In a display device such as D) or a liquid crystal display device (LCD), reflectance is reduced by light scattering by surface protrusions and thin film interference in order to prevent deterioration of contrast and reflection of an image due to reflection of external light. It has a function to do, and is arranged on the outermost surface of the display.

In recent years, in particular, along with wide viewing angle and high speed response of liquid crystal displays, there is a great demand for high definition, that is, high image quality. This high definition is realized by miniaturizing the liquid crystal cell size, but as the cell size becomes smaller, the surface protrusions of the antiglare antireflection film become minute lenses, and the so-called "lens effect" causes antiglare properties. There is a problem in that the light that passes through the antireflection film and reaches the eyes of the user has a variation in brightness, that is, a problem of "glare" occurs and the display quality is deteriorated.

In the antiglare hard coat layer of the present invention, light is incident from the transparent support side, and a direction inclined by 5 ° in the transmitted light with respect to the amount of straight light (I 0 °) in the transmitted light. The ratio I 5 ° / I 0 ° of the amount of light (I 5 °) scattered by
% Or more, and more preferably 4.0% or more. The upper limit is preferably 10% or less, more preferably 6% or less. If it exceeds 10%, the glare is good, but the front luminance is lowered and the displayed image is dark, which is not preferable. On the other hand, light is incident from the transparent support side,
The amount of light scattered in a direction inclined by 20 ° (I 20 ) in the transmitted light with respect to the amount of straight light (I 0 °) in the transmitted light
The ratio I 20 ° / I 0 ° is preferably 0.15% or less, more preferably 0.10% or less, still more preferably 0.08% or less, and particularly preferably 0.06%.
% Or less. If I 5 ° / I 0 ° is less than 3.5%, the improvement of glare becomes insufficient, and I 20 ° / I 0 ° becomes 0.
If it exceeds 15%, image blurring becomes a problem. These physical property values are the surface shape of the antiglare antireflection film,
The internal scattering property is related, and the former is determined by the thickness of the antiglare layer, the particle size of the light-transmitting fine particles (particularly particles for imparting antiglare property), the amount used, the solvent composition of the coating solution, the coating / drying conditions, The latter is determined by controlling the particle size of the transparent fine particles (internal scattering property imparting particles), the amount used, and the refractive index ratio between the antiglare layer and the transparent fine particles. A description of each control factor will be given below.

Instead of or in addition to the monomer having two or more ethylenically unsaturated groups, a monomer having a crosslinkable functional group is used to introduce a crosslinkable functional group into the polymer, and the crosslinkable functional group The crosslinked structure may be introduced into the binder polymer by the reaction. Examples of the crosslinkable functional group include an isocyanate group, an epoxy group, an aziridine group, an oxazoline group, an aldehyde group, a carbonyl group, a hydrazine group, a carboxyl group, a methylol group and an active methylene group. Vinyl sulfonic acid, acid anhydride, cyanoacrylate derivative, melamine, etherified methylol, ester and urethane, and metal alkoxide such as tetramethoxysilane can also be used as a monomer for introducing a crosslinked structure. You may use the functional group which shows crosslinkability as a result of a decomposition reaction like a block isocyanate group. That is, in the present invention, the crosslinkable functional group may be one that does not immediately show a reaction but shows reactivity as a result of decomposition. The binder polymer having these crosslinkable functional groups can form a crosslinked structure by heating after coating.

In order to adjust the refractive index of the antiglare layer, the antiglare hard coat layer is made of silicon, titanium, zirconium, aluminum, indium, zinc, tin or antimony in addition to the above-mentioned light-transmitting particles. It is composed of an oxide of at least one metal selected from among them, and has an average particle size of 0.2 μm.
Or less, preferably 0.1 μm or less, more preferably 0.
It is preferable that an inorganic filler having a size of 06 μm or less is contained. The shape of the inorganic filler is not particularly limited, and for example, spherical, plate-shaped, fibrous, rod-shaped, amorphous, hollow, etc. are preferably used, but spherical is more preferable because of better dispersibility. This inorganic filler can contribute to prevention of curling and improvement of surface hardness depending on the filling amount. When the antiglare layer contains an inorganic filler, the refractive index of the antiglare layer is determined by the respective refractive indexes of the transparent resin and the inorganic filler constituting the antiglare layer, and their mixing ratio. The refractive index difference between the refractive index of the antiglare layer and the internal scattering particles of the translucent particles is 0.05 to
0.15 is preferable. If it is less than 0.05, the internal scattering property is low, a large volume of internal scattering particles must be contained, and there is a concern that the film strength of the antiglare antireflection film may decrease, which is not preferable. On the other hand, when it exceeds 0.15, the scattering angle of scattered light becomes large, and it is difficult to satisfy the requirements described in the present invention, which is not preferable. Most preferably, the refractive index difference is 0.07 to 0.13.
The magnitude of the refractive index of the antiglare layer hard coat layer and the translucent particles is
There is no particular limitation, but in order to further reduce character blurring, it is preferable to lower the refractive index of the stringing layer hard coat layer within the range of the refractive index difference described above, and the antiglare antireflection film. As the above, in order to further reduce the reflectance, it is preferable to increase the refractive index of the antiglare layer hard coat layer,
It is appropriately selected according to the design concept.

The antiglare hard coat layer of the present invention contains a fluorine-based or silicone-based surfactant, in order to secure surface uniformity such as coating unevenness, drying unevenness and point defects.
Alternatively, both can be contained in the coating composition for forming the antiglare layer. In particular, a fluorine-based surfactant is preferably used because it has an effect of improving surface failures such as coating unevenness, drying unevenness, point defects and the like of the antiglare antireflection film of the present invention with a smaller addition amount. Preferable examples of the fluorine-based surfactant include perfluoroalkylsulfonic acid amide group-containing nonion such as Florade FC-431 manufactured by 3M, Megafac F-171, F-172, and F- manufactured by Dainippon Ink and Chemicals. 173, F-17
Examples include perfluoroalkyl group-containing oligomers such as 6PF. Examples of the silicone-based surfactants include polydimethylsiloxane whose side chains and main chain terminals are modified with various substituents such as oligomers such as ethylene glycol and propylene glycol.

However, by using the above-mentioned surfactant, the functional group containing an F atom and / or the functional group having a Si atom is segregated on the surface of the antiglare layer, so that the antiglare layer is formed. There is a possibility that the surface energy decreases and the antireflection performance deteriorates when the low refractive index layer is overcoated on the antiglare layer. It is presumed that this is because the wettability of the coating composition used for forming the low-refractive index layer deteriorates, and thus the minute unevenness of the film thickness of the low-refractive index layer that cannot be visually detected deteriorates. In order to solve such a problem, the surface energy of the antiglare layer is preferably 25 mN · m by adjusting the structure and addition amount of a fluorine-based and / or silicone-based surfactant.
To -1 ~70mN · m -1, more preferably 35 mN · m -1
˜70 mN · m −1 is effective, and as will be described later, the coating solvent for the low refractive index layer is 50 to 100
It was found in the study that it is effective to have a boiling point of 100% by weight or less. Also,
In order to realize the above surface energy, X

It is also known that / C needs to be 0.30 or less.

The film thickness of the antiglare hard coat layer of the present invention is 1
It is preferably from 10 to 10 μm, more preferably from 2 to 7 μm, still more preferably from 3 to 5 μm. If the film thickness is too thin, the surface hardness of the antiglare antireflection film is lowered, and it becomes impossible to contain the light-transmitting particles in the preferable range. On the other hand, if the film thickness is too thick, the coating solution is This is because the ratio of the binder component is increased, which causes a problem such as poor coatability due to an increase in liquid viscosity. The thickness of the antiglare hard coat layer is examined by a cross-section TEM (transmission electron microscope). The definition of the thickness of the antiglare hard coat layer is as follows: from the most antiglare hardcoat layer side part of the lower layer component of the antiglare hard coat layer (or the support component when there is no lower layer). The thinnest portion of the layer where there are no light-transmitting fine particles is taken as a reference and the vertical distance therebetween is taken.

The surface projection shape of the anti-stringing antireflection film of the present invention has a material type, a particle size, an addition amount, and further a resin, or a resin and an inorganic material of the transparent fine particles which impart antiglare property and internal scattering property. The thickness of the antiglare layer composed of a composite of fillers, the solvent composition of the coating solution, the amount of wet coating, the drying conditions, the curing conditions for the ionizing radiation curable resin, and the like can be mentioned as control factors, among which the influence of large. As a result of our investigation, even if the anti-glare anti-reflection film gives the same anti-glare property, the shape of each surface projection is different for expressing the total anti-glare property,
It was found that when the display power was turned off or when the liquid crystal was displayed in black, the appearance of black in appearance (conversely, whiteness) was different due to the difference in the surface scattering property. If the protrusion inclination angle of the surface protrusions is large, the surface scattering property in a wide-angle range becomes strong, so that the tightness of black is impaired, it becomes whitish, and the sense of quality is lost. It is clarified that the black tightness has a good correlation with the angle of 95% frequency from the smaller angle side of the projection inclination angle distribution, and is preferably 20 ° or less, more preferably 15 ° or less, and further preferably 13 ° or less. is there. The average surface projection inclination angle, which correlates well with the antiglare property, is more preferably 1 to 5 °, more preferably 1.5 to 4.5 °, and further preferably 2 to 4 °.

The solvent composition of the coating liquid used for forming the low refractive index layer according to the present invention may be either a single solvent or a mixed solvent. When mixed, a solvent having a boiling point of 100 ° C. or less is 50 to 100%. Is more preferable, 80 to 100% is more preferable, and 90 to 100% is more preferable. When the solvent having a boiling point of 100 ° C. or less is 50% or less, the drying rate becomes very slow, the coated surface state deteriorates, and the coating film thickness becomes uneven, so that the optical characteristics such as reflectance also deteriorate. In the present invention, this problem is solved by using a coating solution containing a large amount of a solvent having a boiling point of 100 ° C. or less.

Dichloromethane is a typical solvent for dissolving triacetyl cellulose as described above. However, from the viewpoint of the global environment and working environment, it is preferable that the solvent does not substantially contain halogenated hydrocarbon such as dichloromethane. "Substantially free" means that the proportion of halogenated hydrocarbon in the organic solvent is less than 5% by mass (preferably less than 2% by mass). When a dope of triacetyl cellulose is prepared using a solvent that does not substantially contain dichloromethane or the like, a special dissolution method as described below is essential.

It is preferable to add triacetyl cellulose to a mixed solvent containing various solvents and swell it in advance. In this method, the dissolution concentration of triacetyl cellulose is preferably 30% by mass or less, but from the viewpoint of drying efficiency during film formation,
It is preferable that the concentration is as high as possible. Next, the organic solvent mixed liquid is 70 to 2 under a pressure of 0.2 MPa to 30 MPa.
It is heated to 40 ° C (preferably 80 to 220 ° C, more preferably 100 to 200 ° C, most preferably 100 to 1).
90 ° C). Next, since these heated solutions cannot be applied as they are, it is necessary to cool them below the lowest boiling point of the solvent used. In that case, it is common to cool to −10 to 50 ° C. and return to normal pressure. For cooling, a high-pressure high-temperature container or line containing a triacetylcellulose solution may be left alone at room temperature, and more preferably, the apparatus may be cooled using a coolant such as cooling water. The cellulose acetate film substantially free of halogenated hydrocarbons such as dichloromethane and the method for producing the same are disclosed in JIII Journal of Technical Disclosure (Kokai No. 2001-1745, 2).

When the antiglare antireflection film of the present invention is used in a liquid crystal display device, it is arranged on the outermost surface of the display by providing an adhesive layer on one surface. When the transparent support is triacetyl cellulose, triacetyl cellulose is used as a protective film for protecting the polarizing layer of the polarizing plate. Therefore, it is cost effective to use the antiglare antireflection film of the present invention as a protective film as it is. Then it is preferable.

The polarizing plate with the antiglare and antireflection film of the present invention can be obtained by forming an outermost layer mainly comprising a fluoropolymer on a transparent support and then subjecting it to saponification treatment. The saponification treatment is carried out by a known method, for example, by immersing the film in an alkaline solution for an appropriate time. After the immersion in the alkaline solution, it is preferable that the film is sufficiently washed with water or immersed in a dilute acid to neutralize the alkaline component so that the alkaline component does not remain in the film.
By the saponification treatment, the surface of the transparent support opposite to the side having the outermost layer is made hydrophilic. The hydrophilized surface is particularly effective in improving the adhesion to the polarizing film containing polyvinyl alcohol as a main component. Also, since the dust in the air does not easily adhere to the hydrophilic surface, it is difficult for dust to enter between the deflecting film and the antiglare antireflection film when it is adhered to the deflecting film, thus preventing point defects due to the dust. It is effective to do. The saponification treatment is preferably carried out so that the contact angle of water on the surface of the transparent support on the side opposite to the side having the outermost layer is 40 ° or less. It is more preferably 30 ° or less, and particularly preferably 20 ° or less.

The polarizing plate with the antiglare antireflection film of the present invention comprises the above antiglare antireflection film as at least one of the two protective films of the polarizing layer. By using the antiglare antireflection film of the present invention on the outermost surface, it is possible to obtain a polarizing plate that is prevented from reflecting external light, has high definition suitability, and has excellent antifouling property, scratch resistance and the like. You can Further, in the polarizing plate of the present invention, the antiglare antireflection film also serves as a protective film, whereby the manufacturing cost can be reduced.

When the antiglare antireflection film of the present invention is used as one side of the surface protective film of the polarizing film, the surface of the transparent support opposite to the surface on which the antireflection layer is formed is saponified with alkali. It is necessary to do so as described above. Specific means for the alkali saponification treatment can be selected from the following two.
(1) After forming the antireflection layer on the transparent support, the back surface of the film is saponified by immersing the film in an alkaline solution at least once. (2) Before or after forming the antireflection layer on the transparent support, an alkaline solution is applied to the surface of the antiglare antireflection film opposite to the surface on which the antiglare antireflection film is formed and heated. Only the back surface of the film is subjected to saponification treatment by washing with water and / or neutralization. (1) is excellent in that it can be processed in the same step as a general-purpose triacetyl cellulose film, but since the antiglare antireflection film surface is saponified, the surface is alkali-hydrolyzed and the film deteriorates. There is a concern that there is a concern that if the dried solid matter of the saponification treatment liquid component remains, it will become dirty. In that case, although it is a special process, (2) is excellent.

The antiglare antireflection film of the present invention can be formed by the following method, but is not limited to this method. First, a coating liquid containing components for forming each layer is prepared. Next, the coating solution for forming the antiglare hard coat layer is subjected to reverse gravure method (classified into gravure coat method, micro gravure coat method, etc.), dip coat method, air knife coat method, curtain coat method, A roller coating method, a wire bar coating method and an extrusion coating method (see US Pat. No. 2,681,294) are applied on a transparent support, followed by heating and drying. The microgravure coating method is particularly preferable. Then, it is irradiated with light or heated to polymerize and cure the monomer for forming the antiglare hard coat layer. Thereby, an antiglare hard coat layer is formed. Here, if necessary, a smooth hard coat layer may be applied and cured by the same method before applying the antiglare hard coat layer.
Next, in the same manner, a coating solution for forming the low refractive index layer is applied on the antiglare hard coat layer, and light irradiation or heating is performed to form the low refractive index layer. In this way, the antiglare antireflection film of the present invention is obtained.

The microgravure coating method used for coating each layer of the antiglare antireflection film of the present invention is a gravure roll having a diameter of about 20 to 50 mm and engraved with a gravure pattern on the entire circumference of the support. Rotate the gravure roll in the reverse direction with respect to the conveying direction of the support downward, and scrape off the excess coating liquid from the surface of the gravure roll with a doctor blade, so that a fixed amount of the coating liquid is free on the upper surface of the support. The coating method is characterized in that the coating liquid is transferred and applied to the lower surface of the support at a position in the state.

Next, Example samples 1 to 20 and Comparative example sample 1
The saponified film of No. 20 was laminated with a polarizing plate to prepare a polarizing plate with antiglare and antireflection, and using this polarizing plate, a display device having an antiglare and antireflection layer on the outermost surface was prepared. However, since the samples of Examples 1 to 20 have no contrast of external light, excellent contrast can be obtained, and even a high-definition high-definition liquid crystal display with a small pixel size has no glare and no character blurring. The display device has excellent visibility. On the other hand, among Comparative Samples 1 to 20, unless I 5 ° / I 0 ° is 3.5% or more, glare becomes a problem, and I 20 ° / I 0 ° is 0.1%.
When it exceeds, the display becomes inferior in visibility because it causes a problem of blurred characters. As can be seen from Table 1, I 5 ° / I 0 ° is preferably 3.5% or more, more preferably 4% or more, while the upper limit is 10% or less in order not to reduce the front brightness. , And more preferably 6% or less. Further, I 20 ° / I 0 ° is preferably 0.15% or less, more preferably 0.10% or less,
It is more preferably 0.08% or less, and particularly preferably 0.06% or less. Further, when the difference between the refractive index of the antiglare hard coat layer and the refractive index of the antiglare particles and the internal scattering particles is more than 0.15, when the same effect of improving the glare is obtained, the characters are blurred. Is worse, which is not preferable (in comparison with Example sample 1, Example sample 1
9, Example sample 8 against Example sample 8).

[Example Sample 1A] A PVA film was immersed in an aqueous solution of 2.0 g / l of iodine and 4.0 g / l of potassium iodide for 240 seconds at 25 ° C., and further 10 g / l of boric acid.
After being immersed in the above aqueous solution for 60 seconds at 25 ° C., it is introduced into a tenter stretching machine of the form of FIG. 3 and stretched 5.3 times, and the tenter is bent as shown in FIG. I kept it. After being dried in an atmosphere of 80 ° C., it was separated from the tenter. The difference in transport speed between the left and right tenter clips is 0.05
%, And the angle formed by the center line of the film introduced and the center line of the film sent to the next step was 46 °. Here, | L1-L2 | was 0.7 m, W was 0.7 m, and there was a relationship of | L1-L2 | = W. The substantial stretching direction Ax-Cx at the exit of the tenter was inclined by 45 ° with respect to the center line 22 of the film sent to the next step. Wrinkles and film deformation at the tenter exit were not observed. Furthermore, PVA (PVA-117 manufactured by Kuraray Co., Ltd.)

Fujitac (cellulose triacetate, retardation value 3.0 nm) saponified with 3% aqueous solution and dried at 80 ° C. to obtain a polarizing plate with an effective width of 650 mm. It was The absorption axis direction of the obtained polarizing plate was 4 with respect to the longitudinal direction.
It was tilted 5 degrees. The transmittance of this polarizing plate at 550 nm was 43.7%, and the polarization degree was 99.97%. Further, when it was cut into a size of 310 × 233 mm as shown in FIG. 4, a polarizing plate having an absorption axis inclined by 45 ° with respect to the side was obtained with an area efficiency of 91.5%. Next, the saponified film of Example Sample 1 was attached to the above polarizing plate to prepare a polarizing plate with antiglare and antireflection. A display device having an antiglare and antireflection layer disposed on the outermost surface was manufactured using this polarizing plate.
