Abstract
Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an internal combustion engine mounted on a vehicle or the like, and particularly to an internal combustion engine provided with a heat storage device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, in a water-cooled internal combustion engine mounted on an automobile or the like, cooling water that has become hot during operation of the internal combustion engine is stored in a heat storage state, and the heat storage hot water is stored in the internal combustion engine when the internal combustion engine is in a cold state. An internal combustion engine provided with a heat storage device for warming up the internal combustion engine by supplying the heat to the internal combustion engine has been developed.
[0003]
As this kind of technology, for example, a "insulation device for cooling water in an automobile or the like" described in JP-A-6-213117 is known. The "insulation device for cooling water in an automobile or the like" described in this publication includes a heat insulation container provided in a cooling water circulation path passing through an engine, a temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of the cooling water inside the heat insulation container, Cooling water temperature display means for displaying the temperature detected by the detection means, and when the temperature displayed by the cooling water temperature display means is higher than a predetermined temperature during operation of the engine, it is determined that the thermostat valve is closed and malfunctions. If the temperature indicated by the cooling water temperature display means is lower than a predetermined temperature during operation of the engine, it is determined that the thermostat valve is open and malfunctions.
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Incidentally, the mode of the temperature of the cooling water differs between the case where the hot water in the heat retaining container is supplied to the internal combustion engine and the case where the hot water in the heat retaining container is not supplied to the internal combustion engine. That is, when the hot water in the heat retaining container is supplied to the internal combustion engine, the temperature of some of the cooling water rises rapidly, whereas when the hot water in the heat retaining container is not supplied to the internal combustion engine, all the cooling water The temperature rises evenly and gently.
[0005]
However, in the above-described conventional technology, the reference value used for determining the failure of the thermostat is fixed at a predetermined temperature regardless of whether or not hot water is supplied from the heat retaining container to the internal combustion engine. For this reason, in the above-described conventional technology, it may not be possible to accurately determine the failure of the thermostat valve.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and has as its object to provide a technique capable of accurately detecting an abnormality of a thermostat valve or the like in an internal combustion engine provided with a heat storage device.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention employs the following means in order to solve the above problems. That is, the internal combustion engine provided with the heat storage device according to the present invention,
A heat medium flow passage through which the heat medium flows via the internal combustion engine;
A heat storage device that stores a part of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage in a heat storage state, and supplies the stored heat medium to the heat medium flow passage at a predetermined time,
Temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage,
Estimating means for estimating the average value of the temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage when a heat medium is supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage,
When the heat medium is not supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage, an abnormality detection process is performed based on the heat medium temperature detected by the temperature detection unit, and the heat medium is transferred from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage. When supplied, abnormality detection means for performing abnormality detection processing based on the heat medium temperature estimated by the estimation means,
It is characterized by having.
[0008]
The present invention relates to an internal combustion engine including a heat storage device that stores a part of a heat medium flowing in an internal combustion engine in a heat storage state and abnormality detection means that detects abnormality using the temperature of the heat medium as a parameter. The greatest feature is that when the heat medium is supplied to the heat medium, the average temperature of the heat medium flowing through the internal combustion engine is estimated, and abnormality detection processing is performed according to the estimated heat medium average temperature.
[0009]
In the internal combustion engine provided with such a heat storage device, the heat storage device supplies the heat medium stored in the heat storage device to the heat medium passage when the internal combustion engine is in a cold state. In this case, the temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage is increased by the heat medium supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage, and the internal combustion engine is warmed.
[0010]
Further, the abnormality detecting means performs abnormality detection processing based on the temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage.
[0011]
Here, when the heat medium is not supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage, the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage receives the heat of the internal combustion engine and heats up evenly. The medium has a substantially uniform temperature. As a result, the heat medium temperature detected by the heat medium temperature detection means has a temperature that is correlated with the average value of the heat medium temperatures in the heat medium flow passage.
[0012]
When the heat medium is not supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage as described above, the heat medium temperature detected by the temperature detection means becomes a temperature correlated with the average value of the heat medium temperature in the heat medium flow passage. Even if the abnormality detection processing is performed based on the temperature of the heat medium detected by the temperature detection means, erroneous detection hardly occurs.
[0013]
On the other hand, when the heat medium is supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage, the temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage becomes uniform because a part of the heat medium temperature rises in the heat medium flow passage. hard. As a result, the heat medium temperature detected by the heat medium temperature detection means tends to be a temperature that has no correlation with the average value of the heat medium temperatures in the heat medium flow passage.
[0014]
When the heat medium is supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage as described above, the temperature of the heat medium detected by the heat medium temperature detecting means has a temperature that has no correlation with the average value of the heat medium temperature in the heat medium flow passage. When the abnormality detection processing is performed based on the temperature of the heat medium detected by the temperature detecting means, erroneous detection may occur.
[0015]
Therefore, the internal combustion engine provided with the heat storage device according to the present invention estimates the average temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage when the heat medium is supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage. Abnormality detection is performed based on the heat medium average temperature.
[0016]
As a result, even when the heat medium is supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage, the abnormality detection processing is performed according to the average temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage. Is prevented.
[0017]
Next, the internal combustion engine provided with the heat storage device according to the present invention may employ the following means in order to solve the above-described problems. That is, the internal combustion engine provided with the heat storage device according to the present invention,
A heat medium flow passage through which the heat medium flows via the internal combustion engine;
A heat storage device that stores a part of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage in a heat storage state, and supplies the stored heat medium to the heat medium flow passage at a predetermined time,
Temperature detection means for detecting the temperature of the heat medium,
Abnormality detection means for detecting an abnormality based on the heat medium temperature detected by the temperature detection means,
Prohibition means for prohibiting detection processing by the abnormality detection means during a predetermined period when a heat medium is supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage;
May be provided.
[0018]
The present invention relates to an internal combustion engine including a heat storage device that stores a part of a heat medium flowing through an internal combustion engine in a heat storage state and abnormality detection means that detects an abnormality based on a temperature of the heat medium. The greatest feature is that when the heat medium is supplied, the execution of the abnormality detection processing by the abnormality detection means is prohibited for a predetermined period.
[0019]
In the internal combustion engine provided with such a heat storage device, the heat storage device supplies the heat medium stored in the heat storage device to the heat medium passage when the internal combustion engine is in a cold state. In this case, the temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage is increased by the heat medium supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage, and the internal combustion engine is warmed.
[0020]
Further, the abnormality detecting means performs an abnormality detecting process based on the heat medium temperature detected by the temperature detecting means.
[0021]
Here, when the heat medium is not supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage, the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage receives the heat of the internal combustion engine and heats up evenly. The medium has a substantially uniform temperature. As a result, the heat medium temperature detected by the heat medium temperature detection means has a temperature that is correlated with the average value of the heat medium temperatures in the heat medium flow passage.
[0022]
On the other hand, when the heat medium is supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage, the temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage rapidly increases, so that the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage is It is difficult to reach a uniform temperature. As a result, the heat medium temperature detected by the heat medium temperature detection means tends to be a temperature that has no correlation with the average value of the heat medium temperatures in the heat medium flow passage.
[0023]
When the heat medium is supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium flow passage as described above, the temperature of the heat medium detected by the temperature detecting means is likely to be a temperature having no correlation with the average temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage. Therefore, if the abnormality detection processing is performed based on the temperature of the heat medium detected by the temperature detection means, erroneous detection may occur.
[0024]
Therefore, the internal combustion engine including the heat storage device according to the present invention includes a prohibition unit that prohibits the execution of the abnormality detection process by the abnormality detection unit for a predetermined period when the heat medium is supplied from the heat storage device to the heat medium passage. I prepared for it.
[0025]
When the abnormality detection processing by the abnormality detecting means is prohibited for a predetermined period, the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage is mixed within the predetermined period, and the temperature of the heat medium in the heat medium flow passage is made uniform. As a result, the heat medium temperature detected by the temperature detecting means after the elapse of the predetermined period becomes a temperature correlated with the average value of the heat medium temperatures in the heat medium flow passage.
[0026]
Therefore, the abnormality detection means performs the abnormality detection processing based on the heat medium temperature detected by the temperature detection means after the lapse of the above-mentioned predetermined period, whereby the correlation with the average value of the heat medium temperature in the heat medium flow passage is obtained. It is possible to execute the abnormality detection processing based on a certain temperature, thereby preventing occurrence of erroneous detection.
[0027]
In the present invention, as a target on which the abnormality detection unit performs the abnormality detection processing, a thermostat valve provided in the heat medium flow passage can be exemplified.
[0028]
In addition, examples of the heat medium in the present invention include cooling water and lubricating oil.
[0029]
