Abstract

978,882. Veterinary appliances. C. H. EICHWEDE. July 18, 1963 [July 26, 1962], No. 28831/62. Heading A5R. [Also in Division B8] A hand winch for veterinary use comprises a chassis 1, Fig. 4, having a seat 10 which is straddled by the operator to hold or manoeuvre the chassis during haulage operations. The hand wheel 7 may rotate a pair of drums 4 for hauling on two separate cables 15. The winch is used for assisting at the birth of a calf, foal or other animal, the cables 15 being attached to the protruding forelegs of the calf. Castors 2 are provided so that the chassis may be readily moved into correct alignment. Hinged ramps 12 with serrated edges 14 operate to engage the ground and prevent movement during hauling. Hand holes 17 are provided for carrying the winch.
