984,173. Sash bar and glazing strip combinations. S. E. JONES. Sept. 27, 1963 [Oct. 4, 1962], No. 37680/62. Heading E1R. A glazing bar, e.g. of wood 10, has a longitudinal groove 11 of width greater than the malleable e.g. lead glazing bar 12 accommodated in it so as to take a force fit fillet of wood 17, the lower edge of which abuts against a projecting nose 16 at the lower end of the bar 13, when in position, this latter bar 13 having a bifurcation 12 forming arms 14, 15 which are turned over on the glass to retain the latter in position. A filler such as a plastic resin compound may replace the fillet 17 of wood. The glazing strip may alternatively be secured in the groove by adhesive and the bar may be formed in two parts secured together around the strip by means of an adhesive, the two parts being rabetted so that when placed together the groove to receive the strip is formed.
