Abstract

A shaped article is composed of both a solid thermoplastic oxymethylene polymer and a metal, a metal oxide, a metal silicate, a metal sulphide, carbon, silica or boron, the polymer containing adjacent carbon atoms. Preferably the adjacent carbon atoms form 0.4 to 25 weight per cent of the polymer and are preferably oxyethylene groups. A thermal stabilizer, e.g. 4, 41-butylidene bis-(3-methyl-6-tertiary butyl phenol) and a chain scission inhibitor, e.g. cyanoguandine or a polyamide may also be present.
