Abstract
Un dispositivo tenditore azionato da olio è costruito con un cilindro interno che riceve uno stelo in modo tale che lo stelo stesso serve da pistone, e il diametro della camera ad alta pressione formata dallo stelo e dal cilindro è uguale a quello dello stelo. Questa configurazione elimina variazioni nel volume della camera d'olio a bassa pressione del dispositivo tenditore, mantiene una pressione dell'olio sostanzialmente costante nella camera a bassa pressione, e riduce sostanzialmente la tendenza dell'aria ad essere aspirata nella camera a bassa pressione in conseguenza del flusso d'olio fuori dalla camera a bassa pressione quando lo stelo si sposta nella direzione di sporgenza. Un pistone sullo stelo nella camera a bassa pressione, ma distanziato dalla parete della camera di una intercapedine, esercita una pressione positiva sull'olio quando lo stelo si sposta nella direzione di sporgenza o fuoriuscita per fornire ulteriore garanzia contro l'ingresso d'aria. Una valvola inclusa nel pistone si chiude quando lo stelo avanza e si apre quando lo stelo arretra, impedendo così al pistone di provocare una depressione dell'olio e di aspirare aria presso la guarnizione nella camera dell'olio a bassa pressione.
