Abstract
997,091. Root-crop harvester. S. GUREL. Oct. 2, 1961 [July 2, 1960], No. 23208/60. Heading A1F. [Also in Division B8] A root-crop harvester particularly for potatoes comprises a share 10 on either side of which is located a disc 12 having sharpened edges to remove haulms from the sides of the drill. An elevator 13 feeds the lifted potatoes together with stones, haulms &c. to an endless conveyer 14 comprising slats formed by a series of rods 18 and fingers 19, the haulms being supported above the rods 18 and discharged from the harvester at the rear end of the flight 24. On reaching the flight 24 the slats 16 pivot downwardly to discharge the potatoes and stones on to a shoot 30 below which are located rows of resilient fingers 32, 36 (not shown) and 35. Potatoes falling from the shoot are deflected by the fingers 32, 35, 36 on to rollers 38, 39 having inflated surfaces, which feed the potatoes to a conveyer 44 where they are guided on to an elevator 46 feeding an endless conveyer 43 which conveys the potatoes to a trailer. Stones falling from the shoot 30 depress and pass between the fingers 32, 35, 36 and fall on to a conveyer 40 feeding on to an elevator 42 which lifts the stones to the conveyer 43 where they are guided by means extending across the conveyer to a shoot for discharge from the harvester.
