961,278. Extrusion nozzles. REIFENHAUSER G.m.b.H. April 5, 1963 [May 10, 1962], No. 13709/63. Heading B5A. A nozzle for extruding plates or sheets of thermoplastic materials comprises a cylindrical core 1 surrounded by a housing 3, and the material passes from the extruder screw through a passage 2 (which may be machined in the outer surface of the core 1) between the core 1 and housing 3 to the flat outlet between lips 7, 9. The lip 9 is adjustably mounted on the housing 3 by screws 10, 11. The flow through the nozzle is also controlled by a valve member 12 adjustable by a screw 8. The core 1 may be provided with heating and cooling means.
