Abstract
Description
As is known, in looms with continuous feeding of the weft with pincers, the weft thread is picked up from the bobbin or from the feed weft feeder by a carrying pincer which transports it up to the middle of the shed. Here the yarn is exchanged between the carrying clamp and the pulling clamp, which transports the yarn to the exit of the shed, releases it free or woven into the false selvedge and then reinserts itself in the shed to carry out a new cycle.
The present invention relates to a drawing gripper for shuttle-less weaving looms of the type indicated above.
In particular, the invention refers to improvements in a drawing gripper, such as the one described and illustrated in the Italian patent No. 21291 A / 84 in the name of the same Applicant, having the purpose of increasing the gripping efficiency of the weft thread and of therefore, on the one hand, reducing the risk of the weft thread escaping from the pulling gripper during high-acceleration transport of modern looms and, on the other hand, guaranteeing a correct and safe release of said thread at the end of its stroke.
Normally in the drawing grippers there are elements for gripping and locking the weft thread which, as can be seen in Figures 1 and 2, consist of a wedge-shaped slider 1 movable longitudinally to the gripper inside a hook 2 arranged on a horizontal plane at the head end of the pulling gripper. The wedge 1 has a flat surface 1A in guiding abutment on a shank 2A of the hook 2 and a locking surface 1B inclined with respect to the previous one and intended to cooperate with a corresponding surface 2C of the end 2B of the hook. Elastic means (not shown) are provided between the wedge-shaped slider 1 and the body of the gripper, which keep said slider elastically pressed inside this hook 2, so that the locking of the weft thread can be disengaged by acting on the wedge-shaped slider in contrast with the elastic medium.
The hook 2 and the wedge 1 are configured in such a way that the reciprocal opposite surfaces 1B and 2C, cooperating to lock the wire, essentially form a narrow dihedral 3.
In this way the weft thread is inserted into the dihedral 3, remaining stuck due to the tension to which it is subjected and is released upon separation of the two surfaces of the dihedral itself, obtained by the action of known means, such as those illustrated in the Italian patents N ° 21291/84 and 22229 A / 87 in the name of the Applicant.
The separation movement of said two opposing cooperating surfaces 1B and 2C occurs almost by sliding, i.e. with a minimum component orthogonal to the two surfaces themselves, since the cursor moves away along the longitudinal axis of the gripper which, for reasons of geometry that will result better understood later on, it has a direction very close to that according to which the inclined surface 1B of the wedge 1 is oriented.
In fact, to increase the retension effect of the weft thread by the drawing gripper, and therefore to reduce the possibility of the thread being lost during transport, it is necessary that the direction according to which the tension T acts on the thread is close to the bisector of the dihedral 3, so as to facilitate the insertion of the wire itself. In other words, the smaller the angle a (fig. 1) between the bisector of the dihedral 3 and the direction T according to which the thread tension acts, the stronger the "tightening" effect of the weft thread at the inside of the hook 2.
Furthermore, it is immediately understandable how much easier and safer the insertion of the weft thread in the dihedral is, the closer the bisector is to the direction according to which the weft thread is arranged in the shed.
Therefore, the wedge of the slider is very acute, that is, the inclined surface 1B of the wedge has a course close to the direction of advancement of the slider. Advantageously, with this configuration, the friction angles are unfavorable to a spontaneous opening of the hook-wedge dihedral.
The solution proposed by the known art, that is the pulling gripper equipped with a very acute wedge slider, which performs a translation along its longitudinal axis in the traditional way, has been widely used, but is often unable to guarantee good operation with all varieties. and the types of weft by title and processing.
Furthermore, with known pliers, it is not possible to reduce the value of the angle a between the bisector of the dihedral 3 and the direction of the weft thread in the shed beyond a certain limit, because the hook opening system would not guarantee a correct opening. and ready of the pulling gripper. In fact, as can be seen from a comparison between fig. 1A and fig. 2A, with the same stroke C of the wedge slider 1, the wider the angle a is, the more a large opening B of the hook is obtained. Therefore, from this point of view it would be preferable to have a large angle, which would guarantee a quick and ready opening of the hook, while, in the limit, to open the hook with a tending to zero, the stroke C would tend to infinity.
The need to maintain a small angle therefore constitutes a major limitation, because a faulty opening of the hook can cause the gripper to retain the weft thread already introduced and reinsert it (double weft) in the next beat, causing serious defects in the fabric.
Therefore the value of the angle a in known applications always constitutes a compromise between an effective closure, with an effective insertion of the weft thread in the hook, and a ready and safe opening during the thread release phase.
The object of the present invention is to overcome this conflict between opposing needs, providing a pulling gripper which involves a very small angle a between the bisector of the hook-wedge dihedral and the working direction of the weft thread and, at the same time, a movement of removal of the cooperating and opposite surfaces 2C and 1B of hook and wedge in a direction close to the normal to said surfaces.
This purpose is achieved with a pulling gripper for weaving looms, consisting of a gripper body, a hook arranged at one end of said body and a movable slider, housed in the gripper body and movable longitudinally in the direction of the hook, which also comprises a wedging rod fixed at one end cantilevered to the body of the pliers and arranged, with the other free end, between said slider and a side of the end of the hook, against which it is adapted to be pressed from the cursor, the weft thread being inserted and clamped between said free end of the rod and said side of the end of the hook.
Ulteriori scopi e caratteristiche della presente invenzione risulteranno più evidenti dalla descrizione dettagliata che segue svolta con riferimento ai disegni allegati, nei quali: Further objects and characteristics of the present invention will become more evident from the detailed description which follows carried out with reference to the attached drawings, in which:
figg. 1 e 1A sono viste in pianta di una pinza traente secondo la tecnica nota, rispettivamente con il gancio in posizione chiusa e in posizione aperta; figs. 1 and 1A are plan views of a drawing gripper according to the prior art, with the hook in the closed position and in the open position, respectively;
figg. 2 e 2A sono viste in pianta analoghe a quelle delle figg. 1 e 1A di una un'altra pinza traente secondo la tecnica nota ; figs. 2 and 2A are plan views similar to those of figs. 1 and 1A of another drawing gripper according to the known art;
figg. 3 and 3A are plan views of a pulling gripper according to a preferred embodiment of the invention; and figs. 4 and 4A are plan views of a pulling gripper according to another preferred embodiment of the invention.
' The pulling gripper according to the present invention is totally different from the prior art grippers because, in addition to being composed of a gripper body 10, a wedge-shaped cursor 11, sliding in the body 10, and a hook 12 shaped at the end of head of the caliper body, also comprises a yielding wedging rod or strip 17 (fig. 3). The wedging plate 17 is fixed with one of its ends to the body 10 of the caliper, by means of a screw 14 near the base of the hook 2, while the other end of its head E is free and is arranged between the wedge-shaped slider 11 and the end 12B of the hook 12. In this way, the outer face of the strap 17 is coupled with the side 15 of the end 12B of the hook 12, while the inner face of the strap 17, near its free head end E, has a bulge of suitable shape to cooperate with the wedge-shaped slider 11. '
According to the invention, the elasticity of the wedging strap 17 is exploited to make it flex towards the shank 12A of the hook, causing it to exert an elastic action on the wedge-shaped slider 11. Preferably this is achieved by adopting a strap made of a flexible material , for example harmonic steel, suitably profiled.
This ensures that the coupling between the same strip 17 and the surface of the side 15 of the hook 12 occurs with a very small dihedral 13, the bisector of which forms, with the working direction of the weft thread 16, an angle a too. small.
The weft thread 16 is thus held, instead of between the wedge-shaped slider 11 and the surface of the side 15 of the hook 12 as in the known art, between the surface of the side 15 and the strap 17.
According to a first embodiment, the head E is in the form of a wedge and is adapted to cooperate with the wedge-shaped slider 11 according to two coincident surfaces which form, with the direction of advancement of the wedge-shaped slider 11, a large angle β.
Therefore, in the drawing gripper according to the invention, a large angle β is obtained, as desired, which ensures a large displacement of the head E, even for a limited stroke of the wedge slider 11, displacement which is reflected in a large opening and ready of the hook 12. In fact, the strap 17 moves away from the end 12B of the hook 12 in a direction which, in view of the movement of the strap itself due to its elasticity, is substantially perpendicular to the surface of the side 15.
The operation of the gripper according to the invention will now be explained, so as to make the description even clearer.
L'inserzione e il ritegno del filo di trama nel diedro 13 sono facilitati e incentivati dal basso valore dell'angolo a e dal fatto che la tensione T del filo, essendo l'angolo a piccolo, si scarica quasi totalmente sulla componente diretta come la bisettrice F. The pulling gripper is inserted into the shed in the closed condition, with the wedge-shaped slider 11 pressed against the head E of the strap 17 by elastic retaining means (not shown). During the passage of the weft thread from the carrying gripper to the drawing gripper, the end of the thread 16 is inserted into the V-shaped dihedral 13, wedging between the external surface of the strap 17 and the side 15 of the end 12B of the hook 12. The insertion and retention of the weft yarn in the dihedral 13 are facilitated and encouraged by the low value of the angle a and by the fact that the tension T of the yarn, being the angle a small, is almost totally discharged on the direct component such as the bisector F.
The drawing gripper then continues its run, dragging the weft thread 16 with it until, exiting the shed, a known opening mechanism intervenes on the wedge-shaped slider 11, retracting it towards the body 10 of the gripper, which is so open. The strap 17, under the action of its elasticity and released from the wedge-shaped slider 11, in fact flexes towards the shank 12A of the hook 12, promptly releasing the weft thread 16 (Fig. 3A). Immediately afterwards the gripper can close again and re-enter the step for a new cycle.
Advantageously, the mutually coupled surfaces of the end 12B of the hook 12, of the wedge-shaped slider 11 and of the strap 17 can be variously shaped to obtain the most suitable laws of motion.
Inoltre, i piani inclinati possono essere disposti secondo diverse soluzioni, quali per esempio: Furthermore, the inclined planes can be arranged according to different solutions, such as for example:
a) piani inclinati tra cursore a cuneo e testa della piattina come descritto sopra; a) inclined planes between the wedge slider and the head of the strip as described above;
b) piani inclinati tra cursore a cuneo e gambo del gancio come illustrato nelle figg. 4 e 4A; b) inclined planes between the wedge-shaped slider and the shank of the hook as illustrated in figs. 4 and 4A;
c) combinazioni tra le soluzioni a) e b). c) combinations between solutions a) and b).
Così, la pinza traente rappresentata in fig. 4A in posizione aperta e in fig. Thus, the pulling gripper shown in FIG. 4A in the open position and in fig. 4B in closed position represents another embodiment, meeting the specifications of point b) above. In this case the wedge-shaped slider 11 collaborates with an inclined plane 18 of the shank 12A of the hook 12, while the free end of the strap 17 is simply thicker than the remaining flexible portion thereof.
The operation of this pulling gripper is completely analogous to that of the gripper described above. The wedge slider, having to work against the inclined plane 18 which is fixed, must have two degrees of freedom that allow it a movement consisting of a translation X along the longitudinal axis of the gripper and a movement in the orthogonal direction Y imposed by the 'inclination of the inclined plane 18.
Also in this case, the angle a can be chosen as small as desired, while the angle β of the inclined plane 18 will be sufficiently large to ensure a prompt and effective opening.
The different embodiments described above are able to reconcile the two opposite requirements illustrated at the beginning, thus fully achieving the purposes of the invention.
This is perfectly evident by observing figs. 3A and 4A, in which a short stroke C of the slider gives rise to a wide separation B between the side 15 and the opposite surface of the strip 17, effectively and promptly releasing the weft thread 16.
A further advantage deriving from the use of a pliers as described, is that the surface of the side 15 of the end 12B of the hook 12 and the external surface of the strap 17 can be serrated, since the mutual separation takes place essentially orthogonally to said surfaces and there is therefore no risk of entanglement between the opposing teeth of the serrated surfaces.
However, it is understood that the invention is not limited to the particular configurations illustrated above, which constitute only non-limiting examples of the scope of the invention itself, but that numerous variants are possible, all within the reach of a person skilled in the art, without thereby get out of the scope of the finding.
For example, although reference has always been made in the description to a strap 17, the inventive concept remains that of adopting an elastic rod interposed between the open side of the hook and the wedge-shaped slider. Therefore, just as effective could be the use of a rod or bar with a circular or polygonal section, with a suitably shaped free end head.
