Abstract
The invention is concerned with a process for creating decoration and/or decorative effects on smooth and/or polished products, in particular ceramic tiles, obtainable with suitable pigmented paints or colours by means of subsequent firing. The said heat treatment is carried out at a lower temperature than the specific critical temperature for each material, which when exceeded gives rise to phenomena of loss either of colour and/or intensity and/or shine. The materials considered are natural ones (marble and granite), synthetic ones (mixtures of those with cement or resin compounds) and ceramic ones. Thermally hardened resin based pigmented paints are applied preferably at a temperature of 100 degrees to 180 degrees centigrade, while ceramic product based colours are applied preferably but not critically at a temperature of 700 - 800 degrees centigrade but can be applied also at considerably lower or higher temperatures and are useable only for ceramic materials.
