Abstract
L'invenzione riguarda un procedimento per sorvegliare la capacità di funzionamento di un catalizzatore (116) nel canale (104) dei gas di scarico di un motore endotermico (100) e un dispositivo per attuare il procedimento. La capacità di funzionamento del catalizzatore (116) viene valutata sulla base dell'aumento di temperatura prodotto della conversione esotermica dei gas di scarico nel catalizzatore (116). l'aumento di temperatura viene rilevato con l'ausilio di due segnali di temperatura, laddove il primo segnale di temperatura (THK) viene prodotto partendo da una misurazione a valle del catalizzatore (116) mentre il secondo segnale di temperatura (THKM) viene formato sull'ausilio di un modello di temperatura. A seconda dell'esempio di realizzazione il modello di temperatura riproduce la temperatura a valle di un catalizzatore (116) del tutto non in grado di funzionare, il catalizzatore momentaneamente è ancora sufficientemente in grado di funzionare oppure di uno completamente in grado di funzionare. La valutazione della capacità di funzionamento del catalizzatore (116) avviene sulla base di criteri adattati al modello di temperatura impiegato.(Figura 1).
