Abstract

975,117. Photographic camera shutter means. AGFA A. G. May 22, 1962 [May 25, 1961], No. 19707/62. Heading G2A. A photographic camera having for optional use a delayed action mechanism for shutter release, an automatic exposure regulating device and means for manual exposure setting, includes a change-over device for rendering the automatic exposure regulating device inoperative to allow manual setting, the said change-over device being provided with a control cam for engagement with the delayed action mechanism in a corresponding control position in order to bring the same into operation. The camera shown comprises a shutter housing 1 a shutter speed control ring 3 with a cam slot 4 engaging a pin 5 for varying the shutter speed and a slot 6 for bulb setting control. Ring 3 is linked to exploring means 12 for an exposure meter galvanometer pointer 13. Ring 3 also has a slot 76 the end 18 can engage pin 19 on a diaphragm setting ring 20. Ring 20 can be rotated manually by means of ring 27. A change-over ring 30 is provided with cams 38, 42, 52 for co-operating with lever 39, pin 43 on a delay mechanism plate 46 and pin 57 on a release lever 54 respectively. The camera is operated by a rod 60. Ring 30 may be set by means of marks 31-35 and index 36 for automatic exposure with and without delayed action, flash with and without delayed action and bulb settings respectively. For taking an exposure with automatic exposure setting without delayed action, pin 57 is set in the arcuate part of slot 58 and when rod 60 is moved in direction b it is latched by pawl 63, end 68 moves away from pin 69 so ring 50 is rotated by spring 70, ring 3 is rotated by spring 15 until means 12 abuts pointer 13 thereby automatically setting the shutter speed and diaphragm aperture, pin 72 on ring 50 engages lug 73 and operates the shutter, pin 72 then engages and rotates latch 63 which frees rod 60 which moves under spring 61 to its initial position simultaneously moving the other parts to their initial position. For automatic exposure with delayed action part 42b of cam 42 moves (by means of pin 43a) pinion 48 into engagement with toothed portion 49 of ring 50 so that the running down of ring 50 before pin 72 releases the shutter is delayed. Also pin 53 is situated in part 57 of slot 58 by means of part 52a of cam 52 thereby preventing rotation of ring 50 until lever 54 is pivoted anticlockwise by pin 59 on rod 60. For flash exposure with delayed action pin 43 is against part 42a of cam 42 and pinion 48 is again brought into contact with teeth 49, and cam 38 moves lever 39 so that it meets pin 41 and prevents ring 3 from rotating. For flash exposures without delayed action pin 43 is against part 42c<1> and pinion 48 and teeth 49 are disengaged. The same applies to exposures but in this case cam 38b rotates lever 39 until it rotates ring 3 (by means of pin 41) to the position in which lever 7 engages recess 6a.
