Since natural leather has a large number of fine pores and pores for perspiration on its surface, when it is used in, for example, volleyball, water penetrates into the leather through these pores. However, there is an advantage that even if sweat from a player's hand or the like adheres, the sweat is absorbed, it is hard to slip, and a good feel is maintained. On the other hand, most artificial leathers do not have micropores generally found in natural leather and have almost no water absorbing action. Under such circumstances, artificial leathers conventionally used for ball games such as volleyball and soccer balls have almost no water absorption, and particularly in a ball such as volleyball or handball that the player's hand directly touches, Because the ball slips due to stiff sweat, it becomes difficult to control the ball with advanced and delicate,
There is a tendency for higher level players not to like it.

In the present invention (claim 2), the resin layer is made of a polyurethane resin formed into an open-celled porous shape by reacting polyethylene glycol and diisocyanate. Is added. In such a configuration, the resin layer can contain a large amount of moisture due to its open-celled porous structure, and its action is further amplified by the addition of silica. The porous resin formed by reacting polyethylene glycol and isocyanate is hydrolyzed by itself, but the hydrolysis action is suppressed by adding polycarbonate diol or polytetramethylene glycol thereto.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS In FIG. 1, reference numeral 1 denotes a spherical hollow tube made of an air-impermeable elastic material such as butyl rubber as described above, in which compressed air is sealed via a valve (not shown). Reference numeral 2 denotes a reinforcing layer formed by covering the surface of the tube 1. A wound layer in which a nylon thread and a rubber thread are wound on an endless track by several thousand meters or a plurality of woven fabric pieces is stitched in a spherical shape. It is made of a cloth layer and gives the ball a reinforcing function such as sphericity, spherical shape retention, and durability. Reference numeral 6 denotes a leather panel, which is adhered adjacent to the reinforcing layer 2 via an adhesive layer 7 such as a chloroprene-based adhesive so that a plurality of ends are joined.
Normally, in the case of volleyball, the periphery of the leather panel 6 is cut obliquely as described above, and when the leather panel 6 is bonded on the reinforcing layer 2, a V-shaped groove is formed at the joint.

The leather panel 6 is made of an artificial leather panel.
The nonwoven fabric layer 8 is located on the inner side, that is, on the side bonded to the reinforcing layer 2, and the resin layer 9 is integrally formed on the outer side.
The nonwoven fabric layer 8 is made of, for example, 1-3 denier nylon fiber,
It is formed by entanglement of polyester fibers or short fibers obtained by mixing them by a fiber entanglement method such as needle punching or a hydroentanglement method. The surface smoothing treatment of the nonwoven fabric layer 8 is performed by using a heating roll and applying pressure at a temperature at which fibers are not damaged, for example, at a temperature in a range of about 70 to 130 ° C. for a certain time. . By such a treatment, the density of the nonwoven fabric layer 8 is set in a range of about 0.2 to 0.4 g / cm 3 . If it is less than this range, it is too soft, and if the density exceeds this range, there is a problem that it is too hard. In practice, optimum softness can be obtained at a density of about 0.28 g / cm 3 . The thickness of the nonwoven fabric layer 8 can be about 300 to 400 μm.

The resin layer 9 is made of a polyurethane resin obtained by a polyaddition reaction of polyethylene glycol (soft segment) and diisocyanate (hard segment), and has an open-cell porous structure. As the diisocyanate, one or a mixture of aromatic diisocyanate, aliphatic diisocyanate and aliphatic diisocyanate having a benzene ring is used. As the dihydric alcohol, polyethylene glycol having a molecular weight of about 1,000 to 3,000 is suitable. This is because when a polyurethane resin is formed by using polyethylene glycol, the number of hydrophilic groups increases, and the water absorption is improved. In addition,
Polyester alcohol can be used instead of polyethylene glycol.

About 5% by weight of a polycarbonate diol or polytetramethylene glycol is added to such a polyurethane resin to prevent hydrolysis upon contact with moisture. 10% by weight of silica is added. This resin layer 9
Is formed by impregnating the nonwoven fabric layer 8 with the above-mentioned two types of urethane mixed liquid, and reacting the liquid while coating the liquid on the surface. The polyurethane resin is formed by an existing wet process, and is subjected to coagulation, washing, drying, and post-processing after coating. When the polyurethane resin foam is formed, this penetrates into the nonwoven fabric layer 8 and the two are mechanically integrally bonded. The thickness of the resin layer 9 is about 400 μm.

Reference numeral 10 denotes a water absorption adjusting layer formed on the surface of the resin layer 9, and functions to regulate the amount of external moisture entering the resin layer 9. The water absorption adjusting layer 10 is formed by applying a solution of the polyurethane resin and the pigment having the above-described configuration in a mixed solvent of methyl ethyl ketone and dimethylformamide to the surface of the resin layer 9 and vaporizing the solvent. The surface of the resin layer 9 is embossed before performing the above-mentioned coating treatment, so that the surface of the resin layer 9 has a good moisture passage function. The water absorption adjusting layer 10 has a large number of fine holes, through which water passes. The amount of passing water is adjusted by the thickness of the layer, and when the thickness is about 20 to 30 μm, an appropriate water absorption can be obtained. Printing technology can be used for applying the water absorption adjusting layer 10. The pigment is added to color the leather panel 6 to a predetermined color.

The artificial leather panel 6 having the above-described structure was able to obtain a water absorption performance 2 to 5 times that of the conventional artificial leather panel. FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a change in the number of compressions-water absorption characteristics of a leather panel. The experiment was conducted in a container with water (water depth 2c).
In m), a ball to which the artificial leather panel 6 was attached was put in, and pressure was applied to the ball. In the figure, curve A shows the water absorption characteristics of natural leather, curves B and C show that of the artificial leather according to the embodiment, and curve D shows that of the conventional artificial leather.
Here, the difference between the curves B and C depends on the difference in the thickness of the water absorption adjusting layer 10. As can be seen from the figure, the artificial leather according to the embodiment exhibited water absorption properties close to that of natural leather, and thus provided a sweat absorption property close to that of natural leather and a feel when touched by hand.
