Abstract
990,020. Diaphragm vibrators. M. W. DAVIDSON, and W. J. M. KEAN. Aug. 31, 1961 [June 2, 1960], No. 19527/60. Heading G5J. A resonance tube 1 is connected at one end 2 to a system operable by pressure fluid and is closed at its other end by a diaphragm 3 which in its rest position is in contact (through a disc 10 secured to the diaphragm) with a plane surface on the end of a nozzle 6 through which pressure fluid may be fed to cause oscillation of the diaphragm. The pressure fluid flows into a chamber 11 which is maintained substantially at atmospheric pressure, communicating with the atmosphere by way of a part 12 in the outer wall of the nozzle 6. The resonance tube 1 may be telescopic and therefore tunable.
