[Also in Division G1] To dampen the movement of the bellows 5 and associated disc valve 7 in a thermostatically operated cooling system of a car engine, the bellows 5 is mounted inside a bell 10 which is secured to the supporting stirrup 4, has a bore for the passage of valve rod 6 and is provided with a few small bores or slits 11. If the thermostat is installed horizontally at least one of the bores 11 is arranged at the highest point of the bell 10 for venting purposes.
