Abstract
Description
【0001】

【0028】
CPU(Central Processing Unit)11は、各種演算及び処理を行うものであって、中央演算処理装置として機能する。
【0039】
FHSパケットのAM_ADDR(Access Member Address)は、マスタがスレーブを識別するための3ビットのフィールドである。
例えば、本発明を、UPnP(Universal Plug and Play)対応機器などBluetooth(登録商標)対応機器以外に利用してもよい。
【0063】
UPnPの場合、まず、(A)報知機器は、電子機器を検索するため、SSDP(Simple Service Discovery Protocol):discoverパケットをマルチキャストする。

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a notification system that notifies information about an electronic device in a notification device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
For example, there is already a notification system that displays a device name of a device that can communicate with a PDA on a display unit of a PDA (Personal Digital Assistants) and notifies a user of the PDA of a device that can communicate with the PDA. In the following, a device that reports another device is called a reporting device, and a device that is reported by another device is called an electronic device.
[0003]
When the notification device and the electronic device constituting the notification system are Bluetooth (registered trademark) compatible devices, the information of the electronic device is notified by the notification device as follows. First, the notification device searches for an electronic device that can communicate with the notification device in the vicinity of the notification device (inquiry), and a BD (Bluetooth Device) address (corresponding to identification information) of the communicable electronic device and a device class. Acquires class information (corresponding to type information). Subsequently, the notification device obtains the device name (corresponding to notification information) for the electronic device from which the BD address has been obtained. Then, the notification device displays the device name of the electronic device on its own display unit based on the obtained result, thereby notifying the electronic device.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, since Bluetooth (registered trademark) uses a very crowded radio wave band called ISM band (Industrial, Scientific and Medical Band), the notification device can acquire the BD address and device class of the electronic device. In some cases, the name of the electronic device cannot be obtained. In such a case, the notification device displays the BD address of the electronic device instead of displaying the device name of the electronic device, as shown in FIG. 7B. When the BD address is used for notification of the electronic device in this way, since the BD address is composed of numbers and English characters, the user of the notification device is anxious that the notification device may have failed. There was a problem of giving.
[0005]
Therefore, the present invention provides a notification system, a notification device, a program, and a storage capable of performing notification without giving a user anxiety even when a notification device cannot acquire notification information. The purpose is to provide a medium.

[0035]
Hereinafter, the FHS packet will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 5 is a diagram showing the payload configuration of the FHS packet. The FHS packet is a control packet for synchronizing within the piconet, and the payload of the FHS packet is composed of eleven fields as shown in FIG.
[0036]
The parity bits (Parity bits) of the FHS packet are a 34-bit field including the parity for the sync word in the access code set in the FHS packet. The LAP (Lower Address Part) of the FHS packet is a field in which the lower 24 bits of the BD address of the device transmitting the FHS packet are described. Undefined of the FHS packet is a 2-bit field prepared for future expansion, and this field is always set to zero. The SR (Scan Repetition) of the FHS packet is a 2-bit field that specifies a scan window when the slave scans the ID packet sequence from the master in the calling state. The SP (Scan Period) of the FHS packet designates a time during which the slave performs a mandatory page scan (Mandatory Page Scan) after the slave receives an IQ packet from the master and transmits the FHS packet to the master in the calling state. This is a 2-bit field.
[0037]
A UAP (Upper Address Part) of the FHS packet is a field in which the upper 8 bits of the BD address of the device that transmits the FHS packet are described. The NAP (Non-significant Address Part) of the FHS packet is a field in which 16 bits other than the LAP and the UAP are described in the BD address of the device transmitting the FHS packet.
[0038]
The Class of Device of the FHS packet is a 24-bit field indicating the type (class information) of the device that transmits the FHS packet, and is currently defined in three subfields as shown in FIG. . This Class of Device always has a format format ending with 00, and future scalability is considered by separately specifying this part. The Service Class is a part that defines a service category. A Major Device Class following the Service Class indicates a major classification such as Imaging and Phone, and a Minor Device Class indicates a minor classification corresponding to the Major Device Class. For example, if the Major Device Class is Imaging, Printer, Scanner, and Camera are described in Minor Device Class, and if Major Device Class is Phone, then Minor Device Class is described in Cellular and Celluler is described in Cellular. You.
[0039]
AM_ADDR (Access Member Address) of the FHS packet is a 3-bit field for the master to identify the slave. In the call state, the FHS packet transmitted by the master to the slave specifies the slave identifier used by the slave in the piconet. On the other hand, when the slave transmits the FHS packet in response to the IQ packet from the master, zero is set. Is set. CLK of FHS packet 27-2 Is a field in which, when transmitting an FHS packet, the upper 26 bits of a 28-bit Bluetooth (registered trademark) clock included in the device are described. The Page scan mode of the FHS packet is a 3-bit field that specifies a default call scan (Page Scan) mode supported by the device that has transmitted the FHS packet.

As shown in FIG. 6B, the packet transmitted by the electronic device 20 to the notification device 10 (hereinafter, referred to as a device name reply packet) is composed of five pieces: Transaction ID, OpCode, NameOffset, Name length, and Name fragment. Consists of fields. The Transaction ID is a 1-bit field indicating the value of a flag indicating whether communication has been started by a master or a slave. OpCode is a 7-bit field that describes the instruction code. Name Offset is an 8-bit field indicating the number of the fragment. Name length is an 8-bit field indicating the length of the device name of the device that transmitted the FHS packet. Name fragment is a 4- to 17-bit field in which the device name of the device that transmitted the FHS packet is described.

When both the FHS packet and the device name reply packet have been received, that is, when both the BD address and the device name of the electronic device 20 have been obtained, the data is stored in the HDD 14 based on the obtained results. The device name associated with the current BD address is updated. Therefore, the possibility that the device name associated with the BD address stored in the HDD 14 matches the device name of the electronic device 20 that has transmitted the FHS packet increases.
[0060]
In addition, since a highly versatile Bluetooth (registered trademark) technology such as an FHS packet is used, development of a notification system is facilitated.
[0061]
Further, in the case of wireless communication, the possibility of data transmission / reception failure is higher than in the case of wired communication, so that the application of the
[0062]
Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various design changes are possible as long as they are described in the claims. . For example, the present invention may be used for devices other than Bluetooth (registered trademark) such as UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) compatible devices.
[0063]
In the case of UPnP, (A) the notification device first multicasts an SSDP (Simple Service Discovery Protocol): discover packet to search for an electronic device. Then, as a response, the electronic device returns information including its own IP address (corresponding to identification information) to the notification device.
(B) The notification device makes a Device Description transmission request to the electronic device that has responded, and the electronic device returns Device Description as a response. Accordingly, the notification device obtains the device type (corresponding to the type information) and the device name (corresponding to the notification information) of the electronic device from the service type of Device Description and the friendly name, respectively.
(C) When the notification device can acquire the device name of the electronic device in the process (B), the IP address of the electronic device acquired in the process (A) and the IP address of the electronic device can be acquired in the process (B). Information associated with the device name of the electronic device is stored in the HDD included in the notification device. This is to be used when the device name of the electronic device cannot be acquired in the process (B) above in the next and subsequent notification processes.
(D-1) When both the IP address and the device name of the electronic device can be obtained in the processes of (A) and (B), the notification device displays the device name of the electronic device on a display unit included in the notification device. Then, the electronic device is notified.
(D-2) The case where the IP address of the electronic device could be received in the process (A), but the device name of the electronic device could not be obtained in the process (B). When the associated device name is stored in the HDD of the notification device (both the IP address and the device name have been acquired in the previous notification process), the notification device is stored in the HDD on the display unit. The device name associated with the IP address of the present electronic device is displayed to notify the electronic device. In this case, the device name stored in the HDD is the auxiliary information.
(D-3) The case where the IP address of the electronic device could be received in the process of (A), but the device name of the electronic device could not be obtained in the process of (B). When the associated device name is not stored in the HDD of the notification device, the notification device displays, for example, “Unknown Device” on its own display unit instead of displaying the IP address. In this case, “Unknown Device” is the supplementary information.

Further, in the above embodiment, the device name and the device name are displayed on the display unit, but the device name and the corresponding icon are displayed, and the device name and the corresponding icon are displayed. Alternatively, the display contents are not particularly limited to those described above.
[0068]
Further, a program for executing the notification processing described in the above embodiment and the like may be recorded on a computer-readable recording medium such as a CD-ROM. Further, the class information of the device class, the device name, and the like may be reported as information or may be appropriately decorated and reported. For example, in FIG. 7A, “Default2” is displayed as (Printer / FAX / SCAN) based on the class information, but it may be displayed as (MFP) because it is a multifunction peripheral.
