Abstract
Description
【0001】
Pt=Atsinωt (1)
Pr=Arsin(ωt+2βL) (2)
L=n・λ/2+ΔL (3) 但し、0≦ΔL<λ/2、nは0または整数。
【0027】
Pr=Arsin{ωt+2πn+(4π/λ)・ΔL}
=Arsin{ωt+(4π/λ)・ΔL}
=Arsin{ωt+2π(2L/λ−n)} (4)
θ1=2π(2L/λ1−n1) (5)
θ2=2π(2L/λ2−n2) (6)

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a distance measuring method using microwaves, which can measure a distance to an object at a short distance by using a microwave and specify a position of the object, and a device therefor. More specifically, a microwave ranging method for identifying a position of an object by detecting a change in phase of at least two frequencies of a radio wave reflected and returned by an object in a short distance while using a microwave, and Regarding the device.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, as a method of performing distance measurement, an ultrasonic method or a microwave method has been put into practical use.The ultrasonic method is used for relatively short distance measurement, and the microwave is used for long distance measurement. It's being used. In recent years, optical methods other than the above methods have been put to practical use.
[0003]
In these systems, if the distance measurement is to be performed by the ultrasonic method, the propagation medium of the sound wave is air, and the propagation speed of the ultrasonic wave changes due to wind, etc., and the surrounding environment becomes an error factor. There is a problem that it is not suitable for distance measurement.
[0004]
In the microwave system, since the propagation speed of radio waves is high, the conventional pulse radar system that measures the time required for the microwave to reflect and return from the object to determine the distance uses a high-speed pulse to measure a short distance. The measurement of a very short time is required, and the modulation bandwidth (FM bandwidth) also needs to be extremely large in the FM-CW method. In the conventional microwave method, short-distance ranging is performed with high accuracy. It is not possible. The optical system also has a high propagation speed and has the same technical problems as radio waves (microwaves).
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, in order to accurately grasp the position of an object, a radar method using microwaves (radio detection and ranging) is not suitable for measuring the position of an object at a short distance, and other ultrasonic waves. Even in the method, there is a problem that the measurement is easily affected by the surrounding environment and the measurement cannot be performed accurately.
[0006]
On the other hand, in recent years, with the development of robots, it has been required to accurately measure a short distance of 0.3 to 10 m with an accuracy of about several cm, such as detecting an obstacle in front of the robot. Furthermore, it would be very convenient to be able to monitor the elderly, for example, for accidents in bathrooms, etc., and to monitor by microwaves to check for the use of humans, such as in automatic flushing of toilets. Good. That is, sensors (light detectors) using infrared light are used as these sensors, but in a bathroom or the like, light such as infrared light is easily misidentified due to steam or the like. Since the sensor is in front of you, the sensor part is tampered with, or some people have a disagreeable feeling that they are taken with a hidden camera, so it should be mounted on the back of the wall so that it can not be seen by humans Is preferred. In this case, it is conceivable to use a microwave Doppler sensor.However, a microwave Doppler sensor can detect a wide range of detection even if it is far away, and when a person is stationary, the Doppler sensor does not function. It cannot be used for sensors.
[0007]
The present invention has been made in view of such a situation, and provides a microwave ranging method and a device capable of accurately measuring the distance of a short-distance object using a microwave. With the goal.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The ranging method using a microwave according to the present invention is a ranging method that specifies a position of an object by transmitting a microwave and detecting a reflected wave reflected by the object. Using a transmission signal of a frequency, the at least two frequencies indicate the distance to the object by L = n · λ / 2 + ΔL (where λ is the wavelength of the transmission wave, n is 0 or a positive integer, and 0 ≦ ΔL < [lambda] / 2), n is set to be equal or different from each other, and the distance to the object is measured by detecting the phase of each reflected wave at the at least two frequencies.
[0009]
According to the present invention, unlike the conventional radar system in which the distance is calculated by detecting the time by the reflected wave reflected by the object and returning by using the microwave, the phase of the reflected wave is detected. Since the distance is calculated, there is no need to form a high-speed pulse or measure a very short time (very short time) even when measuring a very short distance such as 0.3 to 10 m. Therefore, signal processing is simple and accurate measurement can be performed. In this case, it is impossible to measure the phase of only one reflected wave because the phase is reset at a distance of 1/2 wavelength, but the number of integral multiples of 1/2 wavelength up to the measurement distance is the same or different. By detecting the respective phases using signals of at least two frequencies having the above relationship, the distance can be calculated from the phases of the two and the wavelength of the microwave.
[0010]
By using the electronically tunable oscillator to transmit the transmission signals of the at least two frequencies and transmitting the signals alternately by one oscillator, it is possible to detect the phase up to the object at two or more frequencies. With a simple circuit configuration similar to that described above, it is possible to measure an accurate position at a short distance.
[0011]
An intermediate frequency signal is generated by mixing the reflected waves of the at least two frequencies with the signal of the local oscillator, and the frequency of the intermediate frequency signal is also adjusted to the oscillation frequency of the reference oscillator to detect the phase of the reflected wave. If it is performed, the phase of two or more frequencies can be accurately measured while using one reference oscillator.
[0012]
Generating respective first intermediate frequency signals by mixing the reflected waves of the at least two frequencies with the signals of the local oscillator, respectively, and transmitting a part of the microwaves of the at least two frequencies and the signal of the local oscillator; To generate respective second intermediate frequency signals by mixing the first intermediate frequency signal with the second intermediate frequency signal, thereby detecting the phase of each reflected wave. it can. In this case, since the signal having the phase information and the signal having no phase information can be compared at the same frequency, the phase of the received signal can be accurately detected without forming the PLL circuit using the reference oscillator. it can.
[0013]
A microwave ranging device according to the present invention includes a microwave oscillator capable of electronic tuning and oscillating at at least two frequencies, a transmission antenna transmitting an output of the microwave oscillator, and a transmission signal transmitted by the transmission antenna. A receiving antenna for receiving a radio wave reflected by an object, an electronically tunable local oscillator for generating an intermediate frequency signal, and a mixer for mixing the signal of the local oscillator with the received signal received by the receiving antenna And a phase detector for detecting the phase of the intermediate frequency signal output from the mixer.
[0014]
A reference oscillator and a phase comparator for comparing the phase of the signal of the reference oscillator and the output of the mixer are provided, and the frequency of the intermediate frequency signal at the output of the mixer becomes the same as the frequency of the reference oscillator. A PLL circuit that feedbacks the output of the phase comparator to the local oscillator is formed, and the phase of the intermediate frequency signal is detected by the phase detector with reference to the phase of the reference oscillator. The phases of the two received signals can be accurately measured.
[0015]
Here, the reference oscillator means an oscillator, such as a crystal oscillator, which oscillates at a constant frequency with almost no change over time.
[0016]
A first power divider for distributing a part of the output of the microwave oscillator, wherein the mixer and the intermediate frequency signal are a first mixer and a first intermediate frequency signal, respectively, and a part of an output of the local oscillator; And a second mixer that mixes a part of the output of the microwave oscillator and a part of the output of the local oscillator, and further adjusts the phase of the intermediate frequency signal. If the phase detector detects the phase of the second intermediate frequency signal output from the second mixer, the phase of the received signal can be reduced without providing a reference oscillator and configuring a PLL circuit. The phase can be accurately detected.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Next, a description will be given of a distance measuring method using a microwave and an apparatus therefor according to the present invention with reference to the drawings. As shown in a block diagram in FIG. 1 of a configuration example of one embodiment of the microwave distance measuring apparatus according to the present invention, the output of a microwave oscillator 1 (VCO1) capable of electronic tuning and oscillating at at least two frequencies. Is transmitted by the transmission antenna 3, the transmission signal transmitted by the transmission antenna 3 is reflected by the object 15, the radio wave is received by the reception antenna 4, and the signal from the local oscillator 5 (VCO 2) capable of electronic tuning is combined with the first signal. The mixer 7 (MIX1) generates a first intermediate frequency signal IF1, and the phase of the first intermediate frequency signal IF1 is detected by a phase detector 8 (PC1).

The signal received by the receiving antenna 4 is mixed with the signal of the local oscillator 5 by the first mixer 7 to generate a first intermediate frequency signal IF1. The signal processing for detecting the phase of the frequency signal IF1 is the same as the conventional phase detection processing, but in the example shown in FIG. 1, the oscillation frequency of the

The transmit power P t transmitted and received by the receiving antenna 3 and 4. The received power and P r, is expressed as following, respectively.
P t = A t sin ωt (1)
P r = A r sin (ωt + 2βL) (2)
Here, A t represents the transmission voltage amplitude, A r is the received voltage amplitude, β = 2π / λ, λ is the wavelength of the microwave signal, L is the distance between the transmitting and receiving antennas 3, 4 and the object 15, respectively. This L is expressed by equation (3) when expressed using the wavelength of the microwave.
L = n · λ / 2 + ΔL (3) where 0 ≦ ΔL <λ / 2, and n is 0 or an integer.
[0027]
Equations (2) and (3) are rearranged into equation (4).
P r = A r sin {ωt + 2πn + (4π / λ) · ΔL}
= A r sin {ωt + (4π / λ) · ΔL}
= A r sin {ωt + 2π (2L / λ−n)} (4)
If ω in equation (4) is two frequencies, that is, the wavelengths corresponding to ω 1 and ω 2 are λ 1 and λ 2, and only the phase amount in equation (4) is θ 1 and θ 2 ,
θ 1 = 2π (2L / λ 1 −n 1 ) (5)
θ 2 = 2π (2L / λ 2 −n 2 ) (6)
In the equations (5) and (6), θ 1 and θ 2 are measurable quantities, λ 1 and λ 2 are known quantities, but n 1 and n 2 are uncertain quantities, and L is a quantity to be measured. Because of this, the unknown is 3 in the two equations, and L cannot be obtained.
[0028]
However, because we are currently interested in short-range radar, we can impose constraints on n 1 and n 2 , so that the two signals are such that n 1 = n 2 or n 1 = n 2 +1. Oscillation frequency can be set. By doing so, L can be determined from equations (5) and (6). Note that setting the oscillation frequencies of the two signals so that n 1 = n 2 or n 1 = n 2 +1 is obtained by making the two oscillation frequencies close to each other. For example, when the two oscillation frequencies are 10.525 GHz (λ 1 = 2.85 cm) and 10.515 GHz (λ 2 = 2.853 cm), the distances L 1 = 0.3 m and L 2 = 3 m to the object , L 3 = 10 m, and n 1 , n 2 and ΔL are calculated as shown in Table 1. The relationship between n 1 and n 2 can be satisfied at any distance. When a short distance is measured exclusively, it goes without saying that the frequency difference can be further increased. In Table 1, the suffix means a suffix such as λ, n, ΔL (for example, 1 of λ1).
[0029]
[Table 1]
[0030]
In this case, if θ 1 > θ 2 , that is, ΔL 1 > ΔL 2 , then n 1 = n 2 , and if θ 1 <θ 2 , that is, ΔL 1 <ΔL 2 , then n 1 = n 2 +1. Become. Therefore, by detecting the phases θ 1 and θ 2 of the respective reflected waves at such two oscillation frequencies, it is possible to obtain L and n 1 (n 2 ) from equations (5) and (6). it can. That is, the configuration shown in FIG. 1 is used to measure θ 1 and θ 2 using the two frequencies λ 1 and λ 2 , and then to perform arithmetic processing in the signal processing circuit. It is possible to detect a short distance L between 3, 4 and the object.
[0031]
As is clear from the above description, the distance measurement method using the microwave according to the present invention transmits the microwave and detects the reflected wave reflected by the object 15 to specify the position of the object. The transmission signals of at least two frequencies are used, and the two frequencies are set so that the distance to the object 15 is equal to or different from the integral multiple of a half wavelength by one, and The distance to the target is measured by detecting the phase of each reflected wave.
[0032]
In the above example, the case where there are two frequencies has been described. However, by performing at three or more frequencies, the averaging of two or more detected phases can be measured, and the phase can be more accurately detected. , Reliability can be improved.

In the example shown in FIG. 1 described above, the signal oscillated by the

[0037]
As described above, according to the present invention, when measuring a short distance position, an integer multiple of λ (wavelength) / 2 is equal to or different from the distance from the transmitting / receiving antenna to the object by one. Oscillation is performed at two or more frequencies, and the phase of each reflected wave is detected. Therefore, the distance L to the object can be measured from the oscillation wavelength (λ) and the detected phase. As a result, it is not necessary to detect a very short reflection time for a short distance, and it is possible to measure very accurately by a microwave even at a short distance.
[0038]
【The invention's effect】
ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, the distance to the target object can be measured accurately using a microwave even at a very short distance of about 30 cm to 10 m. As a result, it is very effective as a sensor for a robot, and can accurately measure the distance even in places such as a bathroom where the steam is easily affected or where the wind is easily affected by ultrasonic measurement. At the same time, a sensor for automatic cleaning of a toilet can be installed behind a wall to detect the presence or absence of use of a person without being touched by human eyes.
