 on the operation panel 80 is depressed. The drive means is activated, and the plate cylinder 9 starts rotating clockwise in FIG. When the end of the used master 50 wound on the plate cylinder 9 reaches a position corresponding to the drive roller 47, the opening / closing means (not shown) is operated to open the clamper 15, and then the moving means (not shown) Actuates to move the lower plate discharging member 41, and the endless belt 49 located on the outer peripheral surface of the drive roller 47 comes into contact with the tip of the used master 50 located on the non-opening portion of the plate cylinder 9. The used master 50 is picked up by the lower plate discharging member 41, and is conveyed by the plate discharging members 40 and 41 as the plate cylinder 9 rotates. The transported used master 50 is stored in the plate discharge box 42 and then compressed by the compression plate 43. When the plate discharging operation is completed, the plate cylinder 9 is rotated to the plate feeding standby position where the clamper 15 is positioned almost right to the right and stopped, and thereafter the clamper 15 is opened by opening / closing means (not shown), and the stencil printing apparatus 1 is turned on. It goes into a standby state.
[0046]
When the plate discharging operation is completed, the scanning unit 73 moves rightward in FIG. 1 and the image of the document 60 is read. The read image is converged by the lens 74 and then sent to the image sensor 75, where it is converted into an image data signal. The converted image data signal is sent to a thermal head driver (not shown) via the control means 98. When the original 60 is placed on the original placing table 61 and the original detection sensor 76 detects the original 60, the original conveying roller pair 63 and the original conveying belt 67 are operated to move the original 60 to the contact glass. 62. When the document size detection sensor 77 detects the size of the document 60, the scanning unit 73 moves in the same manner as described above, and the image of the document 60 is read. The document 60 from which the image has been read is conveyed from above the contact glass 62 by the operation of the document conveying belt 87 and the document conveying roller 64, and is discharged onto the document tray 68.
[0047]
When the stencil printing machine 1 enters the stencil supply standby state, a stencil making operation is performed. After the clamper 15 is released, the stepping motor 29 operates to rotate the platen roller 22, and the master 27 is pulled out from the master roll 28. The drawn-out master 27 is perforated and plate-formed on a thermoplastic resin film surface by a heating element that selectively heats the master 27 based on an operation signal from a thermal head driver when passing through the thermal head 23. The master 27 that has been made is conveyed while applying a predetermined tension to the platen roller 22 by a master conveyance roller pair 25 that is rotationally driven at a peripheral speed slightly higher than the peripheral speed of the platen roller 22.
[0048]
When the leading end of the master 27 guided by the master guide plates 30 and 31 and conveyed by the platen roller 22 and the master conveying roller pairs 25 and 26 reaches a predetermined position between the stage 14 and the clamper 15, stepping is performed. When the control means 98 confirms from the number of steps of the motor 29, the opening / closing means (not shown) is operated to close the clamper 15, and the plate cylinder driving means is operated to move the plate cylinder 9 to a peripheral speed substantially equal to the transport speed of the master 27. To start the rotation again, and the operation of winding the master 27 having been made on the plate cylinder 9 is performed. When the control means 98 determines that the master 27 for one plate has been conveyed and made from the number of steps of the stepping motor 29, the cutting means 24 operates to cut the master 27, and at the same time, the platen roller 22 and each master conveyance roller. The operation of pairs 25 and 26 is stopped. The cut master 27 is pulled out of the plate making unit 3 by the rotation of the plate cylinder 9, and the winding operation is completed.
[0049]
After the completion of the winding operation, the sheet feeding roller 33 and the separation roller 34 rotate to feed one sheet of paper P from the sheet feeding unit 4, and the plate cylinder 9 is driven to rotate clockwise in FIG. Is done. The fed sheet P is temporarily stopped by abutting its leading end against the pair of registration rollers 36, and then rotated at a predetermined timing to rotate the registration roller pair 36 between the plate cylinder 9 and the press roller 11. It is fed toward. When the paper P reaches a predetermined position, a press roller swinging means (not shown) operates, and the press roller 11 is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder 9 with a predetermined pressing force. By this pressure contact, the ink supplied to the inner surface of the plate cylinder 9 by the ink supply means 10 is transferred to the sheet P via the plate cylinder opening, a mesh screen opening (not shown), and the perforation of the master 27, and the master is also moved. The porous support 27 is filled, and the master 27 and the outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder 9 are in close contact with each other.
[0050]
The paper P to which the ink has been transferred is peeled off from the outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder 9 by the peeling claw 51, and then falls onto the paper discharge transport member 52. The printed paper P sent to the paper discharge conveyance member 52 is conveyed to the left in FIG. 1 by the rotation of the drive roller 54 while being attracted onto the endless belt 56 by the suction force of the suction fan 57, and is discharged to the paper discharge tray. It is discharged on 53. With this series of operations, the stencil printing machine 1 completes the stencil printing operation and enters a printing standby state.
[0051]
After the stencil printing apparatus 1 is in the printing standby state, when the test printing key 83 on the operation panel 80 is pressed after the printing conditions are set by the printing speed setting key 90 or the like, a test printing operation is performed. When the test print key 83 is pressed, the plate cylinder 9 is driven to rotate clockwise in FIG. 1 at a peripheral speed corresponding to the set printing speed, and the paper feed roller 33 and the separation roller 34 rotate. One sheet P is fed from the sheet feeding unit 4. The fed sheet P is sent to the printing unit 2 after being timed by the pair of registration rollers 36, and is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder 9 by the press roller 11 in the same manner as at the time of plate setting, and an image is formed on one surface thereof. Is transcribed. The paper P on which the image has been transferred is peeled off from the outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder 9 by the peeling claw 51, conveyed by the paper discharge conveyance member 52, and discharged onto the paper discharge tray 53.
[0052]
After confirming the image position, density, and the like by trial printing, if the printing start key 82 on the operation panel 80 is pressed after the printing conditions are set by the numeric keypad 86 and the printing speed setting key 90, the printing operation is performed. . When the print start key 82 is pressed, the plate cylinder 9 is driven to rotate clockwise in FIG. 1 at a peripheral speed corresponding to the set printing speed, and the paper feed roller 33 and the separation roller 34 rotate. The paper P is continuously fed from the paper feeding unit 4. The fed sheet P is successively sent to the printing unit 2 at a predetermined timing in the same manner as the test printing, and after being pressed by the press roller 11 against the plate cylinder 9 to transfer the image to one surface thereof, The sheets are sequentially discharged and stacked on the discharge tray 53. Then, when the printing of the set number of sheets is completed, the operations of the respective units are stopped, and the stencil printing machine 1 is again in the printing standby state.
[0053]
Next, an operation at the time of image division printing in which the repeat key 102 is pressed will be described. The operator sets the paper P on the paper feed tray 32 and also sets the document 60 on the contact glass 62, and presses the selection setting key 95 after pressing the repeat key 102 to determine the magnification.
[0054]
When the stencil making start key 81 is depressed after the stencil making mode and other stencil making conditions are set, the stencil printing apparatus 1 is operated in the same manner as described above, and the stencil printing apparatus 1 is in the stencil feeding standby state. The plate making operation is performed. The control means 98 calculates an image area to be read from the document size and the magnification, and repeats the calculated image area to the full paper size to perform plate making. As a result, a repeat plate-making image is formed on the master 27.
[0055]
Thereafter, the printing operation is performed in the same manner as described above, and the printing start key 82 is pressed after various printing conditions are set after the printing operation, whereby the paper P is continuously fed from the paper feeding unit 4. Thus, the same printing operation as described above is performed. When the set number of prints is output, the stencil printing machine 1 is again in a printing standby state.
[0056]
Next, the operation at the time of image division printing when the aggregation key 103 is pressed will be described. The operator sets the paper P on the paper feed tray 32, sets the first original 60 on the contact glass 62, and presses the aggregation key 103. When the consolidation key 103 is pressed, the number of images that can be consolidated and printed on the paper P is displayed on the display device 93 (two or four in this embodiment), and the operator sets each of the selection setting keys 94, 95, The number of images is set using 96 and 97. In this embodiment, it is assumed that four planes have been selected.
[0057]
After the setting of the number of images, scaling factors (for example, 87% for original size A4, paper size B4, and two images) according to the original size, paper size, and number of images, and plate making conditions such as a plate making mode were set. When the master making start key 81 is pressed later, the master making operation is performed after the stencil printing machine 1 is in the stencil feeding standby state by performing the master discharging operation in the same manner as described above. The control unit 98 divides the plate making area on the master 27 into four parts according to the set number of images, and stores the image of the first document 60 in the first area (corresponding to the image “A” shown in FIG. 4). Make a plate.
[0058]
When the stencil making operation for the first original 60 is completed, the stencil printing apparatus 1 sounds a buzzer and urges the operator to set the second original. The operator sets the second original 60 on the contact glass 62, sets the prepress conditions, and then presses the prepress start key 81. Thus, a plate making image corresponding to the second document 60 is formed in the second area (corresponding to the image “B” shown in FIG. 4) on the master 27.
[0059]
Similarly, after the third and fourth originals 60 are set on the contact glass 62 and the master making start key 81 is pressed, an aggregated master making image corresponding to each original 60 is formed on the master 27. Is done. When the plate making operation for the fourth document 60 is completed, the plate making operation is performed in the same manner as described above, and after the various printing conditions are set after the plate making operation, the print start key 82 is pressed, and The paper P is continuously fed from the unit 4 and the same printing operation as described above is performed. When the set number of prints is output, the stencil printing machine 1 is again in a printing standby state.
[0060]
At the time of the above-described repeat printing and collective printing, the size of the document 60 is automatically detected by the document size detection sensor 77. However, since the size of the original 60 that can be detected by the original size detection sensor 77 is a fixed size, if the original 60 is irregular, it is recognized as a fixed size larger than the size of the original 60. I can't get it. For example, if the user wants to repeat print an original 60 that is half the size of a postcard, the size of the original 60 is recognized as a postcard, and only four prints can be printed on eight sheets of A4 paper P. . The same applies to the aggregate printing, and the image size is reduced because the document size is recognized as being large.
[0061]
Therefore, the present invention includes an image size input unit for inputting the size of an image to be read regardless of the size of the document 60. Hereinafter, an image division printing operation using the image size input unit will be described as a first embodiment.
When the operator presses the repeat key 102, the display on the display device 93 changes as shown in FIG. The operator selects whether the size of the document 60 is standard or irregular, and presses the selection setting key 97 corresponding to the display 93d indicating the setting. When the fixed form is selected, the same operation as described above is performed.
[0062]
When an irregular shape is selected and the selection setting key 97 is pressed, the display on the display device 93 changes as shown in FIG. The operator presses the numeric keypad 86 to input the image size in each of the vertical and horizontal directions, and then presses the selection setting key 97. Thus, the image size is set, and the set image size is stored in the RAM 101. At the time of this setting, the ten keys 86 function as image size input means. The image size set at this time is, for example, the size from the origin position set at the upper left corner of the contact glass 62.
[0063]
After setting the image size and setting the scaling ratio in the same manner as described above, the control unit 98 calculates the number of images to be repeatedly printed from the set image size and scaling ratio, and automatically arranges the images. At this time, for example, when the sheet P is A4 vertical size and the image size is larger in the horizontal direction than in the vertical direction, the image may be rotated and arranged by 90 degrees.
[0064]
A stencil making operation is performed based on such an arrangement, and thereafter, a stencil printing device 1 enters a printing standby state by performing a stencil feeding operation and a stencil printing operation in the same manner as described above. Thereafter, the printing operation is performed in the same manner as described above by pressing the print start key 82 after setting various printing conditions.
In the above description, only repeat printing has been described, but aggregate printing is performed in a similar procedure. With such a configuration, it is possible to easily perform the image division printing even if the original 60 has an irregular size.
[0065]
In the above embodiment, the image size is inputted by the length from the origin position. However, as a modification of the above embodiment, as shown in FIG. 8, the image size is inputted from a position distant from the origin position. It may be. With such a configuration, it becomes possible to reproduce only necessary images at the maximum size by deleting extra parts such as margins.
[0066]
In the first embodiment and the modified example, the above-described functions and effects can be expected. However, since each image is arranged so that the image can fit within the size of the sheet P in consideration of the image size and the scaling ratio, As shown in FIG. 9, an incomplete image portion (in this example, a blank with masking) is generated on the sheet P. Therefore, an example in which an original 60 of an irregular size is image-divided printed without generating a blank on the sheet P will be described below as a second embodiment. In the second embodiment, there is provided a division number setting unit for setting the division number for dividing the paper P into a plurality of areas regardless of the size of the document 60 and the size of the image.
[0067]
When the operator presses the repeat key 102, the display on the display 93 changes as shown in FIG. 6. When an irregular shape is selected from this state and the selection setting key 97 is pressed, the display on the display 93 is displayed. Changes as shown in FIG. The operator sets the number of divisions using the selection setting keys 94, 95, 96, 97 and the ten keys 86. Thereby, the image division number of the sheet P is set, and the set division number is stored in the RAM 101. At this time, each of the selection setting keys 94, 95, 96, 97 and the numeric keypad 86 function as a division number setting unit. In this embodiment, selectable image division divides the sheet P, for example, as shown in FIG.
[0068]
After setting the number of divisions, when the magnification is set in the same manner as in the first embodiment, the control means 98 automatically arranges images based on the detected paper size and the set number of divisions. At this time, if the image size after scaling is larger than the image-divided area, the image that extends beyond the area is not made.
[0069]
A stencil making operation is performed based on such an arrangement, and thereafter, a stencil printing device 1 enters a printing standby state by performing a stencil feeding operation and a stencil printing operation in the same manner as described above. Thereafter, the printing operation is performed in the same manner as described above by pressing the print start key 82 after setting various printing conditions. Note that the aggregate printing is performed in a similar procedure. With such a configuration, it is possible to easily perform the image division printing without forming a large incomplete image portion on the paper P even if the original 60 has an irregular size.
[0070]
In the second embodiment, when the image size after zooming is larger than the image-divided area, the image that is out of the area is not made. However, the size of the image-divided area is stored and stored. Comparison means for comparing the size of the read area with the size of the image read by the image reading unit 7 so as to automatically change the size of the image so that the image falls within the area and the size of the image within the area is not too small. A configuration for performing doubling and / or a configuration for automatically rotating an image by 90 degrees may be adopted. With this configuration, a printed matter having an image of an appropriate size can be obtained.
[0071]
【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, the print image corresponding to the original image formed on the paper is automatically arranged based on the image size input by the image size input means and the detection result by the paper size detection means. , It is possible to easily perform image division printing even for documents of the same type.
[0072]
According to the present invention, a print image corresponding to a document image formed on a sheet is automatically arranged based on a detection result by a sheet size detection unit and a division number set by a division number setting unit. Even in the case of an irregular-shaped document, image division printing can be easily performed without forming an unnecessary incomplete image portion.
