Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a delay in the progress of gear shifting, in clutch to clutch gear shifting. SOLUTION: In a case (t3") of a time elapsing between a point of time t2 when a desired amount of slide occurs to an engaging element on the release side and a start of inertia phase control being longer than a first deciding time Tmax, the control content of an oil pressure PH on the engagement side is varied to expedite oil pressure response on the engagement side. Reversely, in a case (t3") of the time being shorter than a second decision time Tmin, variation thereof is effected so that oil pressure response of an engaging element on the engagement side is delayed. Through learning control described above, gear shifting is gradually completed during a proper time with the progress of repetition of gear shifting.

2. Description of the Related Art In order to reduce the size and weight of an automatic transmission, a technology for shifting gears without using a one-way clutch as much as possible has been studied. This kind of shift is performed by the clutch
It is called clutch to clutch shifting. Clutch-to-clutch shifting refers to the previous clutch or brake (these are referred to as engagement elements).
Is released, and at the same time, the subsequent engagement element is engaged. Upshifting by clutch-to-clutch shift basically proceeds in the order of shift start control, torque phase control, inertia phase control, and shift end control. The torque phase control is control for changing only the torque of the engagement element on the engagement side. In this control, the hydraulic pressure of the engagement element on the disengagement side (that is, the preceding stage of the shift) is reduced, and a predetermined amount of slippage is generated in this engagement element. When such slippage occurs, the gear ratio starts to increase. From the time when this slippage occurs, the hydraulic pressure of the engagement element on the engagement side (that is, the latter stage of the shift) is increased. When the gear ratio starts to decrease, the control shifts from the torque phase control to the inertia phase control.

[0003] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. Hei 6-341527 discloses that during a clutch-to-clutch shift, the time from the start of the torque phase to the start of the inertia phase is detected. A technique for correcting a hydraulic control amount has been disclosed. In this technique, it is determined that the detection time is long, that is, that a tie-up (interlock) has occurred. Therefore, when the detection time is long, it is attempted to eliminate such tie-up by performing control to relatively increase only the drain speed of the hydraulic pressure on the release side.

According to the prior art described above, in the slip control on the release side during the torque phase control, the time from the start of the torque phase control to the start of the inertia phase control (that is, the time required for the torque phase control). ) Said that the cause of the prolonged period was the occurrence of tie-ups. And the prior art is
From such a viewpoint, the hydraulic pressure of the disengagement side engaging element is corrected. However, simply correcting the release-side hydraulic pressure may not eliminate the prolonged time. As a result of examination by the inventor, the cause of such prolongation is as follows.
It turns out that there are other important factors that have a greater impact than tie-ups. This factor is not taken into account at all in the above-mentioned prior art, and a hydraulic control different from that in the above-described prior art is required to eliminate the occurrence of a prolonged time due to this factor. Such prolongation causes a delay in the start of the inertia phase control, in other words, a delay in the progress of the shift, and causes a reduction in shift quality.

The main reason why the time required until the start of the inertia phase is delayed is considered to be the hydraulic response of the engagement element on the engagement side. Therefore, the control content of the hydraulic pressure on the engagement side is changed according to this time. That is, learning control is performed. Thereby, as the same shift is executed,
The delay in the time required until the start of the inertia phase control is gradually eliminated.

Each linear solenoid valve controls the engagement element corresponding to the linear solenoid valve directly and linearly (a continuous control amount is generated according to the current value) in accordance with the current value from the hydraulic control circuit 51. A system in which a solenoid valve is provided for each engagement element and the engagement of each engagement element is directly controlled by a corresponding valve is generally called direct AT.

FIG. 4 is a sectional view showing the structure of the linear solenoid valve. The magnetic field generated by the electromagnet in response to the control current moves the spool valve, thereby connecting the supply port and the output port. In the direct AT system using a linear solenoid valve, the hydraulic pressure can be adjusted linearly according to the control current. Further, it is not necessary to use an accumulator required for the duty solenoid valve. Therefore, in the direct AT system using the linear solenoid valve, high-precision hydraulic control that does not cause an interlock or a feeling of thrust can be performed by controlling the current supplied to the linear solenoid valve.
In this embodiment, a normally-high valve that supplies the maximum control pressure when the current is 0 is used as the linear solenoid valve. FIG.
5 is a table showing the relationship between the shift speed and the open / closed state of each linear solenoid valve.

In the torque phase control executed after the time t2, hydraulic control is performed so that the generated slip is maintained (that is, the state where the speed ratio r matches the slip speed ratio Rup). That is, the hydraulic pressure PD of the high clutch 5 on the engaging side is gradually increased at the same time as the hydraulic pressure PD on the disengagement side is further reduced. Immediately after the start of the torque phase control, for a while, the speed ratio r matches the slip speed ratio Rup which is larger than the speed ratio R2 before the speed change. The process proceeds to step 12 according to the determination in step 11. In step 12, the counter adds 1 to the value of the counter value CT. The counter value CT is initially set to 0. The counter value CT counts the time required from when the torque phase control flag FT is set to 1 (time t2) to when the speed ratio r is synchronized with the speed ratio R2 of the second speed (time t3). .

In step 13, it is determined whether the value of the counter value CT is longer than the first determination time Tmax. That is, it is determined whether the time required for the torque phase control is longer than the first determination time Tmax. The first determination time Tmax provides a criterion for determining whether the hydraulic control of the high clutch 5 is appropriately performed.
If the time required for the torque phase control is longer than the first determination value Tmax, it is determined that the response of the engagement side hydraulic pressure PH is too slow. Therefore, in order to make such a determination accurately, it is important that the first determination time Tmax is appropriately set. In FIG. 6, a solid line a relating to the speed ratio r indicates an ideal change in the speed ratio when the hydraulic pressure PH on the engagement side changes as set. In this case, the time (time t3) at which the speed ratio r is synchronized with the speed ratio R2 of the second speed is shorter than the first determination time Tmax.
Therefore, the process proceeds from the determination in step 13 to step 17.

In step 17, the counter value CT is set to the second
It is determined whether or not the time required for the torque phase control is shorter than the second determination time Tmin. The second determination time Tmin, like the first determination time Tmax, provides a criterion for determining whether or not the hydraulic control of the high clutch 5 is being properly performed. The fact that the time required for the torque phase control is shorter than the second determination value Tmin means that the response of the engagement side hydraulic pressure PH is too fast. Therefore, in order to make such a determination accurately, it is important that the second determination time Tmin is appropriately set. In FIG.
When the speed ratio r is appropriately changing as indicated by the solid line a, the time point at which the speed ratio r is synchronized with the speed ratio R2 (time t3) is longer than the second determination time Tmin. In this case, the process proceeds to step 19. In step 19, the hydraulic response correction flag Famd is set to 0. After that, the counter value CT
Is reset (step 15), and the torque phase control flag FT is set to 0 (step 16). Thereby, the torque phase control ends.

In step 16, when the flag FT is set to 0 at time t3 and the torque phase control control is completed, the inertia phase control is subsequently started. In the inertia phase control, hydraulic pressure control is performed so that the speed ratio r smoothly changes toward the speed ratio R3 after the speed change. This is achieved by appropriately changing the engagement-side oil pressure PH while keeping the release-side oil pressure PD at the minimum pressure Pmin. Then, when the speed ratio r is synchronized with the speed ratio R3 after the speed change (time t4), the inertia phase control is ended and the shift end control is started. With this control, the hydraulic pressure PH on the engagement side is
Is raised to the maximum pressure Pmax (time t5)
Then, the shift end control is ended. Thereby, a series of shift control is completed.

Here, the value set in the hydraulic response correction flag Famd has the following meaning. The specific correction of the hydraulic response will be described later. Hydraulic response correction flag Meaning 0 Does not correct the hydraulic response on the engaging side 1 Executes the correction to make the hydraulic response on the engaging side faster 2 Executes the correction to make the hydraulic response on the engaging side slower The correction flag Famd is set to 0 in step 19 of the judgment flow of (1). In this case, in the determination flow of the hydraulic pressure correction of FIG. 8, the process proceeds to the return through the determinations of steps 20 and 21. That is, as long as the correction flag Famd is 0, the subroutine relating to the correction of the hydraulic response as shown in steps 22 and 23 is not executed. As a result, the time required for the torque phase control is equal to the first determination time Tmax and the second determination time Tmin.
In this case, it is determined that the hydraulic pressure PH of the high clutch 5 on the engagement side is responding appropriately, and the control content of the hydraulic pressure PH is not corrected.

Next, as shown by the one-dot chain line b in FIG.
In the torque phase control, a case where the gear ratio r is delayed from being synchronized with the gear ratio R2 and is synchronized at time t3 'will be described. In this case, the time t3 '
Is longer than the first determination time Tmax. Accordingly, 1 is set to the correction flag Famd from the determination in step 13 in the determination flow regarding the necessity of correction (step 14). In this case, a correction subroutine for speeding up the response of the hydraulic pressure PH on the engagement side is executed according to the determination in step 20 in the flow of FIG. 8 (step 22). That is, the time required for the inertia phase control is the first.
Is longer than the determination time Tmax, it can be determined that the hydraulic response of the hydraulic pressure PH on the engagement side is too slow. Therefore, by executing the subroutine of step 22, the high clutch 5
The control content of the hydraulic pressure PH is changed (details will be described later). After the execution of this subroutine, the correction flag Famd is set to 0 (step 24).

Further, as shown by the two-dot chain line c in FIG. 6, in the torque phase control, the case where the speed ratio r is quickly synchronized with the speed ratio R2 and synchronized at time t3 "will be described. In this case, the time t3 "is shorter than the second determination time Tmin.
Accordingly, 2 is set to the correction flag Famd based on the determinations in steps 13 and 17 in FIG. 7 (step 18). In this case, step 2 in the flow of FIG.
Based on the determination of 0 and step 21, a correction subroutine for delaying the response of the hydraulic pressure PH on the engagement side is executed.
(Step 23). That is, when the time required for the inertia phase control is shorter than the second determination time Tmin, it can be determined that the hydraulic response of the engagement side hydraulic pressure PH is too fast. Therefore, by executing the subroutine of step 23, the control content of the hydraulic pressure PH for the high clutch 5 is changed so as to delay the hydraulic response on the engagement side (details will be described later). After this subroutine is executed,
The correction flag Famd is set to 0 (step 24).

FIG. 9 is a diagram for explaining a method of changing the control content relating to the hydraulic pressure PH of the high clutch 5 on the engagement side. The hydraulic response of the high clutch 5 can be corrected by the following exemplified method. (1) Correction of inclination of hydraulic pressure PH When performing correction to speed up response of hydraulic pressure PH (Step 2)
(2 subroutine), the control content of the hydraulic pressure PH is changed so as to increase the inclination shown by the solid line d. Conversely, hydraulic pressure P
When the correction for delaying the responsiveness of H is performed (subroutine of step 23), the slope shown by the solid line d is set small. (2) Correction for Adding / Subtracting a Constant Value When performing a correction for accelerating the response of the hydraulic pressure PH, the hydraulic pressure P is controlled by a broken line e obtained by adding a constant value to the solid line d.
Change the control contents of H. Conversely, when performing a correction for delaying the response of the hydraulic pressure PH, a value obtained by subtracting a constant value from the solid line d is used. (3) Change of startup correction amount When performing correction to speed up the response of hydraulic pressure PH, t2-t2
'To increase the amount of start-up correction performed during For example, the rising amount is increased (to a value closer to the maximum pressure Pmax), and the rising width (between t2 and t2 ') is increased. Conversely, when performing a correction that delays the response of the hydraulic pressure PH, such a correction amount is reduced.

Based on the control contents of the hydraulic pressure PH of the high clutch 5 to which this change has been added, the same shift is used next time. That is, the hydraulic pressure PH is corrected (learning correction) based on the changed control content. Through such correction performed each time the shift is performed, the delay in the time required for the torque phase control is gradually eliminated. Conversely, if the time required for this control is too short, this time gradually increases so as to fall within an appropriate time. Through this series of controls, the torque phase control is completed within an appropriate time. By prescribing such control contents of the hydraulic pressure for each engagement element and learning and correcting the control contents for each engagement element, the torque phase control can be performed within an appropriate time in all types of shifts. Can be completed. Therefore, it is possible to suppress a decrease in shift quality.

In addition to the above-described method of changing the control content relating to the hydraulic pressure, the time required from the time when the slippage occurs (time t2) to the start of the inertia phase control (time t3) is determined by the determination time (Tmax or Tmin). The larger the difference from (1), the larger the correction amount of the hydraulic pressure of the engagement element on the engagement side may be set. By doing so, it can be expected that the number of shifts required to stay within the appropriate torque phase control time can be further reduced.

As described above, in the present invention, it is considered that the main cause of the delay of the start of the inertia phase control is often the delay of the hydraulic response of the engagement side engagement element rather than the tie-up. On the other hand, when the start of the inertia phase control is too early, it is considered that the control regarding the hydraulic response of the engagement side engagement element is often too early. Therefore, the control content regarding the hydraulic response of the engagement side engagement element is changed according to the time required for the torque phase control. Then, when a similar shift is performed next time, the engagement side hydraulic control is performed based on the changed control content. The torque phase control can be completed within an appropriate time by a series of the hydraulic pressure learning on the engagement side engagement element, so that a reduction in shift quality can be suppressed.
