【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a camera-equipped mobile terminal that includes a camera including an optical unit that forms an image of a subject on a light-receiving sensor in which a plurality of light-receiving elements are arranged in a plane.
[0002]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, mobile terminals such as mobile phones and PDAs with built-in cameras have become widespread. This camera has a built-in optical unit that forms an image of a subject on a light receiving sensor in which a plurality of light receiving elements are arranged in a plane, and has a maximum of about 300,000 pixels. 2. Description of the Related Art Cameras are used for photographing a person's face, scenery, and the like as a subject, attaching the image to an e-mail, transmitting the e-mail, and setting a telephone standby screen.
[0003]
Camera-equipped mobile terminals are, for example, those in which a camera is provided on the front side or the back side substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the main body, and the camera is provided in a substantially vertical direction from the front side or the back side. Is to be taken. However, in such a shooting style, for example, it is necessary to shoot while maintaining the longitudinal direction of the mobile phone in the vertical direction. Therefore, there is a problem that it is difficult to adjust the shooting direction to a subject located in front of the user depending on the use situation. Therefore, there is a need for a camera-equipped mobile terminal that is more convenient to use.
[0004]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to be able to shoot in a style in which a substantially vertical direction of the surface is photographed from the front side or the rear side perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the main body. Another object of the present invention is to provide a camera-equipped mobile terminal that is more convenient to use.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the first aspect of the invention, when the second optical unit is moved to the photographing direction switching position, the optical axis is formed in the longitudinal direction of the main body, so that the user can move the longitudinal direction of the main body from below. By directing the tip of the direction to the subject, the shooting direction can be adjusted to the subject, and the shooting direction can be easily adjusted to the subject located above the mobile terminal, that is, in front of the user, and the subject can be shot.
[0006]
When the second optical unit is located at the normal position, for example, it is possible to use a camera to photograph a subject located substantially perpendicular to the surface from the front side or the rear side substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the main body unit as in the related art. it can. As a result, it is possible to shoot even in a style in which a substantially vertical direction of the surface is photographed from the front side or the rear side perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the main body as in the related art. It is possible to easily adjust the shooting direction to a subject located in front, and it is possible to further improve the usability.
[0007]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect, the optical axis of the first optical unit is bent so as to form an optical axis in a direction along the operation instruction surface of the operation unit. The photographing direction is set along the plane direction of the operation instructing surface, so that the user can adjust the photographing direction to the subject by paying particular attention to the direction parallel to the operation instructing surface of the operation unit, and can perform photographing. . This makes it easier to adjust the shooting direction to the subject located in front of the user.
[0008]
According to the third aspect of the present invention, in the first or second aspect of the present invention, the second optical section is located on the opposite surface of the display section with respect to the main body section, so that the display section is located. Even if it is necessary to mount many components on the surface, even if the display unit 3 occupies a large area on the front side, it can be arranged without adversely affecting the component arrangement of the camera-equipped mobile terminal. it can. In addition, the user can operate while confirming the image captured by the camera and displayed on the display unit. In addition, it is possible to confirm whether or not the image of the subject is obtained in a good state.
[0009]
According to the fourth aspect of the present invention, when the second optical section is located at the normal position, its outer surface is substantially flush with the outer surface of the main body section. When not in use, it does not become a hindrance to the user, and the convenience can be improved.
[0010]
In recent years, systems using optical information such as barcodes and two-dimensional codes, such as POS systems in supermarket cash registers, have been widely used. To read optical information with such a system, There is a need for a dedicated optical information reader. Such an optical information reading apparatus has a completely different design concept from the above-described camera-equipped mobile terminal, and requires an imaging distance (total distance) in order to read the above-described fine optical information using the camera of the camera-equipped mobile terminal. It has been confirmed by the inventors that the focal length is long (for example, 60 cm or more) and the resolution is somewhat insufficient. However, since the camera can be used for reading optical information by covering a point at which the shooting distance is long or lacking in resolution, it is possible to provide a portable terminal with a camera with improved versatility.
[0011]
Therefore, according to a fifth aspect of the present invention, in the invention according to any one of the first to fourth aspects, optical information as a subject is transmitted to the first optical unit in a state where the second optical unit is located at the imaging direction switching position. The optical unit is configured to expand in the horizontal axis direction orthogonal to the optical axis and form an image on the light receiving sensor. According to such means, since the second optical unit can shorten the shooting distance and increase the magnification for reading optical information, the camera-equipped mobile terminal is also used for reading optical information. be able to.
[0012]
In this case, the enlargement can be achieved by using a convex lens. However, it is desirable that the second optical unit be provided with a concave mirror having a concave surface as a reflecting surface, as in the invention of claim 6. In this case, the optical information can be magnified and photographed while suppressing the cost as compared with the one using the convex lens.
[0013]
According to the seventh aspect of the present invention, the operation is as follows. That is, when the slide operation unit is operated, the upright unit rises in response to the slide of the slide operation unit, obliquely interrupts the optical axis of the first optical unit when the upright operation is completed, and bends the optical axis by the optical member. Can be Accordingly, switching between the normal position where the second optical unit is located and the imaging direction switching position can be realized with a simple structure.
[0014]
According to the eighth aspect of the present invention, since the positioning mechanism of the second optical unit is positioned and fixed between the normal position and the photographing direction switching position, operability and stability can be further improved.
[0015]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
(1st Embodiment)
Hereinafter, a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. In this embodiment, an embodiment is described in which an object (landscape, person, etc.) located in front of a user is photographed by a straight-type camera-equipped mobile phone as a camera-equipped mobile terminal.
[0016]
The mobile phone 1 with a built-in camera is configured to be portable, and as shown in FIG. 2A, a display section 3 made of a color liquid crystal display and a plurality of display sections 3 are provided on a front section 2a of a main body section 2 having a vertically long shape. An operation unit 4 having the key 4a is provided. The operation unit 4 includes keys such as a dial key, a power / end key, various operation function keys, and a shutter key for a camera. The operation unit 4 is also provided to instruct shooting of the subject H1 (see FIG. 3A). It is what is being done. These keys are embedded and provided in the main body 2 with, for example, an operation surface formed flush with the operation instruction surface 4b.
[0017]
In addition, an antenna 5 for wireless communication is provided at an upper portion (tip portion) of the main body 2. The surfaces of the front portion 2a and the back portion 2b of the main body 2 are substantially parallel, and the user normally operates the mobile phone 1 from below as shown in FIG.
[0018]
In addition, as shown in FIG. 2B, a photographing opening 6 a of the camera 6 is formed on the upper part on the back side of the mobile phone 1 so as to face the back part 2 b of the main body 2. The battery 7 is stored in the lower part on the back side. The photographing opening 6a of the camera is provided on the back side substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the main body 2 (the vertical direction of the mobile phone 1, the horizontal direction in FIG. 3A). Is taken in the vertical direction. Specifically, the camera 6 is provided above the back surface 2b of the main body 2 while being built in the main body 2 as shown in FIG. , And an image forming lens 9 as a first optical unit.
[0019]
The CMOS image sensor 8 is configured by arranging a plurality of light receiving elements in a plane, and has, for example, about tens of thousands to 300,000 pixels. 3A and FIG. 1A, the imaging lens 9 is simply shown as a single convex lens, but is actually composed of a plurality of lenses, and receives light from the outside. The image of the subject H1 is formed on the CMOS image sensor 8. At this time, the optical axis E is set substantially perpendicular to the back surface 2b. In addition, an aperture mechanism, an auto focus mechanism, and the like (not shown) are also provided. At this time, the focal length is set within a range of about 50 cm to 60 cm from the back surface 2b.
[0020]
<About the second optical unit>
As shown in FIG. 3, a movable unit 10 and a reflecting mirror 11 as an optical member are provided as a second optical unit C around the imaging opening 6 a, as shown in FIG. . FIG. 3B shows a rear view of the mobile phone 1. The movable portion 10 is disposed below the photographing opening 6a and slides (slids) in a vertical direction (see FIG. 3A) on the photographing opening 6a side along a guide portion of the back (outer surface) portion 2b of the main body 2. A) a flat slide operation unit 12 configured to be operable, and a flat standing unit 13 having one end 13 a of the slide operation unit 12 located on the photographing port 6 a side connected via a connection shaft 14. , Two pivoting portions which are located on both sides of the photographing opening 6a and which can pivot toward the rear side (outside) of the main body 2 around a base shaft 15 disposed in the main body 2 above the photographing opening 6a. 16 are provided. The slide operation unit 12 is configured to be slidable in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis E formed by the camera 6.
[0021]
Two elastic pieces 12a are formed integrally on the slide operation unit 12 via the hollow portions 12b in a state where the two elastic pieces 12a extend upward from the base end on the lower side. 3 (b) and 3 (c)), an engaging claw 12c functioning as a positioning mechanism is provided integrally at the upper end of the elastic piece portion 12a so as to protrude outward. ing. The engaging claw 12c is fitted in a corresponding position (having a convex hole) on the lower base end side of the engaging hole 2c formed in the main body 2 in a positioning state, and is elastic. The inward movement (elastic deformation) is enabled by the piece 12a. The engaging hole 2c is formed as a guide linearly upward from the convex hole, and a convex hole is formed at the upper end of the engaging hole 2c outward. ing.
[0022]
When the elastic piece portion 12a elastically deforms inward, the slide operation portion 12 can be slid up and down along the guide portion. When the slide operation portion 12 is slid, the engagement claw 12c becomes the engagement hole 2c. Into the hole on the upper or lower end side. The fitting of the engaging claw 12c and the convex hole formed on the lower base end side of the engaging hole 2c allows the slide operation section 12 to be fixed at a normal position and positioned. Further, the slide operation unit 12 is fixed to the imaging direction switching position by the engagement between the engagement claw 12c and the convex hole formed at the upper end of the engagement hole 2c. .
[0023]
The two rotating parts 16 are located on both sides of the photographing opening 6a, and are arranged in the shape of a long rod extending vertically. The other end 13 b of the upright portion 13 on the side of the photographing port 6 a is connected to the turning tip 17 via a connecting shaft 16 a formed integrally with the turning portion 16. The upright portion 13 is provided with a reflecting mirror 11 located on the front side (inside) of the upright portion 13. In addition, although the movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 are formed separately, they may be integrally formed. Thus, the movable section 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 are configured to be located on the opposite surface of the display section 3 with respect to the main body section 2. Thereby, even if it becomes necessary to mount many components on the front surface 2a where the display unit 3 is located, even if the display unit 3 occupies a large area on the front side, it adversely affects the arrangement of other components. The movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 can be provided without exerting any influence.
[0024]
In the non-use state shown in FIG. 3, the movable mirror 10 does not form a part of the optical system on the optical axis E formed by the camera 6 because the reflecting mirror 11 is not moved between the subject H1 and the camera 6. In this case, the movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 are housed in the main body 2 so as not to protrude from the rear part 2b of the main body 2 and to be flush with the rear part 2b of the main body 2 (FIG. a)).
[0025]
A control circuit (not shown) including a CPU for controlling the overall electrical configuration of the mobile phone 1 and a memory storing a control program, and a speaker and a microphone are provided inside the main body 2. It is provided in a built-in manner, and realizes a function of transmitting and receiving e-mail via an external terminal and a communication network, in addition to the original function of the telephone for making a call with the outside. The above-mentioned memory stores various data, and an image area for storing image data captured by the camera 6 is also secured.
[0026]
When the control circuit of the mobile phone 1 is set to the camera photographing mode, the image of the subject H1 photographed by the camera 6 is displayed on the display unit 3 almost in real time. At this time, the user adjusts the shooting direction so that the subject H1 enters the display screen while visually recognizing the screen projected and displayed on the display unit 3. That is, the display unit 3 functions as a finder. When the user presses the shutter key for the camera of the operation unit 4 when the desired screen to be shot is obtained, the control circuit detects the shutter key press and causes the camera 6 to shoot the image. Is stored in the memory, the display on the display unit 3 is stopped, and the photographing state is displayed. In this way, the function as a digital camera is realized. When the control circuit receives an instruction from the user, the control circuit sends the image stored in the memory to an e-mail to be transmitted to the outside or a display unit. 3 is set as the standby screen.
[0027]
The operation of the above configuration will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 4 to 6.
For example, when the user of the mobile phone 1 takes an image of a subject H2 (see FIG. 1) located above the mobile phone 1 (to the left in FIG. 3A) with a camera, the user can use FIG. In the non-use state of the movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 shown in (b), the user operates the slide operation part 12 upward along the guide part on the back side. By this operation, one end 13a of the upright portion 13 slides toward the photographing opening 6a. That is, it slides in a direction substantially perpendicular to the optical axis E. Then, the other end portion 13b of the upright portion 13 rises to the rear side (outside) around the position of the base shaft 15 by the action of the rotating portion 16. At this time, the engagement portion 12c of the slide operation portion 12 is fitted into the convex hole at the upper end along the engagement hole 2c, so that the movable portion 10 is fixed in the positioning state.
[0028]
When the movable part 10 is fixed in the positioning state, the movable part 10 is in the rising end state, and the optical axis E is obliquely blocked by the reflecting mirror 11 disposed inside the standing part 13. This is the state where the camera has moved to the photographing direction switching position. In this case, the optical axis E is bent by the reflecting mirror 11, and the subject H2 located above the main body 2 can be photographed. 4 and 5 show the positioning state when the second optical unit is at the photographing direction switching position by a rear perspective view and a rear view, respectively, and FIG. 1 shows a vertical side surface.
In FIG. 1, when the movable unit 10 and the reflecting unit 11 are fixed in the positioning state at the photographing direction switching position, the reflection angle θ is set to be approximately 90 degrees, the optical axis E is switched, and the reflecting mirror is switched. 11 constitutes a part of the optical system. At this time, the movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 are protruded to the rear side with respect to the rear part 2b of the main body part 2, and the movable part 10 is put into a use state. In this case, as shown in FIG. 1, the optical axis E2 is formed in the longitudinal direction of the main body 2, and the optical axis E2 is formed on a plane substantially parallel to the operation instruction surface 4 b of the operation unit 4. The optical axis is bent so as to be formed, and the photographing direction is switched. Further, as shown in FIG. 1, the optical axis is formed in a direction along the operation instruction surface 4b, so that the shooting direction of the camera 6 is switched to a direction along the surface direction of the operation instruction surface 4b.
[0029]
Then, an image of another subject H2 located above the mobile phone 1 can be formed on the CMOS image sensor 8. FIG. 6 schematically shows the configuration of the optical system at this time.
[0030]
Thus, the subject H2 located above the main body 2 can be photographed. The user can adjust the shooting direction to the subject H2 by turning the longitudinal end of the main body 2 toward the subject H2, and can shoot the subject H2 and the subject H2 from below the main body 2. In particular, the user can adjust the shooting direction to the subject H2 by being aware of the direction parallel to the operation instruction surface 4b, and the shooting direction can be more easily adjusted. The user can adjust the photographing position while visually recognizing the position of the subject H2 while viewing the photographing screen displayed on the display unit 3 located on the front side.
[0031]
According to the first embodiment, when the movable section 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 are moved to the imaging direction switching position, the reflection angle θ of the reflecting mirror 11 is set to be substantially 90 degrees, and the main body section is set. Since the optical axis E2 is formed in the longitudinal direction of the mobile phone 1 (upward direction of the mobile phone 1), the user turns the front end of the main body 2 from below the mobile phone 1 to the subject H2, for example, from the front of the body. Thus, the shooting direction can be adjusted to the subject H2, and the shooting direction can be easily adjusted to the subject H2 located above the mobile phone 1, that is, in front of the user, so that the subject H2 can be shot. When the movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 are located at the normal position, the movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 are set so as not to block the optical axis E, so that the rear side substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the main body 2 Thus, the subject H2 located substantially in the vertical direction of the surface can be photographed. Thus, the subject H2 positioned above the mobile phone 1, that is, in front of the user, can be photographed even in a style of photographing in the vertical direction of the surface from the back side perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the main body 2. It is possible to easily adjust the photographing direction to the camera, and it is possible to improve the usability.
[0032]
The optical axis E of the camera 6 is bent so as to form the optical axis E2 in the direction along the operation instruction surface 4b of the operation unit 4, and the shooting direction of the camera 6 is set to the direction along the surface direction of the operation instruction surface 4b. Therefore, the user can adjust the shooting direction to the subject H2 by paying particular attention to the direction parallel to the operation instruction surface 4b of the operation unit 4, and can shoot. This makes it easier to adjust the shooting direction to the subject H2 located in front of the user.
Since the movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 are located on the rear part 2b opposite to the main body part 2 where the display part 3 is located, many parts are provided on the front part 2a where the display part 3 is located. Even if it is necessary to mount the mobile phone 1, even if the display unit 3 occupies a large area on the front side, it can be provided without adversely affecting the arrangement of other components constituting the mobile phone 1.
[0033]
When the movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 are located at the normal position, the outer surface thereof is substantially flush with the rear part 2b of the main body part. Instead, convenience can be improved.
[0034]
Since the engaging claw 12c positions the movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 between the normal position and the photographing direction switching position, operability and stability can be further improved.
[0035]
Since the reflecting mirror 11 is located on the opposite side (back side) of the display unit 3 with respect to the main body 2 and is disposed on the front side (inside) of the upright part 13, the reflecting mirror 11 is located outside. And protects the reflecting mirror 11.
[0036]
The reflecting mirror 11 is located on the back side opposite to the display unit 3 with respect to the main unit 2, and forms an image of another subject H 2 located above the main unit 2 on the CMOS image sensor 8. The user can adjust the shooting position while viewing the shooting screen displayed on the display unit 3 while visually recognizing the subject H2 located above the main body 2. Since the movable part 10 and the reflecting mirror 11 are provided in the main body 2, the subject H2 located above the main body 2 can be photographed without requiring any additional components.
[0037]
(Second embodiment)
FIGS. 7 and 8 show a second embodiment of the present invention. The difference from the first embodiment is that a concave mirror is applied instead of the reflecting mirror 11 so that an optical image is formed on the light receiving sensor. 1 shows an embodiment of a camera-equipped mobile phone suitable for reading optical information such as a barcode (one-dimensional code) and a two-dimensional code, which constitutes a system. The same parts as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will be omitted. Hereinafter, only different parts will be described.
FIG. 7 schematically shows the configuration of an optical system when a concave mirror is applied instead of a reflecting mirror. The concave mirror 20 is configured to enlarge optical information in the X-axis (horizontal axis) direction and cause the camera 6 to take an image when the movable mirror 10 is in the use state. The optical system is set so as to be orthogonal to the optical axis E formed by the camera 6 as the X axis.
[0038]
In FIG. 8 schematically showing the arrangement at the time of reading in a perspective view, a bar code B is photographed as an object H2 by the camera 6 so as to be enlarged in the X-axis direction. The distance is set to about 20 cm, and the photographing distance is shortened to about a fraction of that in the description of the first embodiment. Therefore, the focal length can be shortened, and the magnification for reading the barcode can be increased, so that the operation and effect described in the first embodiment can be obtained, and the barcode can also be used for reading a barcode. And it is easier for the user to focus on the barcode. That is, since the focal length is long and the resolution is insufficient, it cannot be used for reading the barcode B. However, by adding the concave mirror 20 to the optical system of the camera 6, Since the focal length can be shortened and the magnification for reading a barcode can be increased, it can be used for barcode reading purposes, and a camera-equipped mobile terminal with improved versatility can be provided.
[0039]
Since the concave mirror 20 is applied to a part of the optical system, the cost can be reduced as compared with the case where the convex lens is applied to the optical system.
Further, as shown in FIG. 8, the control circuit of the mobile phone 1 displays the image captured by the camera 6 on the display unit 3, so that the user operates while checking the image displayed on the display unit 3. be able to. In addition, it is possible to confirm whether or not an image of the subject H2 has been obtained in a good state.
[0040]
Although the configuration in which the magnification is performed in the X-axis direction has been described, a concave mirror may be provided so as to also expand in the Y-axis (vertical axis) direction (perpendicular to the optical axis E of the camera 6) perpendicular to the X-axis direction. . In this case, since the magnification can be expanded in the Y-axis direction, the magnification of the two-dimensional code can be increased as well as the bar code, and the optical information such as a two-dimensional code can be read.
[0041]
(Third embodiment)
FIGS. 9 and 10 show a third embodiment of the present invention. The difference from the first embodiment is that a bar code or a two-dimensional code is provided by providing a convex lens in addition to the reflecting mirror 11 as an optical system. And the like, so as to form an image on the light receiving sensor by enlarging the optical information such as. The same parts as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will be omitted. Only different parts will be described below.
[0042]
In FIG. 9 showing a vertical side surface of the reflector 11 in a non-use state, the slide operation unit 25 has substantially the same configuration as the slide operation unit 12 described in the first embodiment. , A convex lens 26 is fixed. When the slide operation unit 25 is operated, the convex lens 26 moves in parallel along the back surface 2b of the main body 2 and moves so as to be located on the back side of the imaging lens 9 of the camera 6 (FIG. 10). At the same time, as in the description of the first embodiment, the upright portion 13 rises to the rear side, and the reflection angle θ of the optical axis is set to 90 degrees when this rising is completed. In this case, the movable section 27 includes the upright section 13, the slide operation section 25, and the convex lens 26, and the movable section 27 and the reflecting mirror 11 constitute an equivalent of the second optical section D. The optical action of the convex lens 26 is substantially the same as the optical action of the concave mirror 20 described in the second embodiment, and thus has substantially the same action and effect as the second embodiment.
[0043]
(Fourth embodiment)
FIGS. 11 and 12 show a fourth embodiment of the present invention, which is different from the first to third embodiments in that the present invention is applied to a foldable mobile phone. The same parts as those in the first to third embodiments are denoted by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will be omitted. Hereinafter, only different parts will be described.
11 and 12 show side views of a foldable mobile phone. In the foldable mobile phone 30 with a built-in camera, a main body portion 33 is constituted by a main body portion 31 and a flipper portion 32, and the main body portion 31 and the flipper portion 32 are rotatably connected around a shaft 34. I have. The mobile phone 30 has a closed state in which the main unit 31 and the flipper unit 32 are folded in two as shown in FIG. 11, and an open state in which the main unit 31 and the flipper unit 32 are extended as shown in FIG. It is configured to be able to. As shown in FIG. 12, the front surface and the back surface of the main body portion 31 and the flipper portion 32 are formed substantially parallel to each other.
[0044]
In this case, in FIG. 12, which schematically shows the use state, when opened, the angle θ1 between the main body portion 31 and the flipper portion 32 is set to be an obtuse angle. In this case, the reflection angle θ2 of the reflection mirror 11 is set to an obtuse angle of approximately (270−θ1) degrees. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 12, the optical axis E2 is formed in the direction along the operation instruction surface 4b, and the optical axis E2 is formed in the longitudinal direction of the main body 33. Although not described in detail in place of the above description, the display unit 3 is disposed on the front side 32a of the flipper unit 32, and the camera 6, the movable unit 10, and the like are formed inside the flipper unit 32 ( (Not shown in FIGS. 11 and 12). Note that a concave mirror 20 may be used instead of the reflecting mirror 11. Even with such a foldable mobile phone, the same functions and effects as those of the first, second, and third embodiments can be obtained.
[0045]
