Descrizione della domanda di brevetto per invenzione industriale dal titolo: Description of the patent application for industrial invention entitled:
"Tessuto per dispositivi di protezione individuale multifunzionali" "Fabric for multifunctional personal protective equipment"
Descrizione Description
The present invention relates to a fabric for multifunctional personal protective equipment.
More particularly, the present invention refers to a fabric especially suitable for making the so-called "PPE" personal protective devices, used to carry out activities involving various kinds of risks; these devices are designed to protect even contemporary risks due to bad weather (compliant with UNI EN 343), poor visibility (compliant with UNI EN 471) using extremely visible colors such as orange, red and yellow " High visibility ", the accumulation of static electricity (complying with the UNI EN 1149 standard), heat, fire (complying with the UNI EN ISO 11612 standard), splashes of molten metal (complying with the UNI EN ISO 11611 standard) and splashes of liquid chemical agents (complying with the UNI EN 469 standard). These devices consist of overalls formed in a single piece or a jacket and trousers. These garments are intended for individuals operating in various sectors, for example, oil and chemical industries, power generation, construction and in the military or fire department.
It is known that those assigned to tasks that are risky for their safety are provided with specific protective equipment which can be of various types; in fact, the garments can guarantee mechanical, thermal, chemical or other protection. The aforementioned clothing or personal protective equipment usually offers more protection at the same time, so they are made with heterogeneous layers of material to ensure an optimal result. With reference to the subjects operating on oil extraction platforms, the protective devices dedicated to them are designed to be waterproof and at the same time breathable (UNI EN 343), to be extremely visible (UNI EN 471) with the adoption of the color orange, red and yellow "High visibility", to avoid the accumulation of static electricity (UNI EN 1149), to protect from heat and fire (UNI EN ISO 11612) rather than from welding splashes (UNI EN ISO 14116) as well as from splashes from liquid chemical agents (UNI EN 469). Some multi-risk protective fabrics are known which are capable of protecting against the same risks mentioned above, fabrics which however entail some drawbacks.
These fabrics, in fact, mostly use modacrylic fibers and cotton, with small percentages of aramid fiber and are overall expensive to make as well as difficult to maintain as they are subject to getting dirty easily. Among other things, these fabrics are made, as regards the UNI EN 471 standard regarding high visibility, in the yellow color only. Moreover, the same fabrics have considerable thickness and weight, with the consequence that the protection devices made with them are not very comfortable. The object of the present invention is to obviate the above-mentioned drawbacks.
More particularly, the object of the present invention is to provide a fabric for the production of multifunctional individual protection devices able to guarantee an effective multiple protection while maintaining a very low weight.
A further and consequent object of the invention is to provide a fabric that allows the production of individual protection devices of reduced thickness, such as not to tire the user and not to make movement difficult.
A further object of the invention is to provide a fabric as defined above which is of low cost and which can be produced not only in yellow but also in fluorescent orange and red according to the UNI EN 471 standard.
A further object of the invention is to make available to users a fabric capable of guaranteeing a high level of resistance and reliability over time, easy to maintain and, moreover, such that it can be easily and economically produced.
