Abstract

965,647. Handles for brushes and handmirrors. LIGHT STEEL SECTIONAL CONSTRUCTIONS Ltd. July 11, 1963, No. 27477/63. Heading B4K. A framework for a brush or mirror comprises two frame members 1, 2 arranged back to back to form a hollow interior, each member constituting part of a holder and integral handle, that part of the holder constituted by the member 1 being adapted to receive a brush backing 6 or mirror and that part of the holder constituted by the member 2 being adapted for the reception of the decorative facing 14. The frame members 1, 2 are fixed together by rivets, the perimeter of the frame being closed by a flexible beading. As shown the projection 10 on the brush backing 6 is received in an elongated slot 7 having different widths 8, 9. A leaf spring 17 is clipped between stops 18, 19 which are pressed out from the slot 7. Shoulders 21 on the projection 10 engage with the spring 17 and retain the brush backing 6 on the holder. The decorative facing is retained on the frame member 2 by tangs 15 which are passed through slots 16 and turned over. The decorating facings 24, 25 for the handle are connected to the handle parts 5 by studs 27 which pass through registering holes in the parts and also through apertures 29 in a sheet metal reinforcement 29.
