DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to an improved counter frame for sliding doors.

Nowadays, in buildings where, for aesthetic reasons or lack of space, it is not possible to use swing doors, the use of sliding doors is widespread.

Sliding doors usually comprise one or two leaves.

These doors can be made of different materials, for example, metal, wood, plastic, glass, or a combination of these.

Sliding doors are divided into two main categories: the “external wall” and the “retractable” ones.

The “external wall” sliding doors have their own leaves bound to slide along a visible guide, fixed, at least in part, in a portion of the wall above the passage hole.

These doors are arranged so as to slide between the passage hole and a wall contiguous to this hole, but always remaining visible.

The "retractable" doors, on the other hand, have their doors bound to slide along a guide, hidden from view, fixed, at least in part, above the passage hole. These leaves are arranged to slide between the passage hole and a housing box contiguous to this hole. This box is designed to conceal the presence of the doors when they are in the opening configuration.

Both the “external wall” and the “concealed” sliding doors have doors fixed, each, to at least two carriages that slide inside the guide described above.

The “concealed” sliding doors therefore require a box to house the doors, in the opening configuration.

To make such a box, a subframe is installed, fixing it to the edges of the original hole. In this way the original hole is narrowed.

This type of subframe is usually made of metal.

Taking into consideration, for example, a single-leaf sliding door, this counterframe normally provides two end uprights consisting of special profiles arranged vertically, which support an upper profile containing the sliding guide.

In a substantially median position there are two facing vertical profiles, supporting the same upper profile, suitable for defining the limit of the passage hole and the opening of the box for the disappearance of the door.

In particular, these median profiles are placed at a distance that allows the sliding door to pass.

Between one of the two end uprights and each of the two opposite median profiles, substantially horizontal crosspieces are then fixed to give greater rigidity to the subframe and define the structure of the disappearance box.

The box has surfaces defined externally by plasterboard panels.

In addition, or as an alternative to these crosspieces, suitable sheets can be used between the end upright and the two opposite median profiles.

These known techniques have some drawbacks.

Usually uprights and transoms have standard measures. For undersized applications, it is necessary to use specific elements with the required measurements.

This involves considerable costs and long installation times.

Alternatively, it is possible to carry out directly, during the installation phase, a series of operations, such as detecting the required length of the individual elements and cutting to size.

However, this determines a lengthening of the installation times of the subframe and a complex and uncomfortable procedure.

Furthermore, the cutting of the structural elements of the subframe on site, if not well executed, risks compromising the structural characteristics of the single element and consequently also compromising those of the structure as a whole. In fact, non negligible twisting or bending moments can develop.

For oversize applications, on the other hand, it is still possible to make use of elements of specific length, with considerable costs and long installation times.

Alternatively, it is possible to add auxiliary elements by fixing them to the base ones, to bring them to size.

This entails the need for a considerable number of additional operations such as: measuring the required length, finding the appropriate auxiliary element and fixing it to the base element.

In addition, this known technique also determines additional costs with respect to those of the standard elements for the subframe.

The object of the present invention is to provide a counter frame which is capable of improving the known art in one or more of the aspects indicated above.

Within this aim, an object of the invention is to provide a counter frame for sliding doors which allows great applicability.

Another object of the invention is to provide a counter frame for sliding doors which allows its elements to be lengthened or shortened easily in applications, respectively, oversized or under measurement, and does not require the use of auxiliary elements.

A further object of the invention is to provide a counter frame for sliding doors which allows a rapid variation of the length of its elements, in the case of oversized or undersized applications.

Furthermore, the present invention aims to overcome the drawbacks of the known art in an alternative way to any existing solutions.

Not least object of the invention is to provide a counterframe which is highly reliable, relatively easy to manufacture and at competitive costs.

This task, as well as these and other purposes which will appear better below, are achieved by a counter frame for sliding doors of the type comprising a frame enclosed in a box, said counter frame comprising:

- two opposite end uprights, first and second respectively,

- a main crosspiece, extending between the upper ends of said two end uprights,

- two opposite intermediate uprights, in a substantially median position between said two end uprights,

- one or more pairs of secondary crosspieces, each included between one of said end uprights and one of said intermediate uprights, said counterframe being characterized by the fact that said main crosspiece, said end uprights, said intermediate uprights and said secondary crosspieces have a changeable length.

Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will become clearer from the description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of the counter frame for sliding doors according to the invention, illustrated, by way of non-limiting example, in the accompanying drawings, in which:

With reference to the aforementioned figures, a counter frame for sliding doors, according to the invention, is globally indicated with the reference number 10.

The counter frame 10 is made of metallic material.

This counter frame 10 for sliding doors comprises two opposite end uprights 11 and 12.

In particular, the two uprights 11 and 12, in addition to defining the ends of the counterframe 10, define: the first end upright 11, an end of the passage hole, which the edge of a door faces, not shown in the figures , in closed configuration; the second end upright 12, on the other hand, is an end of a body 50 for housing the door, outlined in the figures, which the edge of the door opposite to that described above faces, when this is in the open configuration.

The counter frame 10 comprises a main cross member 13. The main crosspiece 13 extends between the upper ends of the end uprights 11 and 12.

This main crosspiece 13 contains a guide, not shown in the figures, for the sliding of at least two carriages fixed to the aforementioned leaf.

As mentioned, the counterframe 10 comprises a frame which, enclosed by panels, defines a body 50, for housing the door in the opening configuration.

The box, which is not part of the subframe, extends from one of the two end uprights towards the passage hole.

In the example shown in the figures, the caisson extends from the second upright 12.

The counterframe 10 comprises two opposed intermediate uprights 14a and 14b, placed in a substantially median position between the two end uprights 11 and 12, defining the mouth of the box.

The intermediate uprights 14a and 14b are fixed above the main crosspiece 13.

This counterframe 10 also comprises a plurality of secondary pairs of crosspieces 15a and 15b, horizontal in use, comprised between one of the end uprights and one of the intermediate uprights 14a and 14b and fixed thereto.

In the example shown in Figure 1, the pairs of crosspieces 15a, 15b are associated with the second end upright 12.

The secondary crosspieces 15a, 15b are made starting from a metal sheet, preferably in galvanized steel, for example the one defined by the EN 10142 standard as DX 51 D, Z 140.

The secondary crosspieces 15a, 15b are arranged in pairs and mutually opposed, in this way a first secondary crosspiece 15a is associated with the first intermediate upright 14a and the opposite second secondary crosspiece 15b is associated with the second intermediate upright 14b.

In particular, the two intermediate uprights 14a and 14b and the two secondary crosspieces 15a and 15b of each pair are the same and arranged symmetrically, with respect to the sliding direction of the door.

The second end upright 12, the two intermediate uprights 14a, 14b, the pairs of secondary crosspieces 15a, 15b, and the corresponding portion of the main crosspiece 13, constitute the frame of the box 50, finished with the fastening, to the aforementioned components, of a plurality of panels not shown in the figures, for example in plasterboard, wood or the like.

One of the peculiarities of the invention consists in the fact that, in this counterframe 10, the main crosspiece 13, the end uprights 11 and 12, the intermediate uprights 14a, 14b and the secondary crosspieces 15a, 15b are adjustable in length. Considering Figure 3, the main crosspiece 13 comprises a composite profile 44, having a plurality of notches and / or marks 16 indicating predefined lengths, suitable for facilitating the installer, in cutting the crosspiece to size, during the step of implementation in oversized or undersized width applications.

The section 44 can be made, for example, in two sizes, one for standard holes with notches 16 for applications of undersized width, and the other, of greater length, with notches 16 for holes of oversized width.

With the expression “standard measures” we mean the measures for a subframe related to a standard hole. These measures vary from country to country and the measures of the country in which the subframe is to be applied must therefore be considered 10.

By way of example, but not limited to, the standard measurements for a door in Italy are given: width 815-835 mm, height 2010-2100 mm.

The section 44 can also be made in a single size with notches and / or signs 16 defining various lengths, both for holes of standard width, and for holes of under or oversized width.

Considering Figure 4, the first end upright 11 can be extended to allow the application of the counter frame 10 in holes of oversized height.

The first end upright 11 has a longitudinal development and has a main profile 20, of standard length, comprising two opposite tubular bodies 17a and 17b, mutually parallel and parallel to the direction of development of the upright 11.

The expression "standard length", referring to the main profile 20 of the first end upright 11, means a length of the profile which substantially follows the standard height of the door of the country in which the counterframe 10 is applied.

The main profile 20 has a section with a substantially "C" shape and comprises two tubular bodies 17a, 17b, respectively first 17a and second 17b, substantially in correspondence with the two corners of the section.

In this description, the term “section” refers to the section defined by a plane orthogonal to the development direction of the component considered.

Between the two tubular bodies 17a and 17b there is a third tubular body 46, with a quadrangular section, preferably rectangular, and in a single body with the other two.

These tubular bodies 17a and 17b have a quadrangular section, preferably square.

These tubular bodies 17a, 17b both face the passage hole, one towards a first room and the other towards a second room, these two rooms being separated by the sliding door in question.

Each tubular body 17a, 17b is suitable for the partial insertion of a corresponding quadrangular section pin, 18a and 18b respectively.

These pins 18a and 18b are fixed to the respective tubular bodies 17a and 17b by means of a plurality of screws, not shown in the figures, which each pass through two corresponding through holes, also not shown in the figures, one of the tubular body 17a, 17b and the other of the corresponding pin 18a, 18b.

The elongation of the first end upright 11 is ensured by the presence of a secondary profile 19, having the same shape as the main profile 20 and comprising two similar tubular bodies 21a and 21b, with quadrangular section.

The secondary profile 19 can be produced in different sizes or in a single size. In the second case, the secondary profile 19 has a plurality of marks, defining different sizes, to facilitate the cutting operation to the required size.

The tubular bodies 21a and 21b are suitable for inserting the remaining portions of the pins 18a and 18b, after fixing the latter to the main profile 20.

These pins 18a and 18b are fixed to the respective tubular bodies 21a and 21b by means of screws, not shown in the figures, which each pass through two corresponding through holes, partly illustrated in the figures, one in the tubular body 21a, 21b and the other in the corresponding spine 18a, 18b.

The main profile 20 of the first end upright 11 and the secondary profile 19 are superimposed so that the projections of the respective sections are substantially coincident.

Considering Figure 5, the intermediate uprights 14a and 14b each have a main profile, respectively 22a and 22b of standard length and substantially "L" section, presenting a tubular body: indicated with the reference number 23a for the main profile 22a , not shown for main profile 22b.

These tubular bodies have a quadrangular section, preferably square.

These tubular bodies each have a section substantially corresponding to the shorter part of the "L" shape defining the section.

The main profiles 22a and 22b each have a flat portion, respectively 43a and 43b.

The flat portions 43a and 43b have a section corresponding to the longest part of the "L" shape defining the section of the main profiles 22a and 22b.

The two uprights 14a and 14b are specular with respect to the plane passing through in the sliding direction of the door.

In particular, the tubular body 23a of the main profile 22a and its corresponding tubular body of the main profile 22b are parallel, extend in the same direction of development as the intermediate uprights 14a, 14b and have a quadrangular section, preferably square.

These tubular bodies of the main profiles 22a and 22b of the intermediate uprights are arranged in an end position of the box 50, both facing the passage hole, one towards a first room, and / or a first wall, and the other towards a second room, and / or a second wall, these two rooms being separated by the sliding door in question.

These tubular bodies are suitable for inserting a pin, respectively 24a and 24b, with a quadrangular section, preferably square, for connection to a corresponding secondary profile, 25a and 25b respectively.

Said secondary profiles 25a, 25b have the same shape as the corresponding main profile 22a, 22b and comprise a similar tubular body 26a and 26b, with a quadrangular section, for the insertion of the remaining portion of the pin 24a, 24b after the insertion of this last in the corresponding tubular body of the main profile 22a, 22b.

The secondary profiles 25a, 25b can be produced in different sizes or in a single size.

In the second case, the secondary profiles 25a, 25b have a plurality of marks and / or notches, not shown in the figures, defining different sizes, to facilitate the cutting operation to the required size.

The secondary profiles 25a and 25b each have a flat portion, 27a and 27b respectively.

The flat portions 27a and 27b have a section corresponding to the longest part of the "L" shape defining the section of the secondary profiles 25a and 25b.

Such flat portions 27a and 27b have a plurality of through holes 28, similarly to the corresponding flat portions 43a, 43b of the profiles 22a, 22b of the intermediate uprights 14a, 14b, for fixing one or more pairs of secondary crosspieces 15a, 15b.

The main profiles 22a, 22b of the intermediate uprights 14a, 14b are superimposed on the respective secondary profiles 25a, 25b so that the projections of the respective sections are substantially coincident.

Considering Figure 6, the second end upright 12 comprises a main profile 29, of standard length, having a substantially “C” -shaped section, consisting of three flat portions.

In particular, the external surface of the central flat portion 31 is in contact with the end of the hole in which the sliding door and / or an external wall is installed.

The two opposite flat portions 32, on the other hand, face respectively: one towards a first room, and / or a first wall, and the other towards a second room, and / or a second wall, these two rooms being separated by the sliding door in question.

The second end upright 12 can be extended, for outsized heights, by using a secondary profile 30.

The secondary profile 30 has the same section as the main profile 29.

A portion of a plate 33 is fixed to the central portion 31 of the main profile 29 of the second end upright 12, by using a plurality of screws, not shown in the figures, which each pass through a pair of corresponding through holes , one 34 on the plate 33 and the other 35 on the main profile 29.

The plate 33 is fixed, in the remaining portion, to the central portion of the secondary profile 30, by means of the use of a plurality of screws, not shown in the figures, which each pass through a pair of corresponding through holes, one 34 on the plate 33 and the other 36 on the secondary profile 30.

The main profile 29 and the secondary profile 30 are superimposed so that the projections of the respective sections are substantially coincident.

The secondary profile 30 can be produced in different sizes or in a single size. In the second case, the secondary profile 30 has a plurality of marks and / or notches, defining different sizes, to facilitate the cutting operation to the required size.

With reference to Figures 2 and 7, each secondary crosspiece 15a, 15b has a main profile, respectively 37a and 37b of standard length.

With the expression "standard length", referring to the main profiles 37a, 37b, of the secondary crosspieces 15a, 15b, we mean a length of the profiles which substantially follows the standard width of the door of the country in which the subframe 10 is applied.

Each main profile 37a, 37b has a central flat portion 38, comprised between two flat lateral portions 39a, 39b, in a single body with the central portion 38 and joined to it through a wrinkle in the sheet.

The central portion 38 and the two lateral portions 39a, 39b develop mutually parallel and parallel to the direction of development of the main profile 37a, 37b.

In particular, the central portion 38 is turned towards the outside of the body 50, in the state of use, while the lateral portions 39a, 39b are turned towards the inside of the body 50.

Each main profile 37a, 37b is associated with the corresponding intermediate upright 14a, 14b, with a development orthogonal to the development of the intermediate upright.

Each main profile 37a, 37b is associated with the corresponding intermediate upright 14a, 14b through a bayonet coupling.

Each crosspiece 15a, 15b also comprises a secondary profile 40a, 40b, shaped similarly to the corresponding primary profile 37a, 37b, extending therefrom so as to be telescopic with respect to it.

Each secondary profile 40a, 40b is associated with the second end upright 12 through a bayonet coupling.

Each primary profile 37a, 37b has a plurality of holes 41, arranged at a constant distance along a line X parallel to the development axis of the profile. These holes 41 are suitable for inserting corresponding bosses 42, or similar, to ensure a stable and defined elongation of the crosspiece 15.

In particular, the various holes 41 and the corresponding bosses 42 are arranged at a distance such as to define predefined lengths of the crosspieces 15a and 15b.

For applications in oversized holes, the secondary profile 40a, 40b is made to slide telescopically with respect to the primary profile 37a, 37b, or vice versa, until the desired length of the crosspiece is obtained. This length is then maintained by the relative sliding obstacle between the two profiles due to the interference generated by the bosses 42 of the secondary profiles 40a, 40b in the holes 41 of the primary profiles 37a, 37b.

Considering the figures, and in particular figure 8, the side portions 39a, 39b of the primary profiles 37a, 37b and the corresponding side portions 47a, 47b of the secondary profiles 40a, 40b each have at least one tab 45, not shown in the figures for the first profile, protruding towards the inside of the body, considering the profiles in use order.

Each tab 45 is adapted to be inserted into a corresponding hole in the corresponding upright, to provide a bayonet coupling.

These holes are indicated with the reference number 48 for the second end upright 12, they are not indicated for the intermediate uprights 14a, 14b.

In this way, a quick installation of the body frame can be achieved.

Alternatively, the two primary and secondary profiles of each crosspiece can be associated with the corresponding upright by means of fixing with screws.

All the components of the frame 10 according to the invention are self-supporting.

In a variant embodiment, not shown in the figures, the sliding door has two wings that move in opposite directions and the counterframe has two frames each enclosed in a box, at the ends and a central passage hole, or a single central box and two passage holes at the ends.

In practice it has been found that the invention achieves the intended aim and objects by providing a counterframe which can be adapted to out-of-measure or undersized holes.

The invention thus conceived is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the inventive concept; moreover, all the details can be replaced by other technically equivalent elements.

In practice, the materials employed, so long as they are compatible with the specific use, as well as the contingent shapes and dimensions, may be any according to requirements and to the state of the art.

Where the features and techniques mentioned in any claim are followed by reference marks, these marks have been affixed for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and consequently such reference marks have no limiting effect on the interpretation of each element. identified by way of example by these reference signs.
