Abstract
A rotary internal combustion engine comprising an oscillating rectangular piston plate and related fixed and moving parts, a rotary engine body and a stationary engine body. The rotary engine body contains therein the rectangular piston plate carried on a rotatable piston carrier. This piston plate is hinged at one end to a shaft and adapted for inward and outward movement relative to the central axis of the engine. The engine contains a combustion chamber the sides of which are formed by the inner wall of the rotary piston carrier and the surface of the rotary engine body adjacent thereto, the inner disc wall of the stationary engine body, the inner surface of the piston plate and inner surface of the curved member in contact with the outer edge of the piston plate. The rectangular piston plate is fixedly connected to the shaft, which shaft is in turn fixedly connected to a first linking means. The piston plate, shaft and first linking means are movably connected to a second linking means, a throw and a driving gear.

Claims (11)
1. A rotary internal combustion engine comprising, a stationary engine body (III), having a fixed end wall (51), a rotary engine body (II) supported by the stationary engine body and including an inner wall (21), at least one combustion chamber (25) within one- of the engine bodies, Oscillating means (1) movable in said combustion chamber, a shaft (2) fixedly connected to said oscillating means. (1) and operably connected to said rotary engine body, planetary gear means (6), and linking means (3, 4) interconnecting said planetary gear means and said shaft to transmit throug said shaft, said linking means and planetary gear means, during. the combustion power cycle, the oscillatory motion of said oscillating means and to convert said oscillatory motion to rotary motion of the planetary gear means, characterized in that: the inner wall surface (21a) of the rotary engine body and the fixed end wall surface (51a) of the stationary engine body define walls of the combustion chamber (25) and both the planetary gear, means (6) and the linking means (3, 4) are disposed adjacent only one side of the combustion chamber (25) .

3. The rotary internal combustion of claim 1 characterized in that the stationary engine body has a central axis and includes at least two combustion chambers (25) disposed on opposite sides of the central axis.
4. "4. The rotary internal combustion engine of claim 1 characterized in that the inner wall surface (51a) of the stationary engine body contains an automatic self-ignition gas by-pass ignition means (81) .
5. The rotary internal combustion engine of claim 1 characterized in that the engine contains an oil inlet (67) and oil outlet means (65) and the oil is otherwise sealed in the rotary engine body.
6. The rotary internal combustion engine of claim 1 characterized in that the fixed end wall (51a) of the stationary engine body contains a fuel intake means (72) and an exhaust outlet means (70) .

The rotary internal combustion engine of claim 1 characterized in that the oscillating means comprises a piston plate (1) which oscillates inwardly and outwardly in said combustion chamber (25), the shaft (2) is fixedly connected to the piston plate (1) and hingedly connected to said rotary engine body, the first linking means (3) is fixedly connected to said shaft (2), the second linking -If - the planetary gear (6) and a throw (5) operably connected to the second linking means (4) and the planetary gear (6), whereby the oscillatory motion of the piston plate (1) is transmitted during the combustion power cycle through said shaft (2) and first and second linking means (3, 4) and throw (5) and is converted to rotary motion of the planetary gear (6) which drives against the main gear (59) .
8. The rotary internal combustion engine of claim 1 characterized in that the combustion chamber (25) is located between the inner wall surface (21a) of the rotary engine body and the fixed end wall surface (51a) of the stationary engine body.

The rotary internal combustion engine of claim 1 characterized in that the rotary engine body includes a rotary piston carrier (21) and at least one combustion chamber (25) , said combustion chamber being located between the inner wall surface (21a) of the rotary engine body and the fixed end wall surface (51a) of the stationary engine body, a piston plate (1) which oscillates inwardly and outwardly in said combustion chamber (25), a shaft (2) fixedly connected to the piston plate (1) and hingedly connected to said rotary piston carrier (21), a first linking means (3) fixedly connected to said shaft (2) , a second linkin means (4) operabl connected 'to said first linkin said planetary gear (6) ; and said stationary engine body having connected thereto a main gear (59) in meshing engagement with the planetary gear (6), whereby the oscillatory motion of the piston plate (1) is transmitted, during the combustion-power cycle, through said shaft (2) and first and second linking means (3, 4) and throw (5) and is converted to rotary motion of said planetary gear (6) which drives against said main gear (59).

The rotary internal combustion engine of claim 9 characterized in that it has at least two combustion chambers (25), the stationary engine body includes fixed end wall (51) ; the rotary engine body includes a housing (22, 23)..-and an end disc (30); the rotary engine body and the rotary piston carrier (21) are disposed within the housing (22, 23); the combustion chamber (25) is located between the inner wall surface (21a) of the rotary engine body and the fixed end wall surface (51a) of the stationary engine body; the piston plates (1) oscillate inwardly and outwardly in said combustion chamber (25) ; the main gear (59) is carried by the stationary engine body; and comprising drive means disposed adjacent only one side of said fixed end wall (51) for transmitting power from the piston plates (1) to the rotary engine body, the drive means including said shaft (2), linking means (3, 4), planetary drive gear (6) and
11. The rotary internal combustion engine of claim 10 characterized in that there are at least four combustion chambers (25) between said inner wall surface (21a) and said fixed end wall (51a).
