Abstract

958,867. Medicament inhalers. INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL & SURGICAL SUPPLIES (PROPRIETARY) Ltd. Sept. 20, 1962 [Sept. 22, 1961], No. 35832/62. Heading A5T. A liquid medicament inhaler comprises a chamber 12 having means, such as a threaded orifice 14, by which it can be secured to the neck of a medicament container. A nozzle 23, for connection to a supply of pressurized gas, projects through the wall to a point adjacent a tube 16 through which it entrains liquid from the container. A baffle element 20, having an upper surface at approximately 45 degrees to the chamber axis, is so placed that the spray issuing from the tube 16 impinges upon it and is effectively atomized. The outlet 10 is applied to the user's nose or mouth and, if desired, may be fitted with a specially shaped mouthpiece.
