Description: BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a plasma display device. 2. Description of the Related Art In a plasma display device, if the same still image is displayed for a long time, pixels in a display portion are deteriorated and burn-in occurs. Therefore, a method has been already developed in which the brightness is automatically reduced or the power is automatically turned off when the state in which the same still image is displayed continues for a predetermined time or more. Conventionally, however, it is determined whether the entire screen is a still image or a moving image, and it is determined that the moving image is a moving image if only a part of the screen is moving. However, there is a problem that burn-in occurs in the stationary part. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to provide a plasma display device which can prevent burn-in from occurring in a stationary portion even if the screen includes a moving portion. I do. In the plasma display device according to the present invention, one screen is divided into a plurality of blocks, a motion amount detecting means for detecting a motion amount for each block, and each block. It is characterized by comprising a luminance correcting means for lowering the luminance of a video signal for a block having a small amount of motion based on the amount of motion detected for each. Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a configuration of a plasma display device. The input video signal is converted into a digital video signal by the A / D conversion circuit 1. In this example, the digital video signal is 8 bits, "0" represents black, and "2"
55 "represents white. The digital video signal obtained by the A / D conversion circuit 1 is sent to the video adjustment circuit 2 and also to the motion detection circuit 3. In the video adjustment circuit 2, The video signal output from the video adjustment circuit 2 is sent to the scale conversion circuit 4 and converted into a screen size corresponding to the number of pixels of the PDP panel 5, and then the PDP panel is adjusted. The motion detection circuit 3 detects a video motion amount V Block for each of a plurality of areas (motion detection blocks) set within one screen and sends the video motion amount V Block to the video adjustment circuit 2. Each of the motion detection blocks is a block B 11 to B NM formed by dividing one screen into N in the vertical direction and M in the horizontal direction, as shown in FIG. The image adjustment circuit 2 Based on the relationship between the motion amount and the luminance control coefficient K as shown in Fig. 3, a luminance control coefficient K corresponding to the motion amount V Block is calculated for each block and multiplied by the video signal. The use coefficient K takes a standard value 1 when the motion amount is large, as shown in FIG.
It gradually decreases as the amount of movement decreases. Therefore, in a block having a small amount of motion V Block , the luminance of the video signal is reduced. As described above, since the luminance is reduced in the area where the amount of motion is small, even if the screen includes a moving part, the occurrence of burn-in in a stationary part is prevented. In the above embodiment, the amount of motion is detected in units of one block. However, the amount of motion may be detected in units of one pixel. According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent burn-in from occurring in a stationary portion even if the screen includes a moving portion.
