A walkway for workmen is supported on a number of parallel girders mounted on two stanchions G each girder comprising sections X, Y and each section consisting of two parallel tubes B1 or B2 connected by struts C1 or C2, the tubes of the section Y telescoping for adjustment in the tubes of the sections X and being secured by means of holes E. The stanchions may be adjstable in length.
