Abstract
991,274. Transformers. SCIAKY S.A. May 10, 1963 [May 10, 1962], No. 18722/63. Heading H1T. A transformer winding arrangement having one or more primaries 16, 17 (Fig. 1) and at least one plate forming a secondary 13, is manufactured by holding the winding parts together with binding material 20 and then placing therein a mould and charging it with moulding material which is subsequently polymerized. The two primaries 16, 17,may be of rolled copper strip and may be placed between two secondary plates (Fig. 2, not shown) or have one secondary plate between them (Fig. 1), the plates having a cooling tube 14 attached. The windings may be separated by spacers 19 and the parts may be stuck together with a resin containing an accelerating agent to assist cold polymerization. The binding 20 which prevents relative movement of the windings may be of tape or glass yarn. The moulding resin may be charged with powdered silica, dolomite, or quartz and polymerized either by stoving, or in the cold state by addition of an accelerating agent, while the mould may provide a potted winding assembly having a cross-section which is circular or rectangular.
