The method of claim 10, wherein the reference information includes at least one of current date or time information, an actual channel number of the selected channel, and a signal type of the broadcast signal. 12. The structure of the database includes: (a) selecting a channel on an initial channel; (b) receiving a broadcast signal through the selected channel and separating a video signal and a channel information set from the broadcast signal; (C) processing the video signal and storing the information set in a first memory; (d) displaying the video signal on a display device and initiating measurement of a display time corresponding to the selected channel; e) determining whether the display time is greater than a set time if a channel change command is received from the user; and (f) if the display time is greater than the set time, the information set is Determining whether to represent current information for a tuned channel; and (g) determining that the information set is current information. If so, storing the channel information set stored in the first memory in the memory; (h) selecting the next channel indicated in accordance with the received channel change command; and (i) selecting the next channel. The method of claim 1, comprising repeating steps (b) through (h) for the channel. 13. The method of claim 12, wherein if the information sets match, the information set is determined to be current information. 14. A digital television system, comprising: a memory; and a control unit coupled to the memory to configure a database including a set of a plurality of channel information for channels sequentially selected by a user in the memory. A display unit coupled to the control unit for displaying the channel history map based on the database using a user-selectable device when a request is made by the user to display a channel history map; A digital television system comprising: 15. The digital television system according to claim 14, wherein the plurality of channel information sets are configured in the database in an order in which the channels are selected by the user. 16. Each channel information set includes a channel identifier and information on a previous program, wherein the program information includes broadcast date or time information, a broadcast station name, a program title,

The digital television system according to claim 14, wherein a selected function for the selected channel is performed based on two signals. 18. The plurality of selectable channel-related functions include: a channel change function for tuning to the selected channel and receiving a corresponding broadcast signal; and a text or video on demand service. 18. The digital television system according to claim 17, further comprising: a preview function for displaying previous or current program information of the selected channel, and a favorite channel function for determining the selected channel as a favorite channel.
