The invention relates to containers. More particularly, the invention relates to containers which are capable of illustrating the contents of the container in the context of use. More particularly, the invention relates to paint containers (cans) which are capable of displaying the color of the paint in the container in an environment (e.g., living room, kitchen or bedroom) where the paint can be used. The use of the containers of the present invention assists the purchaser and / or user of the toner in deciding whether the color and / or shade of the particular toner is appropriate.

Transparent paint cans that allow the contents of the cans to be viewed are known. It is also known to display a picture of the environment in which the paint can be used on the outside of the paint can. It is also known to provide a swatch or color card (hereinafter referred to as a color card) showing the color of the paint in a dried state after application on the outside of the can.

We have developed a container that enables the contents of the container to be displayed to potential customers in a real life situation, interacting with that life situation. Accordingly, the container can show what the contents of the container give to live. The containers of the present invention are particularly useful as paint cans.

Accordingly, the present invention relates to a paint container having an exterior view depicting the environment of use of the paint in the container and a window for mixing the paint into the environment and viewing it as part of the environment.

The container according to the invention is preferably a plastic can formed by injection molding. Preferably, the container is made entirely of transparent material. Preferably, the container material is polyethylene.

In a preferred embodiment, the container contents can be represented by a label that can be applied to the outside of the container. Preferably, the label may be a self-adhesive label. The label is printed on the environment display and has a transparent window which allows the prospective buyer and / or user to view the contents of the container through the transparent window in the label and through the transparent wall of the container.

Labels can also be printed and designed to produce any other desired effect. For example, a label can be printed to represent a particular living situation, such as a furnished kitchen, bedroom or living room, or possibly a human figure. You can choose the color of the life part of the label that captures the eyes of a potential customer looking for a particular color, such as red, green, or yellow. Once the customer's attention has been drawn to this color environment, the customer can view a range of shades of the color they are looking for through the transparent window of the container.

The label may also take the form of other representations and written information. For example, the label may include instructions on how to use the contents of the container, as well as health and safety information to be provided for certain materials, such as paints.

Labels can also be used in a design that gives a certain aesthetic effect to the outside of the container. For example, labels may be used which may have different aesthetic effects. It is particularly advantageous to use a label which gives a metallic color impression on a portion of the container area. In this case, the label, which may be preferably a transparent thermoplastic material-based film such as polyethylene terephthalate, is partially metallized and then overprinted with a particular color to achieve a metallic-colored (e.g., metallic blue or metallic green) effect. If such a solution is used on the label, it is preferably shaped such that the metallized impression is shown on the lower part of the container. The label may also display the brand name of the contents of the container. In the case of metallic tinted labels that we deem to be advantageous, the brand name should preferably be on the metallic part of the label.

let's down it. In this case, the brand name appears on the lower part of the container, and the handle of the container does not interfere with the reading of the brand name.

Thus, in a preferred embodiment, the label of the present invention has an upper portion used to represent the container contents usage environment, wherein a transparent window is provided to display the contents of the container, and a lower portion labeled preferably with a darker color representing the container contents usage environment. Spitz.

The lower part of the label can also be used to display the brand name and may be metallized as previously described. The border between the top and bottom of the label can be used to further enhance the aesthetic appearance of the container. For example, this boundary may have a wavy configuration, which can be designed to create a continuous wavy line along a series of canisters arranged in a continuous row on the shop shelf. For paint cans, the configuration can also be selected to show the texture and applicability of the paint.

In a preferred embodiment, the label also includes instructions for use of the contents of the container, health and safety information and, if applicable, any other written communication. These are preferably located on the label so that they are on the back of the containers on the shop shelf.

In a further preferred embodiment, it is desirable to have a slightly blurred representation of the application environment of the ink, which provides a nuanced effect. It is also advantageous if the image on the container gives the impression of a dense and spreadable paint; this is achieved by wavy lines forming a border between the top and bottom of the label.

Alternatively, the environment in which the container contents can be used can be printed on the container itself, preferably during injection molding of the container, using a method known as in-tool labeling. In this method, the inner surface of the mold acts as a printing press.

5 In a further embodiment of the ink container according to the invention, a color card is provided on the outside of the container showing the color of the dried ink; in some cases, this may be slightly different from the color or hue of the container. Preferably, this color card is combined with a representation depicting the context in which the container contents are used. In a preferred embodiment, the color card is located near or at the intersection of the bottom and top of the label. The color card may correspond to the color cards in the color swatch catalogs (e.g., the swatch catalog described in our British Patent Application No. 0211974.1).

The invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the drawings.

Figure 1 is a front view of an embodiment of a paint container according to the invention.

Figure 2 illustrates a self-adhesive label according to the present invention which can be used as a carrier for the presentation and written information to be applied to the outside of the container.

Fig. 1 is a front view of a transparent container 1 made of polyethylene with a label as shown in Fig. 2. In terms of appearance, the container 1 is divided into two parts. One of these is an upper part 2 which comprises a display 3 of the ink application environment, further comprising a transparent window 4 through which the contents of the container 1 can be viewed and melted into the display 3. The lower part 5 of the container 1 has a darker colored background 6 on which the brand name 7 and / or other promotional material can be printed. The boundary 8 of the upper part 2 and the lower part 5 is formed by a wavy line. At the intersection of the border 8 between the upper part 2 and the lower part 5, a color card 9 is provided which shows the color of the dried ink.

Figure 2 is a plan view of a label which wraps around the container 1 to provide the front view shown in Figure 1. As can be seen from Figure 2, the label may consist of two components, one of which produces the image shown in Figure 1 on the front of the container 1 and the other component 10

carries information such as instructions for use and health and safety information.

Although the container 1 is shown as a cylindrical body, the container may be in the form of a cube, a rectangle or a tapered shape. We prefer cylindrical tanks.

The invention further relates to the labels used to form the containers according to the invention.

Accordingly, the present invention further relates to a label having two components separated vertically, one for written information and the other for representation; the depiction-carrying unit is divided horizontally into two portions, one lower and one upper portion, the upper portion depicting a human environment and having a transparent window, while the lower portion is darker than the upper portion.

Preferably, the labels are provided with an adhesive layer on the backside. It is also preferred that the written information subassembly and the lower part of the depiction subassembly consist of a colorant applied to a metallized film.

In a further preferred embodiment, the label carries a color card showing the color of the ink used in the dried state. In another preferred embodiment, the darker underside of the second component of the label bears the brand name.

Preferably, the labels of the present invention may be based on a polyethylene terephthalate film, wherein the film is optionally metallizable, printable, and conventionally provided with an adhesive layer.
