Abstract
Novelty: big-dimensioned bricks (greater than 20cm thick) used in the construction of single walls, filling walls and reinforced or non-reinforced masonry structures are disclosed. Technical features: the shape of the bricks allows the placement of horizontal and vertical reinforcement at the horizontal joints of the masonry as well as the housing of power supply cables and piping especially at preselected places (between recesses (3) and masonry) by avoiding local interventions to the masonry at inadequate positions; said recesses (3) allow the breakage of the outer walls of the brick for the placement of vertical reinforcement or cabling or piping at the masonry body. The combination of great thickness and recesses at the walls (3) contributes to the improvement of the seismic and energetic behavior of ordinary constructions (e.g. reinforced concrete or non-reinforced structural work) while allowing the exploitation of said bricks in reinforced masonry.
